if V2 Happens I reckon (im using a Skimmer as an example, any animal really) when the bar is 100% it spawns a small Skimmer out of the hut (it walks out) and it gets attacked and killed by the hunters (like having our own spawner with the Progress bar and hay (do a duration of 10-12 hay each) (Upgrade version speeds up the progress bar to 6-8 hays each)

Lets say, we have multiple version of animals to spawn out the huts with upgrades, this gives me base ideas..

I could make a Arena (one way the way to walk in and the other is the hut set to spawn a Bonedog with the building facing the other side (like oblivion's arena)

or


I could fence it up and spawn animals for a live killing and meat collecting farm..

I could spawn Bonedogs near the gates with two huts on both sides...might take 20-35 secs for one dog at the cost of 10-12 hay

i've run into a small issue where some boar huts got stuck on 99% completion on a new boar, but the input boar progress bar is empty, so that new boar isn't finished until i stick a fresh boar into the input.

As far as i can tell this doesn't affect how many total boards you get, just adds an extra step into the mix, but still something that i don't think is intended. Problem is i'm not sure how to replicate it, it's only affected a few of my boar sheds.

I'd love to see a V2 for this, including a "barn" of sorts, for storage, in order to keep the workers automated instead of them getting confused and standing around aimless. Also, would keep them from taking boars from the input instead of output to the chopping tables. :dustwich:

I am currently reworking the crafting system, now I do not need 2 rework tables, everything is combined into one (through the crafting menu) after debugging I will update the current one mod, or release it as v2

It works pretty well and its fun to have boars. I like the current production cycle for the boars.

Only thing missing is a storage container for boars so you can automate hauling to the barn, from the barn to storage, from storage to the cutting/dressing tables.

@Rabbit initially, it was added only to city bars. I'm not sure about the hive. different starts should not affect availability. Other mods should not have an impact if they do not affect merchants. Check the availability of the product at the Holy nation or shek in bars. (I'm currently playing with this mod and I have boars on sale)

does any of the hive villages have a chance these will show up so I can buy them? so far none have had them, If it matters I am using the refugee start and genisis mod so I am (assuming they didnt change the map) on the border of the vain by raptor island

I haven't used the mod yet, but I was also wondering if it's possible to have a storage dedicated to storing the boars so you don't have to place animals inside regular storage boxes. It would also give a nice dedicated storage for workers to auto-haul to/from, kinda like with farming. You could also increase the stack size for these storage options to make it more worth using instead of vanilla storage.

option 1: It would only be placed outside, and it would look like an animal pen.
option 2: A meat freezer that's small enough to fit indoors, but since it's a freezer, it requires power. Both of these storage options would only accept the animals from this mod.

Maybe multiple sizes for each option, with different capacity for each.

I like this, great mod! I was wondering if you would consider adding a building for storing them as weird as that sounds. Like something that could function like a barn I guess, but works the same as any other haul to storage? Really cool This really does fix the issue of no domesticated livestock for breeding and butchering in the game. Would love to see wild boars roam too and in nomad caravans, but that doesn't sound simple so I'm not asking just throwing wild ideas out there.

@Player 1 The production cycle of the boar is about the same as the agricultural cycle (wheat). If you make it faster, it will be unbalanced, and you can only live on one meat with a large colony (but you can build several boar sheds)
I'll think about it, maybe make adjustments.

@FD - So out of 2 things can be 1 created... Out of 1 not 2... Strange "Beackthing's" drop 3 kind of Stuff. Anyway - i tested the Mod today... something is somehow Bad here in my Game. Your Building has a coruppted Top, and in 5-6h (RealTime) i was able to breed 4-5 Pig's... Is that normal ?

That's right, I wanted to make all kinds of feeding, but for this I would have to add other buildings (one food product - one building), otherwise I can’t realize it.
The production of skins and meat from boar is logical immediately, but the game engine does not allow this to be realized.
I turned to the developers with this question, but did not receive an answer.

Looks interesting... isnt it Possible to make it that way that it allways give Skin&Meat at the same Time ? And why feed Weed only ? Think most have Desert (dry) Bases... Why not feed Cactus etc.? Pigs eat everything no?

This is an awesome idea, maybe make it so the boar is only able to be bought from Nomads or Farmers (makes sense since they would be growing them). Maybe do a mod for goats and cheese too!

Great mod, there's no real way to have livestock in Kenshi and this fixes the problems so my settlers aren't restricted to eating Rice and bread. Thanks!
