I'll use Plantoids Extended as you suggest, but just wanted to chime in to say this mod idea is genius and simply hilarious.

Check out Plantoids Extended by Mute for a current version.
Royal Raven 13. maj 2022 kl. 17:23
Yeah this was a great mod, but needs fixed. I think the Devs needs to make it like the mod.
Fetfrumos96 12. dec. 2021 kl. 12:25
Please, is it possible to fix your mod, the mod does not want to work correctly in the new version 3.2
FloofyMomo 17. okt. 2021 kl. 19:59
This mod is broken for me it removes all plantoid portraits except one
Aurreshen 29. juli 2021 kl. 22:34
PSA: Everything Necroid aside from the Origin is not available as an option with this mod when creating an empire
masternetra 24. maj 2021 kl. 11:15
I hope this gets updated soon, there is the "Plantoid" mod now, but that's broken.
Mecrazyfang 17. maj 2021 kl. 9:18
Cool concept. I'll keep an eye on it for when it plays nicely with Necroids.

Mod breaks Organic pop growth
It only classifies Lithoids and Plantoids as Biological
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 7. maj 2021 kl. 18:35
huh... weird. Yeah havent had a chance to update at all, but still thats odd that it would happen
javin5 6. maj 2021 kl. 16:03
Just letting you know, this mod currently breaks first contact. Playing with it causes all of the first contact events to not fire at all. I know it's not updated, just pointing it out.
FrozenParagon 29. apr. 2021 kl. 17:01
stellaris has incorperated quite a few mods directly into gameplay. fallout and skyrim have done the same thing.
Ahvena 26. apr. 2021 kl. 12:18
I really, REALLY wish gaming companies could come up with some kind of legal way to adopt popular community mods like this, with the mod creators "donating" it or something.

Mods like this make SO much sense to be adopted into the game, it's almost infuriating that they can't be added without penalizing players by restricting achievements. There needs to be a petition to add this to the Plantoids dlc formally.
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 25. apr. 2021 kl. 13:04
eh, more just after lithoids had unique mechanics I wanted plantoids to have some too, certainly not a business plan lol.

Making mods that require obscure and otherwise useless dlc is equal parts brilliant and idiotic.

On the one hand, it is idiotic bc it will definitely cost your mod a bunch of subs to require this dlc. This dlc is one of the few that I don't own, and I am positive that many others are the same.

On the other hand, you are literally doing paradox's job for them here. In making this mod and doing a great job, you are helping paradox to sell dlc to stingy ppl like me. It is brilliant in its own way.

TLDR: I think this mod hurts you in some ways but helps paradox in every way.

Overall, I think this is awesome. If you update this mod in the next couple of weeks then I will buy the dlc and play this mod. If you make a mod that does something similar with the humanoid dlc then I would do the same. Great job. You are doing God's work.
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 24. apr. 2021 kl. 20:32
its a bit out of date now, so I haven’t tried with 3.0 yet, I have a fair bit of general updating to do on this and other mods
Sophist88 24. apr. 2021 kl. 18:36
So does this mod work? I am tempted to buy the dlc just to try it!
Partibrejker 23. apr. 2021 kl. 16:30
I apologize, I've totally read 2021 instead of 2020 as the time of the last update. Guess that is the issue, even when I put those as last in the load order, fingers crossed for this, and compatibility patches if they are needed for planetary diversity and trait diversity.
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 23. apr. 2021 kl. 11:46
likely something is overwriting the start events, try moving this to the bittom of your load order
Partibrejker 23. apr. 2021 kl. 10:40
Hello buddy,

First of all thank you for the mod.

I am experiencing an issue I believe. I've went with the carnivorous plant trait and there is no livestock species on my starting planet, only my starting race. Therefore - I am having unrests and the lack of food from the start. Please advise.

Thanks, and have a great day!
XenoMustache 18. apr. 2021 kl. 13:30
This looks absolutely great! Can't wait to try it out when you get it updated! <3
Mr. Rainger 17. apr. 2021 kl. 13:25
love my plant bros, thanks for the mod. Good luck on the update hope it goes well.
Dazed 15. apr. 2021 kl. 12:14
Lo0okinng forward to trying this out on nemesis! :)
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 9. apr. 2021 kl. 23:04
anytime bro!
Jack Jack Attack 9. apr. 2021 kl. 21:39
So this mod is not only incompatible with Necroids, it broke every single faction I've ever made. Every single one is now giving me "select a portrait", but selecting a portrait and clicking Next does nothing. Thanks bro.

starchitec  [ophavsmand] 31. mar. 2021 kl. 19:18
sorry been busy irl. Ill probably do a compatability pass again on this and other mods when Nemesis comes out.
Kerjava 31. mar. 2021 kl. 19:15
any update on necroid support ? o(love the mod)
Helga Open-Legs 30. mar. 2021 kl. 17:14
i wait patiently
DragoonBlade 13. dec. 2020 kl. 15:42
I have figured out why necroids aren't working with this mod.

The

02_species_traits_basic_characteristics

and

01_base_species_classes

text files are lacking the proper Necroid related lines of code.
N0MERCY 12. dec. 2020 kl. 19:34
do we know why this is causing necroids not to load?
Yros 29. nov. 2020 kl. 7:20
Edit : well it seems others reported it earlier as well I didn't see their comments and only noticed the issue later xD
Yros 29. nov. 2020 kl. 7:19
For some reason, this mod seems to delete the Necroid portraits, hence preventing players to create or even play with the latest Necroid DLC.
Fisicosaurio 22. nov. 2020 kl. 0:14
Could you make a patch for Forgotten Queens please?? Thank you so much!
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 14. nov. 2020 kl. 9:54
I think so?
♫ Tadpole ♫ 14. nov. 2020 kl. 6:34
The Distant Stars DLC adds a single Plantoid species portrait. Does this mod work for those of us who have Distant Stars but not Plantoids?
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 4. nov. 2020 kl. 20:29
Yeah, this one needs an update for Necroids it seems. Itll take me a bit to get to it.
Jesusshock 3. nov. 2020 kl. 22:40
Necroid
Demaar 2. nov. 2020 kl. 13:37
Somehow, for some reason this mod seems to remove the Necroid Portraits.
-Norbert- 2. nov. 2020 kl. 3:53
Any chance you could make this compatible with !! Infinite Stellaris and it's Pop Manager?
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 25. sep. 2020 kl. 23:19
Yeah. There is a patch linked above, but its out of date. Some of the newer PD planet classes dont play nicely with this still.
caiowduraes 25. sep. 2020 kl. 18:18
Kind of a bug report: this mod acts weird when loaded together with Planetary Diversity. At game start, Photosynthesis will somehow prevent the game from spawning districts (generator, mining, farm... all except housing districts) on worlds of a non-vanilla type (eg continental and tropical planets will be fine, but bog and dune worlds will not).
Little Tee 12. sep. 2020 kl. 5:14
NVM: I found the conflict. It is in the ship_sizes file. Hive DLC and Photosynthesis both edit the values for resource requirements and it seems Hive DLC file is overwriting the Photosynthesis one. When I combined the two into one mod, I must have missed this file.
Little Tee 12. sep. 2020 kl. 4:57
I have too many other mods installed to list, and I understand this makes it much more difficult for you to help, but I'm having an issue with Plantoid empires not building colony ships.

So without going into too much detail, is there anything specific to your Photosynthesis mod that might alter the requirements for building colony ships for Plantoids? If so, which file(s) do I need to look at?

Like I said, I have a ton of other mods installed, and I ask here as a place to start investigating while I try to fix the problem I'm having.
Watchman 6. sep. 2020 kl. 13:04
Thank you. I am already using Real Space New Frontiers, together with PD, but I will think about abandoning PD. Thanks again for your respond ;-)
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 6. sep. 2020 kl. 12:00
yeah no I understand. Ill probably update it eventually, but its very low on my priority list given its patch support for a mod I don't use myself. Also its maybe a sore spot for some modders, Planetary Diversity is somewhat infamously incompatible, and its users tend to expect all other mods to accommodate it instead of PD itself trying to be written in a way to be more friendly to other mods. My personal recommendation is to use Real Space New Frontiers instead. It adds planet types and art via planet modifiers, which mean it is out of the box compatible with pretty much everything, unlike PD.
Watchman 6. sep. 2020 kl. 9:17
Like, if there are any bugs/problems with mod, users are supposed to mention that in comments, right? So, that is what me and other people were trying to do. Sorry if it was way too annoying
Watchman 6. sep. 2020 kl. 9:16
Well, sorry for that. Really sorry, not intended to spam.

Just, really, pd patch is not doing it's job at all now. So, should I abandon it, or is it going to be updated in future? Like, any chances?
starchitec  [ophavsmand] 6. sep. 2020 kl. 9:10
oy. Spamming my comment sections. This works fine with vanilla currently afiak. I have not updated the PD patch in a while largely bc I dont use PD myself plus really demanding comments for updates oddly do not encourage me to respond or update.
