@heX_ Go east conquer and hold Kent. Send a party west to raid outlying villages but don't try to them. Harold Godwinson will show up to fight soon, beat him. Then prepare to run out of supplies and downscale your army as needed.

My god the Normans are incredibly difficult to play as. If you want to expand from the initial one village, you have to go to war against 4 factions at the same time (West Seaxe and their allies). If you do it, you have to quickly blitz through them in 25 turns and get as much land as possible, because after those turns - you will severely go into debt and famine. Insane start haha. What's the tactic to succeed with them?

@leitoheartgram It is likely the problem is the English localization file. The names may only appear in the English language version of the game settings.

Hi i notice with the Norman miles bodyguard unit they are weilding great dane axes which I though was weird for a cavalry unit. Just thought you should know

@Crumb You can. They are the Normaunds under Western Norse. If you are using any mods that add additional units, or edit starting positions they will cause a mod conflict.

To the Kingdom of Mide then? I just tried to make a muti-faction campaign for attila for example and there would be a 193 hour long loading queue and i know that's not suppose to happen. would you know why it might have abnormal loading times or?

@Ostrogoth2299 I had to use the Assembly Kit as RPFM could not edit the startpos. I have been told you can generate the startpos with RPFM now - but I haven't gotten it to work.

Lol, this reminds me of the ArmA 3 modding scene; there was a time when 1 Single guy knew how to create the skeletons, it was basically black magic. he would jump around major mods and stuff. Its kinda funny, I think eventually he showed others.

@Bonsai Oh that's a pity. It'd be awesome if you could collaborate with someone that could make all the factions playable for this 1066 mod! It would be like a whole new expansion to the game that makes for many hours of fun! Nonetheless thank you once again for making this great mod!

@reyemperador1415 All minor factions require significant scripting to unlock and be playable (which I don't know how to do.) As far as I know there is only one guy who has ever gotten it to work for the main game.

@Bonsai Great mod! Also: one suggestion I just wanted to request is if you would ever consider unlocking all the minor factions? I think it'd be fun having more little/minor factions to play during the 1066 time period!

Hi. After research tech 'professional bodyguard' i cannot rise new army, cannot recruit any commander. Any fix ? is any way to remove researched perk?

@polemarchos I've tested the mod on my machine as a fresh install, and had another person install the game and mod. What you're experiencing is a Startpos conflict - which normally is caused by a mod. If you've previously had Thrones installed and used mods before on your computer - its likely that the game is reusing your old mod loading file. It's a known error and the file must be deleted from %appdata%

@skoobeldoobel I won't change that as it reflects a very specific reality. The rebel army leader, Tostig Godwinson, was a military ally and sailed with Hardrada to reclaim his earldom of York. I agree its annoying but Hardrada starts largely unopposed in the north, and would have been forced to eventually betray his ally if they were allowed to regain their strength. He was there for the throne after all! You can always try and vassalize them yourself.

harald hardrada starting with a military alliance with a rebel faction is incredibly annoying. the rebels just steal all the provinces i want to take. at least make the rebels a vassal, and make it possible to annex the, because i literally have no choice but to eventually betray them. completely pointless

@Bum ✞ This mod is compatible with any reskin mod for vanilla. I used Immersive Shields and Armies for this mod, but the 878 one should work to replace them or any other reskin mod - just load them after this one.

if you're still working on this mod could we get some more unit reskins? The Norman Knights and English Huscarls look good but most units look almost completely vanilla

@Bonsai if any of them edit the startpos that's causing a conflict error. Thrones is notorious for incompatibility between mods due to the way it was made.

It is doable. Use RPFM you will see the flag file for Northymbre has been replaced with the Raven flag LandWaster. Swap it for what you want and you’re good to go.

This is incredible! I'm just wondering - is it possible to have a submod or something that replaces the Norwegian faction icon with the royal lion banner? I don't know if it's not historical or not, but I'd love to see it (been playing lots of CK3)!

I'd be interested in how you make this mod. Should this be in a discussion thread. I understand that you can't add units to TOB without a new startpos. And I'm also told that the startpos is very challenging to work with. I'd like to see a high level list of the changes to the startpos needed for this kind of quality of overhaul.

Any of them should work as this mod mainly re-uses old units, but it wont double the size of the new units (2 per faction).

Hey Bonsai. Congrats for the mod its awesome great work. Now i am thinking to start making mods my self and especially I would love to learn to mod TOB and to make a 14 century medieval overhaul campaign in Britannia. But i don't know a thing. Where to start do you have a tutorial or something are there tutorials and i would love if there are vids and step by step to show me and not to read for hours, where can i find the units English Scots etc etc or how to make them and stuff can you help me so i could start modding???
