if you have screen flickering it's because of the backpacks these things carry. Kenshi's engine does not like it when clothes are missing weight paints. Luckily that's pretty easy to fix with small amount of blender knowledge.

Alternatively you could just remove the backpack from the game in the fcs and resize the bolts.

These things are beautiful, and if you get lucky enough to take em out (or have someone else take em out), they fetch a decent price.

I had this weird encounter in the swamp once where a bunch of Bone Bandits encountered three Trashers, were demolished by them, and then those Thrashers were demolished by Blood Spiders, and then those Blood Spiders were demolished by more Bone Bandits. Was like "wtf is going on XD?!" at the end of it all.

@BlackWaterAquifer - you should already be able to carry them. If not, it's super easy. Copy the Steam mod folder for Thrashers>>> use the .MOD file to rename your copied folder from a numerical value in the Steam directory to whatever the .MOD file is named in the Steam folder ex: if the .MOD file is named "Thrashers" and is in folder 836061, open that folder, copy all, and place it in a new folder >>> Then place your new renamed folder (Your folder will need to match the .MOD file name exactly, so "Thrashers") into your Kenshi "mod" folder, which is in the same folder as FCS and the .exe. Open up FCS >>> create new mod, make sure "Thrashers" is listed as "ACTIVE" >>> Go to Races on the left hand menu >>> go to Thrasher in the race menu >>> go about half way down and you'll see the statement "Can be carried" or "Is carriable" - True or False >>> select "True". >>> place the mod lower in your mod load order than the actual Thrashers mod itself >>> profit.

@trouter - thanks dude. I actually found a few high grade ones after subjugating enough of them lol.

@Frigid Moth - that sounds like it might be a weird mod conflict you and Millennial Scout are having. The easiest fix would be to make a quick mod in FCS. Add Thrasher mod to "mod" folder in Kenshi.exe directory, make sure the folder is has the exact same name as the .MOD file > Open FCS > Select Thrasher mod and "create new mod", make it something like "pick up Thrasher patch" or w/e > go to "Races" > select Thrasher race > in the options for the race, you should see an option on the left hand side that says something like "Is carriable" or "Is able to be carried", and switch it from false to true. That should be it. Then put it after Thrasher mod in your load order. I had to do the same thing for Ancient Empire Samurai when I wanted to recruit an army of super soldiers lol. Hopefully this helps.

I don't know if anyone has asked, but I want to see an enlarged version, something with the name Gunhead Strider and increased firepower. Yes, for more masochism) The idea of these robots is simply gorgeous, and there don't seem to be enough varieties of creepy machines in vanilla

@IdeaDork awesome mod, man! Especially with Tame Beasties. I have a question--- Is there any way to upgrade the Thrasher harpoon? I've only seen the "shoddy" variant in my playthroughs, but I saw someone else had a "standard" version? I know I'm about 5 years late, and you've probably long since moved on from this mod, but is there any way to craft harpoon guns for Thrashers?

So are you supposed to not be able to pick up these bots or is that a bug because it doesn't show up as an option compared to other enemies/npcs. I don't know why I can't pick them up even after when they are dead.

Awesome mod! I'm playing with UWE&Kaizo; for some reason the Mech Hive guards consider my units "troublemakers" when they defend themselves against Thrashers near town. The guards don't do this for any other Old Machine enemy - does anyone know how I might fix this?

Мод намертво ломает баланс на всех локациях где спавнятся роботы + на болотах. Эти боты видят очень далеко, стреляют очень мощно и нередко очень точно. Да, в рукопашной они почти безобидны, только не факт что вы добежите ведь этим ботам плевать на ваши доспехи. Автору мода желаю 3 болта в его ASS

it turns out they can shoot at any at close range ,my characters closed the distance and where already hiting them ,but they could still shoot ,is that a bug or smth ,I thougth they can only kick at close range

A final comment to people who get grey flickering all-around the screen bug.
After trial and error...
1) Unsubscribe to the mod, wait for a bit, then Subscribe back to it,
2) Place the mod somewhere at the bottom of the list
3) Then ingame take one character from the team to run away from Thrashers for some while not looking at them and then make a new save, then quit the game and reload.

This finally fixed it without rolling back progress. You can just try 3rd step, I think it should fix issue on its own.

Okey. The only way to fix grey flickering was to load autosave. Have 0 clue why it happened as nothing changed before last save and autosave 5min back

It Worked well but for some reason, grey flickering started to happen all over the screen when they were visible in-game. I moved lower in load order and fixed it once but now it doesn't. I haven't changed anything else...so what causes it?

Does this have to be loaded in a specific load order?
Because I used to encounter these things all the time.
I initially just ignored them before I decided I wanted to recruit them.
Now that I'm venturing out to the same places I used to see them, I cannot find them.
In their place, I'm spotting another mod I downloaded "Doll race."
I'd love to just remove the doll race mod, but that would screw up one of the recruits I have.

Cool model, cool concept, irritating as all get out when you have to deal with more than two at a time. They're not dangerous or difficult to dispatch in any sense, they just spam their dialogue the entire time. Very annoying to ever come across as your screen fills with useless dialogue boxes going "WIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" "CLICK CLICK CLICK" every second. They'll even spam dialogue when they're crippled and unable to shoot. It's not as though the players need some indicator that these beak thing sized creatures are shooting at them, they stand out like a sore thumb in all zones they spawn in. Sniperbots are silent and are just as dangerous.

For some reason every time I am in the areas where Thrashers are supposed to be, it says "Model not found". I also run Recruitable thrashers mod, maybe that's the issue ?

There is a patch for recrutable prisoners for it, because they are technically people with crossbows. They swap to martial arts when up close.
The only downside to the mod I am talking about is; It gives them infinite ammo. Which- is- both horribly unbalanced to both go against and have on your side.

there is a separate mod that allows you to recruit them with recruitable prisoners-
although it has some bugs- you're unable to place them in skeleton beds, meaning they will degrade overtime- maybe a good thing due to how strong they are. also you get to keep the cpu and sell it, as taking it out of their inventory wont kill it once recruited.
