QuarantinE I haven't managed the mod in quite some years now. What you can do is just remove the files that are not related to the map in the mod folder and that will remove the UI elements.

can we have a standalone mod for the map? liked that aspect of the mod but the rest felt really out of place and more like Outward than a post-apocolyptic IRPG.

赵小乐 Yes, I did make a few sacrifices here and there on the map, I can't shrink it either because it will shift everything out of position. If the map is difficult to work with for you, you can simply go into the mod folder and delete GUI_Map.dds to revert back to the vanilla one and keep the rest of the UI colors.

Thanks for author's efforts,and I have some suggestions:
1.The color of icons on the map is too much familiar to the background color to figure out quickly,hoping a highly identifiable color.
2.The edge of map is hidden by the new beautiful frame, hoping release.

Tumor I do have plans to add the regions and names at a later date as that requires some work and right now I am doing a whole new map from scratch. Yeah, there are a few compromises to this UI here and there since there are text colors I can't change in the game.

look nice but can you do something about the map? the items are blocking out several placse of interest on the map. Especially the sword hilt is right on top of Cat Lon's home

I'm with STUPID👉 I'm testing out the color pallet, the issue is that some of the text colors can't be changed and it becomes illegible vs the background. If I manage to hot that right spot I will post it here ^_^

spacefiddle I've done a few tweaks to the background graphics to display the text in all areas. Reload the mod to check if this works better for you now. I also added a few borders to the icons so they pop out better vs the surface they are used on.

ZinogreTW The issue with most UI mods for Kenshi is the fact that the text color is not editable for all elements in the game (ex: game saves window). If you look over the other existing mods you will see a pattern of emerging issues. I will probably try a darker version after I make sure I can balance this one to look and feel ok :)

spacefiddle can you send me a few images (imgur) with these issues in the "bugs" discussion section so I can have a look over them? To be honest I never play on high resolution on this game as my PC is kind of slow, so on lower resolutions I don't have any issues. The map ornaments are placed as much as possible to the side. I mean I don't think they cover anything important, but if they do I will make modifications to them if they are overlapping relevant objectives on the map.

oh, sorry, there was one other thing - the sextant and sword are actually covering parts of the map... any way to move them aside, or maybe scale them down some?

Similarly, the player icon and arrow on the map has all but disappeared. Maybe that was intentional and you didn't like it, but I have to zoom in super close for it to appear at all, and it's really hard to spot. I'm constantly zooming in and out when I'm looking around the map now, or setting a destination with it.

Those are a few things that make it hard to use or navigate, but that's pretty much the only issue. Overall big improvement, thanks for this. And comments have a stupid 1000 character limit. lol

@FoxyAndris great work, the "talk" mouseover made me laugh, the extra motifs and decos are excellent. However... after a few hours, I have to say there are some contrast issues.

In a few places, the background has changed to very light or very dark but the text wasn't swapped, so for example the Relations screen is all unreadable, anything you click on in lists becomes invisible, etc. Also the detail on the Pick mouseover is very nice - but it's invisible against the ground or rocks. The character customize screen is also very dark and busy and it makes the character very hard to see. Unless they're like, Irish-pale ;P

Proud Wingman I have an older map that does exactly this. It's not up to date though, but it has the names and borders on it. It's too much work to be honest and I like to mod for fun :)

This is an old map I made before the last part of the map was released. It has the editable .psd file in it if you are brave enough to build it to your heart's desire:

I should mention that the dimensions were a bit different back then so you will have to re-import the map at it's current dimensions to fit the game window.

PRO TIP TO PEOPLE BROWSING: click on the UI element screenshot, the downsize in the preview makes everything super fuzzy. In the full-sized image you can see everything is MUCH sharper, especially the dragon motifs.

Navi nvm, I will upload a separate mod for the loadingscreens as I realize there are a lot of extra steps for players to do just to filter out the content.
