UPDATE:

After years of trying and failing to redo the model, I decided to just try and fix the missing textures. It should work now.

You need to do it that way because the hull mesh only has the bone for the hull. I specified the order in the description for this very reason.

oh,...the guns to the hull. i did not thing i had to do it the other way around

Did you bonemerge the hull into the guns or the guns into the hull?

i have tried the advanced bone tool, the options to turn the turrets dont show up.

You can. Use advanced bone tool or Reworked bone tool.

i did some tinkering and its one of the Ships bodygroup Skins that are broken there are other skins that are just fine

When they are done, they will be released on the workshop. For now, I am working on Missouri and will probably need to redo either Bismarck or Yamato next.
