Thanks for the update! I just loaded ATS with the new 1.57 update and no issues or crashes while loading. It hasn't rained in my sim yet, but I assume all is good to go! Thanks again for the fabulous mod!

I just stay at 1.56 beta untill this mod is updated.
I think its hard for modmakers when you have many mods to update in Time, everytime SCS Ruin your hole Work.

These ** said that they had changed the protocols for registering rain and snow particles! And accordingly, the mod does not work. But there are no drops on the glass even without the mod.

Updating version compatibility not solve the problem. We should wait author's update. I am bored to see again and again how SCS every patch broke the well working mods.. Old players know that default game is just a firewood

I try to update the mod as instructed in one of the previous comments, but it just crashes the game. No mater what i do the mod either says it's incompatible or i make it so it is compatible but then it crashes the game.

Fixing the crash on ATS 1.56 with Realistic Rain

You can make the mod compatible with version 1.56 by following these steps:

1. Go to your mods folder:
..\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\270880\1787294046

2. Copy the folder named 155_content (or the latest version folder you have) and rename the copy to 156_content.

3. Open the file versions.sii with a text editor such as Notepad.

4. Locate the block for 155_content and duplicate/modify it to match 1.56. It should look like this:

package_version_info : .156_content {
package_name: "156_content"
compatible_versions[]: "1.53.*"
compatible_versions[]: "1.54.*"
compatible_versions[]: "1.55.*"
compatible_versions[]: "1.56.*"
}

5. Save the file and restart the game.

The mod should now appear as compatible and work without crashing.

Yeah it needs a 1.56 update. God knows why only these truck sim games mess with mods with each update. SCS needs top sort it out.

My ATS 1.55.2 (oculus) was complaining about this being incompatible, inside the mod manager it was still saying version 5.0.1 in the detailed info box, but 5.1 in the mod menu itself. Unsubbing and resubbing fixed this for me. Just in case someone else might run into this as well.

I have it fixed

I had an old copy of 5.0.1 which only went up to version 1.54 of ATS which I copied to the 270880 folder. I started the game and resubscribed to Realistic Rain 5.0.2 which includes version 1.55 of ATS

The mod now shows as active and green and on version 5.0.2 while still being on version 1.54 of ATS

I have unsubscribed and resubscribed many times but it is not working in the mod manager. It shows up saying 5.0.2. with no picture

I then exit the mod manager and then go back into the mod manger and it says 5.0.1 with a red exclamation mark and no picture

Not sure what I am doing wrong or it might be a Steam issue

Directional rain does not blind one side window so much over the other. in fact even with wax on the windows irl they become quite blurry to look through even with light rain. I understand the directional rain but like Kass's weather mods they understand that side window visibility is not meant to be good. Thing is your raindrops look 100x better than his does. To make this a truly "realistic" rain mod you need to add more distortion to the window not getting directly hit with rain drops. Its so odd to see one window just blur and the other have like 30 drops on it. I just needed to say something on that matter. If you combined your drops and Kass's approach toa lack of side window visibility then this mod would truly deserve to be called "realistic". Bottom line I love this mod and appreciate it very much! Even with no changes I will still use it until a better one is made. Congrats becoming a dad!

The option to update the files yourself doesn't work/anymore. I tried, I followed everything but it doesn't work. As another one said below, ATS doesn't recognize the mod in the mod manager. Now we just have to wait for an update. PS : Congratulations for your baby!
