You should try to put the UI mod last, and this on top of it. I use Stripped UI and it seems to work as intended. Let me know how it goes after you switch the order. Hopefully that will fix it.
It would take some trickery to get the map to update a region as well as the position of the town. There are files that have the town sprites in them, but I am not sure you can increase their size etc. Someone would have to have a look at that, but I doubt that will be me, since I have moved on to other things. I might out of curiosity have a look at it at some point and see how far this stuff could be stretched.
So here's a step by step:
Find the Dark UI mod from the steamapps/workshop/content folder. They're all numbered. Kenshi is a certain number, and all mods are numbered.
Copy the dark UI number folder, and plant it in the mods folder in the kenshi directory. Rename that folder to exactly what the .mod file is called. Then find the "gui" folder, and find the map, and copy the map image into the dark ui folder in it's exact same directory.
After this, paint it all black. Then find another file in the gui folder that has all the icons. Add a black square on top of all the map icons you want blocked. Test in game, and tweak the dark areas if necessary. Voila, you have Dark UI black map :)
I'll let you know what you need to edit once I get on my desk top! You don't need to import or anything, and you will get dark UI to your game.
complete succes, all in 2 minutes of modding. wow.
simply my favourite kenshi mod.
So nevermind my previous question.
You can do it yourself though, it's fairly simple. You just gotta edit the file with the icons, and make them all black.
Anyways, one thing that would further this mod would be to disactivate the location popup(not what you have talked about earlier, but regions popup, like in: BAST, or THE OUTLANDS, the big font that pops up whenever you enter a new region)
as for darkUI, how hard must it be to set the UI to black with white font? If it's doable via the editor, even I may give it a try tonight.
I was looking into removing the whole map, from the game, but I'm not sure that's possible. One might find a way to move the map off screen, and I will definitely look into moving the location discovery notifications off screen so you won't get popups notifying you when you are near some location.
I'm in the Rebel Base for some rest, and I forgot from which direction I came from lol Damn it
I want to get lost on my way home, I want to take shortcuts into beakthings nests, I want to approach skinbandits to ask for directions^^
I'll post a message here once I hear from him!
it's a bit masochistic but exploration really gets enhanced, like x9 billions, and...we may even have to start drawing our known location's map on paper^^
sucks that dark UI does not work, please try your best to get the author's permission, it's a must have mod, and for now I value his mod over yours, out of habit.
