Muy bonito.Me encanta la arquitectura de los templos mormones.
A ver si hay suerte y crean más para llenar mi ciudad.

I know I'm late to the party, but this is a beautiful building. Great classical form for something completed in 2016 - wish we could get back to designing more buildings like this.

The night lighting looks much improved :-)

I did update the night screenshot with the toned down lighting, I guess I could throw one in there of the door haha

How's the new door coming?

The Salt Lake Temple is definitely coming, I am going to make every building in the 'Temple Square' in Salt Lake City, for my own personal city, so those are next on the list.

@AnarchistMetalhead I agree, and thank you for the feedback. And @Marxisbae haha, Nothing. I made this because someone asked if I would make it for them. I am not even Mormon, so I do think it's kinda funny everyone thinks I'm just out to make mormon buildings, and I keep getting more requests for them. I actually don't want to be seen that way. I am making Mormon buildings right now only because I am trying to recreate my home city of Salt Lake City and as you can imagine, it's full of them, and then I got a couple one off requests, one for this temple and the other for the Wisconsin Capitol, after I had made the Utah Capitol of course. But yeah, no money here and no religious ties to making these buildings for me.

you are probably right in the theme of Utah and LDS churches attracting fewer people, not many have a personal attachment to that, nor is it world famous for architecture.
but apart from the details john pointed out your models are of quite high quality already.
if you created Notre Dame de Paris in its original design you"d likely have an abundance of subscribers in very little time

How much did the state of Utah pay your for this?
jc21539 May 10, 2019 @ 6:06am
Also, worth saying that I REALLY like this one - definitely stepped up your game, and the normal mapping looks great. Just needs a tweak or two.

I just sent you a friend request - let's take this to PM. I looked at all the buildings in-game and the majority of them are 90% there, but there are a few issues and most of them relate to getting the models game-ready, and not the 3d model itself.

This is super helpful, I had no idea about the sub 192 scale, This makes me want to go back through my assets, especially my capitol buildings, and redo the illumination maps, you are absolutely right that it would look better and more realistic if done properly. I just think the low subscriber count is because my assets aren't that good haha. Still trying to get better. I also thought that it just might be the type of buildings I am making, mostly Utah buildings with a few outliers that were requested, like this one. I'm sure Utah isn't the most popular locale to have buildings from. I look at other peoples assets and I'm amazed, especially now that I know what it takes to make them, so I understand why my assets are as unpopular as they are, but I'm having fun with them.

I think that if it makes sense for all the windows of this particular building to be lit because of the nature of the building, by all means, keep them lit! You are the artist after all :) It was just something I noticed in the screenshots of this one and your previous ones, along with what would seem to me to be pretty low subscriber counts compared to the overall quality of your assets, and that stuck out as a possible reason why. The illumination system in this particular game is a bit wacky with the two different levels and the way they operate on different timing, so I just wanted to make sure you were aware of it.

I actually think it looks fine for this building and other ones that could be basically one large open room, it makes sense.

I found this guide to be incredibly helpful for me: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=681420742

Thank you, and thanks for the advice, I am still trying to improve with each asset I make. For this one you are right, I left them all at 255, my thought process there is that Mormon Temples are literally brighter than the moon at night, probably visible from space. My first few assets are probably all at stagnant as well, I think I had set them all at either a 235 or 245 when I was first starting out and learning how asset creation works. For my more recent buildings, the Zion Summit Condos in particular, I did leave some unlit and others at different levels typically ranging between 215-255. But I seriously appreciate the input, and if you think that it should be adjusted even for the temples, I am happy to do so.

You have some really attractive buildings, this one is a great addition as well! Keep up the great contributions, and have my upvote :-)

A friendly suggestion: the one thing I've noticed about all your buildings is the illumination mapping - from the screenshots, so correct me if I am wrong, it looks like all the windows are lit and probably at a consistent 255 rgb. Mixing it up between lit, unlit, semi lit, and using window scene photos edited in photoshop/gimp to be on either a 128-192 grayscale level or a 192-255 grayscale level (or a mix of both, ideally) adds a lot of realism to an asset.

But either way, nice work!
