The mod is a bit glitched with the new version. You get errors with the edict costs that makes your empire sprawl the percentage cost increase. Not unplayable really but definitely annoying

Unfortunaly I do not have a lot of time to actually play the game right now, just trying to keep the mods up to date for people to use.

So probably just publish your mod on steam and ask the people for input. There are for sure others who are interested in this kind of mod.

Thank you I will for sure be working on this as slower expansion and areas of unclaimed space between you and an alien race is more realistic. Stellaris doesnt do a good job of making space feel big! So thanks again. Would you mind play testing it and give your input on value adjustments?

I do not know any mod that does the opposite of mine, but it is quite easy to mod this by yourself. You just have to edit a single file with the mod: 00_defines.txt, lines "EMPIRE_SIZE_BASE" and following.

Looking for a mod that is up to date that does the opposite? I think admin cap is a great way to simulate how big the universe is. I should be fighting a civil war with my colonies by the time I meet my first alien (HALO SERIES).. Lower the base admin cap and bonuses would go a long way to creating that feeling.
Do you know a mod that solves this for me? Do you have one already made and I just cant find?

omg thank you so much for the update!! This is one of the most important mods for my game! :) i hate empire sprawl sooo much!! Especially cause the AI mostly ignores it too and grows without boundaries ... so why should i not do the same? :P

Info on 2.4 update:
Due to the new launcher, I'm unable to upload the new version of the mod like I used to, I will have to investigate this issue further. I will upload the update as soon as I know more.
Nothing has changed ragarding the data though, so the 2.3 version can be used without any problems.

Works fine for me, saved my game after applying the mod, exited to main menu, reloaded save, everything the same as when i saved. It is definetly being applied properly, checked my leaders tab and each leaders upkeep was no longer penalized, credits breakdown properly showed the amount of upkeep from the leaders without sprawl applied (because im under the threshold now). Same with research costs etc. Mod works properly.

There's something weird going on. I've disabled all mods because I'm tired of the issues. I googled and seen that some mods will turn themselves off when they show they are active. This is what happened to me when I uninstalled/installed the mod multiple times.

Side note: It did start working again randomly but I've disabled all mods since then now.

I investigated the case myself with my own save games. Everything worked fine, none of the issues you described did appear, the leader's cost and anything else was correctly modified, turning the mod on and off did not break the save game.
So I think, the issue does not lie within my mod, atleast not alone, it might be an interaction with other mods or due to your stellaris installation.

This broke my game. I cannot modify my sprawl at all now after removing and re-adding and loading different saves. I now have 90 Sprawl, using 73 but I have -20% on almost everything...

Confirmed. Do you have to start using this before you start a game or does it just mask the penalties? Seems like the penalties still exist but you can't see it so it's just an illusion. My upkeep for leaders before the mod was -13% which brought my upkeep to 18.08. With this mod activated, that did not change. It should be 16 now but it isn't.

I just added this mod and when I loaded my save, there was no change in my upkeep costs from what I can tell. About to test it again.

Can you add an possiblity to customize epire sprawl cost? Maby like a more events mod in edicts? For example with 0.1 accurancy? It will be realy nice.
