For anyone curious, for me "UI changes" manifested in missing buttons - so you cant interact with primitives at all, after you've built the station.

There may be related UI changes in 2.3. If there are, you're definitely looking at a risl of CTD. Code wise, the mod should be fine. Test it, but make sure you've got the save backed up if it's valuable to you.

I was starting to think I was crazy or had a different borked version of the mod.
Eh, I can relate. Switch computers after working then notice a bit of code missing. Turns out I forgot to push a couple changes before leaving. Little different, I guess haha.

And ofc the difference in output between normal/independent missions is a nonissue. I don't mean to tell anyone how to make their mods, and I only mentioned it because of my confusion...

I suspect in the rush to get v2.2 out, I didn't finish a code review that was needed. Or I just got fed up with the whinging over the ethical restrictions and tore them out. Or both.

Interesting. I'm now taking a look at the code and yep, where the hell are the ethical restrictions? So I stand corrected. It's a dev build that's been live, and you're quite correct that means there's a disparity. Consider me eating humble-pie and I'll look into it.

Er.. emphasis on apparent. I had another comment that explained more, but I deleted it after I saw you deleted your first comment.
The apparent disparity comes from " Cannot be used by:fanatic spiritualists... ", but fanatic spiritualists, etc can use it--without having to toggle independent missions.
Also in your quoted excerpt, "If you want to have these missions with fewer ethical restrictions ...", but there are no ethical restrictions; any ethos can do any mission--independent or not.

Note that some costs and output of missions are changed when you use this." <- Which is exactly how the mod functions.

Ethos restricted mission = upkeep/output type A. Non-restricted mission = upkeep/output type B. Whether you feel that upkeep/output between types is inconsistent, is an opinion. The difference is the difference defined by the mod author.

I like the mod, but...
There isn't any check for ethos for either mission. Check the "alphamod_missions.txt" file and look at your potential={...} and valid={...} blocks.
The output from "We are guardians" vs it's 'no ethos' variant is inconsistent; one produces 0.25 influence + 10 society, the other gives 10 unity + 8 society. I don't understand this. The same can be said for the upkeeps.

Is there any chance you could remove the restriction on fanatic spiritualists/xenophiles/etc? or make it optional at least? I wanted my fanatic spiritualist imperial cult to come down to the primitives and make them serve and worship them as the star-spawn prophets of the Elder Gods, but looks like that's not happening :(

i dont know why people did this to you. But is a big loss for State of Lies will be missed. Dont know how to play now without it. Hope this will resolve soon and we can onc again enjoy your mod. Keep it up. Dont let them win! Cheers!
