Technically, if I'm the host and some laggy bastard joins and makes the game unplayable, they're getting kicked with out without the mod, so it does indeed have no effect on those players. It DOES have the effect of IMPROVING The experience of anyone who isn't playing with a toaster tied to a clothesline, but that's another story.

Thank god there are so many people complaining about "kick for ping" function here, i can basically see an autokick list by names

Modded realm only?

While I'm normally strongly against kicking people based on their ping, I can see you've at least gone through great lengths to make this mod relatively fair in a number of ways, so for that I am appreciative of those efforts.

While someone who is lagging will not increase the "ping" of other players, the game gets less responsive and all sorts of rubber banding and re-syncing happens for all players in the game as it fights to coordinate what everyone is seeing on their screens.

This affects aim, hit boxes and jumping puzzles, so yes it does affect other players in the game when someone is lagging.

This mod only affects custom games people are hosting. Its the host's right to decide who is playing on a server they are hosting. All this does is automate an already built in feature.

The fact it does not affect quick-play matches makes it acceptable to me. If you want the bonus quickplay xp then theres no auto kick, makes sense.

This mod will do more harm than good to the game, shouldn't ever be approved.

Why doesn't this work for hosted quickplay? That's where all of the Search:Far, 400ms Russians/Chinese are

This is a fantastic mod, I don't see it getting approved though for many of the same reasons people hated the NGBTO mod for Payday 2, it did similar things and the amount of people that will complain about people using it will outweigh the number of people wanting to make use of it most likely.

@Kenlek, Any amount of ping doesn't bring more lag than any other client connected to host.

@SkacikPL, I don't blame you for making this but there's a reason why Fatshark didn't include this concept and we know, you know why. If a host wants to ban high ping, then enable a Vote kick them as it should be.
I hope your mod doesn't become Approved. No offense.
Kenlek Feb 9, 2019 @ 12:52pm
Those who comment that they as guests join with high ping, for instance > 200 is not a problem are dead wrong. YOU then bring lag to all the 3 other players. That is just hot host driven games works. So why should we put up with people playing with shitty Internet lines? Why should we put up with people connecting from their phones or other stupidity?
This is a grea tidea. And it is not as if we cannot legaly kick players anyway. It just makes it fair as a host to have this automated. If you really want to play with shitty I-line, host yourself!

Well, as it's a player hosted game i respect each hosts right to choose for himself.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You don't get it. You (and others) must not decide whether one should play with you just based on one's ping. They should decide it for themselves. A ranged character with 300+ ping still may be a great party member. If a melee one moves the game forward and has great survivability but has a 250+ ping, it's not your *** business. People play Vermintide for fun, but not for being judged for ping, and your option to autokick players doesn't add any "quality" or makes one's experience better.

>Making it automated also makes a high probability that a player gets into infinite connect-kick loop.

Not really because the violation count is reset upon kick and even if player reconnects, you still will have to trigger X amount of consecutive high ping violations again.

Plus by design this feature is not available in quickplay, so playing that mode ensures your experience will not be affected.
Custom games are marked with appropriate tags in lobby browser so you can choose to not connect to those.

> This mod is intended for hosting players who care about both their own experience and the experience of their client players.
> High ping kick

Wha

I almost never find a host with ping < 200 ms, but it's ok to me as a player and means nothing to the host. In any way, I find it discriminating when someone is deciding for others whether they should be able to play. Making it automated also makes a high probability that a player gets into infinite connect-kick loop.

I hope it never gets approved.

There is no need to rush, most of the devs will be on leave for next couple of weeks and even by then next sanctioning wave won't be even in preparation for next 30 or so days (or more).

I am certain they'll let me know about how they feel about this when they get around to it.
Spacer Jan 1, 2019 @ 5:52am
Okay. Maybe try commenting on a developer's profile, especially the one who left comments on mods about approving for sanction.
SkacikPL  [author] Jan 1, 2019 @ 4:51am
It does not really violate the rules, it makes exception for quickplay, lowest ping limit is set to 250 miliseconds and the watchdog is only active as long as vote kick is allowed.

I would much rather wait for developer's input on this rather than people making guesses.
Spacer Dec 31, 2018 @ 8:49pm
Please change mod to not violate rules! <3

While this idea is deffinatly good, it is never gonna be approved, one of the requirement for sanctioning was for it to have no impact on other ppl playing without a mod, and well kicking players kinda violates that rule pretty heavily ;)
