Hey Haruka & Lord of Liberty, just letting you know that I've just posted this mod to my workshop with region-specific pictures such as various jungles/ Tuscan hills/ arid terrains as well as fixing the terrain localisation when you hover over a province. The version I used came from @alandalusi7 but that is an expansion of this mod-- check it out if you're interested.

Torquemado I know you commented on this over 6 months ago lmao, but the reason it doesn't work is because of how terrain data is stored. To make a province have this nice art, you have to give it a special terrain type within the file, of which said terrain type is then matched to the specific city's lovely art. Terrain is important in EU4, it can determine battles, how many buildings can be built, and how much mana it can take to develop a province. This is why editing a province's terrain breaks Ironman unfortunately. Hopefully in EU5 or a future patch they separate more of this stuff

This mod is gorgeous. Why it doesnt work on ironmode precisely? Maybe someone we could help.

I think your mod breaks the germany/hre mission tree, since 5 farmlands are required from the poland region, i own the whole region, but can't fulfill the mission because of how this mod does the custom city images.

If your screen resolution is smaller than Full HD (1080p) then you cannot see the terrain images in province view.

how do i view them? I only see them during battles so does this require some mod or DLC?

I wish the graphics were unique for contients - its pretty unimmersive to see Asian depictions of forests in Africa, or Europe.

I've made it work (I think)! Head over to my workshop, check it out and give feedback. For two months I've kept this on the shelf, because I overlooked a simple technical issue!

@Warwick yyeah, I might as well do that. I am busy at the moment, but anyone is welcome to take a look at it and try to make it work. Strangely enough the terrain pictures do'nt work as a standalone, but it has worked when I have copy-pasted it into this mod's files.

@Haruka and @Lord of Liberty, can I contact any of you through PM or otherwise? I've created an add-on mod which builds on your terrain file, adding two dozen terrain pictures from anywhere between Morocco and Malacca and would make a nice addition to your work.

I wish you update this mod. This is best mod which enables us to be more immersed in this game. If you update more cities such as Baghdad, Hamadan, Damascus, Ancara, Tripoli, Torino, Bordeaux etc, It'll be great. It's bit obvious that special terrain pictures are mostly in Holy Roman Empire. I wish more cities in other province get unique terrain pictures too.

In terms of bugs I noticed that some terrain in Eastern America is labeled as Steppes and given the Steppe picture, I think you should watch out for this to avoid giving them a picture of nomadic huts. Also giving the New World its own marsh pictures with crocodiles or alligators would help.

This is a really good mod, but I have a few recommendations. First France needs more terrain pictures. It had the largest European population for a majority of the game's time frame, because of this I would think it's easier to find pictures. Here's a large list (in no particular order) of provinces/cities in France that should have pictures:

Toulouse, Armagnac, Bordeaux, Calais, Picardie, Rouen, Montpellier, Orleanais, Reims, Brest, Tours, Nantais, Lyonnais, Poitiers, Caen, Marseille, Nice, Labourd, Maine, Anjou, Valois, Aix, Avignon, Chartres, Dijonnais.

Additionally the Caribbean & Eastern America could use some love. You could get picture of: Lexington, Concord, Philadelphia, Maryland, Connecticut, Hudson Valley, Baltimore, Chesapeake, New Hampshire, Newfoundland, Québec, Alberta, Hudson Bay, James River, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, Guadalupe, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad etc...

Compatible with MEIOU and Taxes?

It breaks some of the missions when u need provinces with specific terrain.

Can you please add a note that the unique terrains do not work with the adaptive combat terrain age bonus? For example if you're France you will only get the +1 bonus in Paris itself and not in any other Farmland province^.
