If Sonic is too big, here's what you can do. (For "QWERTY" Keyboard users anyway)

1. Press the [~] on your keyboard, that will activate the console
2. Using your mouse, Right click on Sonic, his code should appear above the console.
3. Once Sonic is selected, type 'setscale 0.4' or 'setscale 0.40' onto the console with the keyboard, and press the Enter key. Once you've done that, he should be a more accurate size.

If Sonic is too slow for your taste. Then go to the console and select Sonic if you haven't already, and type 'setav speedmult' after that, type in one space and any number over 700. Then, press the Enter key. After that, he should be able to run much, much faster.

For the record, you don't need any other mods to do this, other than the obvious Sonic Follower Mod above you...

Sonic is still -technically- playable with this mod. All you have to do is find out what Race the follower Sonic is. Which is HeavyWeaponsGuy_Race

Soo~ Type in console commands Player.SetRace HeavyWeaponsGuy_Race

Too big? Player.SetScale 0.5
Too slow? Player.SetAV SpeedMult 315
