Hey, I'm stuck at the "Beyond this hall a test awaits. Face the door and tempt the fates" part. I CANNOT read the directions on the note on any pattern. With 2UL.D I've tried Up, Up, Left, Left. Down - Up, Left, Up, Left. Down - nothing works, I end up bumping to a wall. I don't even know when the steps start to count. Any tips?

I'm stuck at the cellar of trials at the button that keeps telling me access denied. I found a note which indicates a direction sequence which I assume is related along with the corresponding button after the teleport that 'erases your steps'. However I've not been able to figure out how to piece it together and get that gate to open.

I'm gonna revive this mod! I'm writing a story that's very loosely based on it. And I'm gonna put a link to the mod at the begining. Hope that's okay. :)
Though if you ever feel like it, it would be awesome if it was recreated for LoG2. Anyone?

Tryssa, again I apologize for not checking in. Your issue may be more dire. The mechanism is really simple, when you pick up the book, it shuts the door and begins the history talk. At the end the door should open automatically. I couldn't imagine why it wouldn't open but upon further review of the dungeon I found there is a potential bug if a person happens to put an object back into the alcove the history book came from, and then pick it up again it would cause the counter to advance and then when the story ended it would not open the door.
Unfortunately I think Tryssa will need to revert to a saved game.

MLE-lou, I am not quite sure which key you are referring to. If you found the riddle you then open the door with the pull chain just to the left. Follow the directions on the riddle and at the end of the room is a button. Push the button and if you followed it correctly the grate opens and you get a key, if not a portal sends you back to the start. There is a wall button near the start you need to push to reset the counters if you get portaled back. If this doesn't help I will need a little better description.

I must offer apologies to the previous posters. I have not checked in for quite sometime as I thought this mod had pretty much run it's course. But it appears there is still an occasional player or two stopping by. I will check in more frequently.

Hi there! Could I ask for some help? I'm currently stuck in the 4th level I have access now to the door by the riddle with the up,down,left,right directions. But I can't actually get to that riddle, and I am denied access to the key in the back of the adjoining area. Did I miss something? Thank you btw! I am having the time of my life with your mod!

anyway i left your mod allready. Riddles like 2ul.d.2r. .... are anything bit interesting or funny. No walkthrough means you have to go a very complicating way as a player and ask in these threads waitin for answers hours or even days. How can you play normal ... and the next trouble comes soon :(

The fuckin gate in front of the teleport will close too fast!!! I am stucked allready that early. Why the heck modders love too make riddles so harsh???

Glad you enjoyed it a.elfwind. To make the heir would have required some modeling and artistic skill which I don't possess. I have been teaching myself 3D modeling since making this mod, so maybe in future mods I might be able to produce better results.

Finished it! Great! The boss fight was interesting. :)
Though I have to say that after that, it was kinda antyclimatic... Was hoping to see the heir or something I guess. Still, it had great story. :)

a.elfwind One other person I know of have experienced this problem. I have gone through the code and tested for hours and can not replicate it. Basically there is a hidden floor plate halfway between the crab cage and the ogre cage which should trigger a 30 second timer. At the end of the time the grate should open. Try walking back into the crab cage, wait a few seconds then walk back into the ogre cage. 30 seconds later the last grate should open.
If not, then try jumping into the pits which will put you back at the altar, then walk the path again. If you can make it to the ogre cage then you should be able to get past the last grate.
Please let me know if any of that works.

Okay, one more question. Let's hope it's the last one. I'm doing the third of the master's chalenges. Found my way to the center, got the three gems, makign my way back. Only, how do I open the last grate? How do I get out of there? Help please?

a.elfwind, that puzzle was my attempt at being clever. Not sure it worked. The clue is in the wall text which says three is perfect because it can have peace and strife. A note on the floor says he found the levers but was missing something and referred back to the wall text.
the peace is the two levers, the strife would be something not a lever. Look for a secret wall button to go along with the two levers.

a.elfwind, since you have made it through the gauntlet of fire, that tells me you have already been on that square before because there is a wall button you would have needed to press to access the area you are now at. Hint, get back to the level entrance then retrace your steps. Solution: drop down in the pits which will take you back to the level start and go through the portal nearby there to get the key.

It's on level 3, the halls of worship. I'm on this crossroad. On the left and right are trapdoors. The one on the right I already closed, but I haven't figured out how to close the one on the left and beyond it, there is the key, I think it's an ornate one, but am not sure. And I believe I need that key to progress.

Thanks. I actually thought there was more to the two statues. However, it appears I'll have to ask for your help again... Now, there is this pit. And on the other side is a key. And... The problem is, I haven't been able to find a way to close that pit... Any hints? Like... In which part of the dungeon to look. But please, don't tell me 'exactly' what to do. :) Thank you in advance.

a.elfwind, I believe you are at the "Gauntlet of Fire". All you have to is dodge the fireballs to proceed through the level. There is a secret in that room also. there is one square you can stand safely in after the dragons, but before you leave the room. The fire balls stop when you get in that square then you can go back in and find the secret. If you leave the room a grate will close and you have to dodge fireballs again if you want the secret.

This mod is great. Only, I'm a bit stuck. On level four, there are the two dragon statues that spit fire. And... What am I supposed to do there? I honestly have no idea. If you could push me in the right direction?

tramatPKC, Yes you have found a bug. It happened to one other person that I know of and I went through and readjusted the HP of the Master. But it still appears he can be killed prematurely still. I am sorry for your disappointing ending. At this point al you missed is the later parts of the fight and the ending story. If I had more experience I probably would have built a fail safe in, but that was beyond my skills at the time. Here is the story ending if you wish. The group kills the master, Bartheus transports them to a room with the child, game over. The three secondary people return the child while the main character heads to Stonespire keep with the druid stones . Thanks for playing.

Ok, I'm certain that I've found a bug now since I'm unable to advance at all. I started the game with a previous team so my rogue already had assasination available. Now, after Bartheus summoned the master in the masters chambers he came at me pretty slowly so I thought I'd attack him from behind for extra backstab damage (I didn't want to stand around until the dialogue was finished either). And then he died. One hit. Then the dialogue stopped barely after the second or third line (where he tells his minions to awake), Bartheus didn't do anything and everything was quiet. So, I'm stuck now. Or rather was since I had no previous save file (my own fault since I'm the type who only has one) and I didn't have the willpower to redo everything again so I uninstalled. So to get to the point: The mod was great so far, but you should make the master resistant to assassination or have failsafe script or something.

Oh, so it only triggers when you misstep and try to "cheat" and backtrack that from that one wrong tile? That explains it, I think. I thought it would trigger everytime you made a mistake. Pardon me then. Just hoped I could be helpful back there :)

Hi Tunasteak. The crooked man riddle is a clue to how to reach the grate. don"t run straight at the grate, jog to the right one space. There is a hidden plate if you go straight or to the left . Glad you are enjoying the mod.
TrammatPKC. Every square will not trigger a punishment, only after you have stepped on a grate that you have done correctly previously. Really meant as a memory type puzzle. You have to take the correct route all the way to the end to open the secret and get the dagger.

Hey, Cheers Loving this mod so much! I feel that your emphasis on story is great so far, imo it really takes advantage of how already Grimrock is immersive in its enviroment. Really looking foward for more dungeons from you.
I am stuck in the forth level due to the portculis near the "Crooked man" riddle, any time I press the button to open the portculis it closes without time for me to pass through it, could you help me out?

Ok, nevermind. The path I believed to be the correct one was just a trick. Nonetheless, after trying out (hopefully) every possible misstepp one could make I confirmed that many of them didn't trigger a "punishment".

Plus the grates don't seem to care wether you're taking the right way or not. Judging from the note I anticipated "punishment" everytime I misstepped, but I could just run across with just the light changing to red at some point. However, I did get electrified when I tried to take the previously correct route back (the truly correct route, not the just-running
-across route)

Hey. First of all, great mod you made there.
But now the business: I believe I have found a bug. Namely, it's regarding the Crossing puzzle. The apparition tells you to get him some sacrificial dagger, but when I made it across the grates I only found a pair of Nomad Mittens. Is there something I missed or is this indeed a bug?
