Hey Sloth.... Replayed this after 10 some years. Good puzzle!

A little tricky, but not too hard. Thanks for creating.
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 22. juni 2014 kl. 10:37
University; fairly short on time for months together. I'll add it to my queue for the next time I play Portal 2 which may be a while away.

Hi Sloth, I haven't seen you around the workshop in awhile?! My new map if you're interested http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=274408196

Thanks. I aim to make chambers short but not trivial.
Yavie 20. juni 2014 kl. 9:13
Have to laugh at myself here... I walked in, got the cube, opened the door and started heading over to it and was thinking "was this his very first chamber? this was dumb".... Nope, I'm the dumb one (: Easy chamber, but elegant solution. Proves that maps don't have to be huge to be enjoyable.
Brave 1. aug. 2013 kl. 18:27
Thanks, i'll try both a little later and leave feedback for you!
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 1. aug. 2013 kl. 18:25
Hmm. If you want broken hard then Ladder to the Stars , but if you want sensible hard then probably something like Franken-Cubicide . Thanks for your interest.
Brave 1. aug. 2013 kl. 18:21
Tell me whats your hardest chamber, and i'll play it?
Brave 1. aug. 2013 kl. 18:19
Easy chamber, but i liked it!

Sounds like you got the perfect experience. :)
EuroSong 24. juli 2013 kl. 13:11
Excellent! I was stumped for a couple of minutes as to how to get over to the exit - but then it hit me like the obvious solution it was :)
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 1. juli 2013 kl. 18:35
Thanks :D
ZneX 1. juli 2013 kl. 18:32
Hey Sloth... Thumbs up but not as difficult as your others. It was a nice diversion though to keep the spirit high ;-)
raycelbelmond 18. juni 2013 kl. 13:02
The second part is interesting. Nice. Thanks. Try one of mine. Raycelbelmond

This Is Pretty Tricky Cause the answer is hidden in plain sight
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 17. juni 2013 kl. 12:08
I'll add it to my queue and play it soon.
Freebird Solo 17. juni 2013 kl. 12:07
thanks. btw, just published a new one. not difficult in a puzzling way, but requieres some skill with goo. have fun!
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 17. juni 2013 kl. 11:52
Perfect, well done :)

Freebird Solo 17. juni 2013 kl. 11:23
i'll link a video
Freebird Solo 17. juni 2013 kl. 11:23
i'm not sure i solved it CORRECTLY however
Freebird Solo 17. juni 2013 kl. 11:21
Much better. Still difficult, but not bullsh*tly hard. Good job!
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 16. juni 2013 kl. 19:33
Glad you enjoyed it, that's what it's for :)
Near 16. juni 2013 kl. 18:07
ah man this chamber is fun and so confusing the 1st time
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 14. juni 2013 kl. 14:03
Fixed, thanks.
Bad_Aim 14. juni 2013 kl. 13:49
Yup, that's a good solution to the issue, and it puts on a nice fireworks show for you with every dropped cube :)
I would suggest turning the fizzer field 90 degrees though. When I went into the pit to test it, the faithplate keep flipping me into the fizzer emitter. I had to get off and back on the plate a couple of times to get out.
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 14. juni 2013 kl. 13:18
I published a new version where the goo has been exchanged for a pit with a faith plate at the bottom. No getting stuck, and the cubes are clearly fizzled. I think it's kinder than an open goo pit when the more obvious goo pit is grated off.
Bad_Aim 14. juni 2013 kl. 13:10
Yeah, I'd lose the fizzer over the goo. It makes it seem like there is supposed to be more going on there than there is. The cubes will keep auto dropping until the player grabs one, so there shouldn't be a question about whether it's actually been destroyed on not.
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 14. juni 2013 kl. 12:40
If you found the fizzler obscured the goo then I'll rethink it, by the way, so please let me know.
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 14. juni 2013 kl. 12:39
Oh, yes, I remember that quote now. Excellent use of it :D

I put the fizzler over the goo because I wanted it obvious that the cube is destroyed, but I also wanted to make it clear to the player that they SHOULD NOT drop in after it. So the goo is to stop them getting stuck in a pit, and the fizzler is to take away the motivation to investigate the pit in the first place.

If it were a more central place on the map I'd have elected to use a fizzler pit with some steps to let you out, but it seemed needlessly attention-drawing to do that here.
Bad_Aim 14. juni 2013 kl. 12:36
Haha, yeah, it's a quote from the first Shrek movie :)
Oh, I was meaning to ask, why did you put a fizzer field over the goo pool that the cube falls into? Seems redundant as the goo will kill the cube.
Solig 14. juni 2013 kl. 12:34
I appreciate it Bad_Aim :)
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 14. juni 2013 kl. 12:31
Also, 'donkey on the edge'. What a phrase. :D
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 14. juni 2013 kl. 12:28
Thanks!
Bad_Aim 14. juni 2013 kl. 12:27
I went back and solved it correctly. Very clever and definitely not obvious(to me at least). I figured out how to get on the exit platform sans cube on button and spent much time trying to get the cube on the button from there, which might be doable, but involves a lot of iterations and luck. Once I gave up on that, I just needed to work out the sequence to produce what I knew needed to happen. Nicely done!
Oh, I also ahead and tried Soligmong's method as described below. You're a donkey on the edge, man, that's some hard core cubic parkour! I like your style.
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 14. juni 2013 kl. 10:14
Given that that is more complicated and involves a deeper understanding of portal physics than the intended solution, I'm going to leave it in there. I'm certainly impressed by the creativity of the solution.
Solig 14. juni 2013 kl. 7:53
Just because of how well built this chamber is i beat it again but this one is really out there. So you have to get the cube out properly but then you smash it really quickly onto the button so the button saves in place then you have to get on top of the glass panes then jump to the window, all the while holding the cube, then drop down to the lower section of the window and cube jump over to the exit.
Like i said its not exactly broken but you just seem interested in a variety of approaches :)
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 14. juni 2013 kl. 1:47
Oh, you people and your cunning airstrafing. It seems I forgot the odd interaction between airstrafes and funnels. Also, special props to Soligmong for coming up with the cube throwing. I've edited it out now, but a nonetheless impressive approach.

Both airstrafing and cube throwing should be fixed.
Solig 14. juni 2013 kl. 1:21
So if you're good enough you can portal into the funnel room and actually throw the cube through the portal by the ceiling, put it on the button then use the funnel to get high up and just airstrafe to the exit
Bad_Aim 13. juni 2013 kl. 23:47
That was a fast and fun chamber, thanks for suggesting it! I'm not sure that I completed it as you intended though. Once I put the cube on the button, I used the orange beam to bring up to the ceiling closest to the exit, jumped out and air strafed over to the exit platform.
As you say you like small chambers, here's my smallest one.
Dr.SodaPop 13. juni 2013 kl. 22:54
P.S. I edited my Chamber, I'd appreciate if you gave it another go. Tell me what you think later, and if you like feel free to add me. http://steamcommunity.com/id/SpartanSubject/myworkshopfiles/
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 13. juni 2013 kl. 21:36
Thank you. Feel free to browse my workshop for more or follow me if you enjoyed the chamber. I'm usually trying to produce small chambers with simple elements which require a bit of thought to complete.
Dr.SodaPop 13. juni 2013 kl. 21:08
Visually pleasing, tasteful puzzle, thanks for this.
Sloth.ps  [ophavsmand] 13. juni 2013 kl. 20:33
Thanks! Good luck with your chamber.
