so when it comes to making paper?, it needs (wood and water) cut trees, get wood logs.... chop logs give sticks, or make logs into lumber, but how do you get just plain wood? so you can use to make paper.

@Notfresh, I am looking at the FCS right now and IW does NOT provide a free Camp Bed (Fabrics), it requires a sleeping bag and it has 1 build material cost.

If you want to post your mod list in the bug report thread above then maybe we can try to help you out, but your post is both dramatic and I have proof it's 100% wrong, so step up and show some respect for modders who put a lot of time and work into creating these mods.

Hello, I have been working closely with this mod and I feel like you are mistaken about the no cost camp bed (fabrics). Interactive world does change the name of the vanilla sleeping bag, but it should not change the sleeping bag requirement. It does provide a no cost leaf bed sleeping option but that has only a 150% heal rate. No, if you have 500 mods I think one of them is providing your no cost sleeping bag.

I know this is old mod But! I keep searching for hours end on my 500+ mod i sub, for big problem that kill any immersion that i have in kenshi. that was free building with no cost(Camp Bed (sleeping Bag,(fabrics) 400% healing)):steamthumbsdown::steamthumbsdown::steamthumbsdown:, making all material i collected completeling useless! i can' t say this enough. it make completely useless to play all together for exploration content. I highly don't recommend to any player new and return alike.

got question. why is the firepit dim? it doesn't glow unlike the torch or campfires any other lights. i tried replacing the firepit light with the campfire and yet it still dark. if i zoom it out, u cannot find the firepit but the campfire is easily located... was it the mesh or did i missed something? or it conflicts with other mods?

This is a brute force patch that will lose some of the shine of FASTR, but in essence I copied FASTR, matched up the foliage layers that were tree buildings in IW, reverted those changes, then merged that into this mod.

This does not account for the new FASTR trees which are only a small fragment of the toal types. "Oh well, you're going to have to find something else to chop on." It does also not account for any other resources if they are having issues.

Brute force, but in my testing trees that were not working before are now. Please let me know any issues and I will work to tidy it up.

Put it after FASTR and run with it!
Check out my branch of IW, IWK+, it's a cleaned up more vanilla version of IW.

hello Huehuecóyotl ! for all the work we are doing on the interactive world overhaul, we are kind of shying away from gunpowder type content, at least for now, then patch it back in.

However if yo are sticking with OG interactive world I will try to come up with a solution for you in the next few days, ok?

Is there a way to get black powder materials if you don't settle where it's common? I know materials are an important consideration in base location, but it also heavily restricts where you can settle if you want it to be a normal part of your loadout. Maybe a mid level tech to harvest small amounts of it from mined stone, as an inefficient but stable way to produce it if you don't have outcroppings near your settlement?

This mod makes it so that building materials in Interactive World : Kenshi + (IWK+) are back to the default of using two raw stone, instead of one stone and one lumber.

Yes! I have seen your mods, great work! and if needed intend to make patches to bring at least some of them into IWK+ especially the rope mod. Some of them likely work fine as is but for vanillaization purposes we are pulling out everything to do with firearms but hope to add them back in with an optional patch.

There are also a bunch of patches I've made a while ago to expand Interactive World, things like using carbon to produce steel bars, or using saltpeter and sulfur to make blackpowder and ammos for the Shoddy Firearms mod, as well as a rebalance of all food items. :)

I don't think they are all fully compatible with the Synergy Patch though, but you can give it a try and if they don't work togheter then maybe you can re-use some ideas for your mod. ;)

@MandalfTheGreen yes you can use all my Kenshi mods if you want. I am always happy when the community are expanding Kenshi. In Interactive World most meshes and textures are made by other creators. Ask them too, so nobody gets mad. They are all open minded, so I think they wont say no. All meshes and textures are in folders named after the creators in the Mod. So it is easy to find out who made what, or just read the description. I listed all of them.
I have also uploaded an unfinished Interactive World mod with some new ideas and a cannibal tech tree, perhaps you can find some usefull stuff there. If you need help just ask.

Hello, Mr. Stupendous man! Thank you for this mod, it is an amazing testament to what Kenshi can be with a lot of work and imagination. You have sparked my imagination and I would like to take this mod and "run with it" as they say.

In general you seem to be open to letting others utilize your work as long as they ask and give credit, so I am humbly asking if I may take this mod and pieces of this mod, and work with them to respectfully integrate Interactive World into Kenshi in a balanced way.

I would love to get feedback and work with the community on this (Tonechild! are you listening?)

Guys, you need to do the "research box" in "Camping" options. Select "Camping" en click the arrow until you see it.

Then, using Survival Books (buy it in some shops like Mechanical or Travel, etc), research in "Survival" branch.

There, look and will see the path to vanilla techs.

Love this mod, I'm assuming the vanilla campfire that is free (ew) is still available when you research vanilla tech? IF so, I'll probably make a patch mod to make sure the vanilla campfire doesn't break my immersion :D

Two questions: 1) this mod only hides stuff behind research, correct? It won't straight up disable content added by other mods, needing a patch to fix it? 2) custom starts and starts added by other mods need patch in order to correct unlock stuff, right?

@ANU the chopping stump is a "building". You need to construct it like the other crafting stations from this mod. I don't remember in which section is situated but it's NOT a resource and you don't have to find it in the world. You get logs from any tree and then you craft sticks from logs in the crafting station called "chopping stump".
