This thing is a blast to use. Really makes it look like a real cargo terminal. I had isolated lines going to multiple spots around the map. The only problem is that the tracks don't all work for import/export. It's strange that sometimes I'll have no trains going to a particular track and other times there will be a line of trains for it. Almost like the game randomly decides which tracks to use for import/export every time you load the save.

May possibly have been affected by base game changes some time between 2020-21. Mini Cargo Station Strip seems to have been affected too. Apologies if I'm talking out of my posterior.

I've been subscribed to this for two years now and I still haven't actually used it. Haven't even completed a city in all that time. But this is still one of my favorite assets simply because of its elegance and purpose.

@ksymicek: you connect the tracks so that only one track's destinationRegion on the map is another as from a other track or connect all tracks at the end of this station together )like the right/wrong-Image) ??? you should not connect far away the tracks together so that this tracks connect far away from this station. build your tracks like a tree

@Meef : It could be that in the respective other regions of the connected stations there is no need for goods to be transported from/to this station.

I've gone through and read all the comments. I have tracks from all different locations of the map, without splitting or merging going into the station but can only ever get 2 of the tracks working. Do you have a more detailed or labeled diagram some where that I can refence?

@BierPizzaChips : In the Future i want to build (m)any assets (props,parks) so i sets so players could use this for beautifications. one project is the connection to the outside at the map-border. i play without fog and so i see the cims,trains, planes and this is what i dont want and so i want to create for any scenarios any buildings for this situations.

Hi Gamerfrog. First at all many thanks for your feedback. I achieved good export and import behaviour for multiple lanes with this station - no additional mods needed - which by it's appearance is best at all a proof of concept:

Long term i prefer your approach of having an empty template to be filled by the gamer.
So i really like what you have done here. Maybe something changed meanwhile inside CS?

@BierPizzaChips : Can (and probably will) be that in the exact region where you built this train station, no goods are needed for direct import.

@BierPizzaChips : if you use stations with more tracks, there is/was a mod we have to need for this. I don't know if this mod actually a "must have".

@BierPizzaChips : just tested it. after 3 minutes the first freight train arrived at the station and imported goods. however, the train entered the outermost track.

@BierPizzaChips : it could be that CS does not really recognize this station as a destination for imports or that the import requirement is in another region. As a track for the external connection I would try to use the 1st track on the street, maybe it will work with this that trains from outside bring something in.

Export appears to be fine. But i see no import.

In my city each platform is connect to only one far away counter station, mostly the Double Track Cargo Station. Originally i used multiple stations in the map's centre for these connections, which cause some crazy train spawning clogging up everything.

What am i doing wrong? (Btw: I did not find any multi-platform support mod for cargo, so it is just this station and one counter part per platform - line.)

That's exactly what I want. I like having bare assets I can customize rather than having what someone else wants. I wish I could make my own.

@Sasquatch : This is what you can do with an asset, they have no building inside, use props and create your very customize cargoStation. This guarantees the greatest fun while playing because then you don't have a building in the asset, which may not really appeal to you as a player.

@GamerFrog : I just spent all day building a city to test several things. Don't have enough industry yet to move any cargo. So it may be a few days before I get to finish. I have the station hooked up to outside, four different industrial zones, and a commercial zone.

At that time I couldn't build any 3d objects either and now I could put up a small building, but I also believe that if you don't include a building, the player can design the area 100% himself using PROPs and much more.

@GamerFrog : I'll build a city to do just that. This is exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for, a plain railyard that acts like a real railyard and transfers cargo from one train to another. It will be fun setting up isolated lines to see if it works.

more important is also the complete picture how you build your city with cargo trains and passengerTrains. For example, I build byside on every station, cargo or passenger a additionalTrack,so trains they dont want use the station,they cross by side. if you couple your internal cargoTrainTracks with this station, you can reduce the truckCount.

every cargoStation should connected very well. most of players use a one-way-street. you can test if a street of the backside of this station also used by trucks. i created a little cargoWay so a backsidestreet should work, so your trucks can use the frontside AND backside of this station. i know from drosovilla's cargoStation that there use the trucks front -and backside but it looks not so good if the truck cross the wall from station. ;-)

Thx for your answer. My question isn't about directions but the the importance of the truck traffic in front of the station. If i use your station as my main one in my generic industries area in order to desserve several different commercial areas, the amount of trucks trying to reach the station should be enormous... do you have any video of the station at work ?

my opinion is, the mod where you can handle more as the standard-station-tracks (in the past it was MultiTrackStationEnabler 1.2.0, it have a newer Mod since month), this station works. without any mod like that, it should not work like the other stations with more as one track dont work.

i tested all tracks and at all tracks were used. rule is, do not merge the tracks together and split them anywhere. the game must use more. if you merge, the game will only use one or two. if the tracks go in different areas of your map, the game must use the tracks. if you merge and/or another track goes into the same area, the game will only need always one track and so you had one track too much.

How many tracks do actually work ? I read somewhere the game limitations are 2 working tracks, i tried it out and only the most outward track functions, any thoughts ?

you should connect the Tracks so that every Track run in another region of your Map, so should be use every Track. If you connect all tracks together and split them anywhere, the game could use only two or one Track from this CargoStation. Please let me know any issues.

Die Gleise sollten auf zumindest einer Seite nicht komplett gebündelt werden und irgendwo auf der Strecke wieder gesplittet werden, sondern sollten nach dem CargoBahnhof in verschiedene Regionen der Karte weitergeführtr werden. So nutzt das Spiel nicht nur ein oder zwei Bahngleise des Bahnhofes, sondern alle.
