@RidiculouslyCheesy: Nope, it's up to the developers at Facepunch (though I think only one person actively works on Gmod anymore) to do anything about it.

From what little I know, raising the flex limit any further would break flex compatibility with Gmod's networking code, so it's not a priority since making sure it plays nice with that requires more than just making a number bigger.

@RidiculouslyCheesy: Gmod only supports up to 96 flexes. It's an engine-level limitation and there's nothing I can do about it.

Some of my models have too many faceposes, and wont let me use some of them, is there anything i can do about this? or is this a base gmod problem

So,weird thing is that I downloaded this but I disabled it to use a TF2 face poser but now its stuck on Enhanced faceposer Ive uninstalled this but it still is stuck,any help?

Not planning on touching the categories, but you can collapse a category for a model by clicking on the blue bar with its name.

Randomize inverted flexes button seems to do nothing. Also do you think you could add an option to disable categories? They can be inconvenient on certain models

@DoomliBug: I think the default faceposer would likely give the same error as it got a bit of an overhaul to its UI in this update and it sounds like it broke something that tool depended on.

Hm... So, it seems the issue lies with some incompatibility with "Composite Bonemerge Tool". The tool basically adds the flexes of bonemerged models together. When I try to use faceposer on these models, it was working prior to the update but now gives the error: "[Enhanced Faceposer] lua/weapons/gmod_tool/stools/faceposer.lua:357: table index is nil"

DoomliBug: The changelog for the Gmod update says
"Fixed faceposer breaking after 384 different flex names were loaded in a session - The limit is now 1024 and and if it is reached, a console warning is printed."

So it's still possible to hit this limit, though you'd need to have a lot more ragdolls loaded than before and you'll get a warning printed into the console when you do.

@YellowCaballeroFan: A bug was fixed with flexes not working due to the engine hitting a limit with the amount of flex names being loaded at once (384), which is being more than doubled in the next patch. It's safe to say it's been the cause of this issue, especially since anyone using more than a few custom models with unique flex names can hit this limit quickly.

If you want to opt into the beta branch and see if it's fixed before the update gets released in (hopefully) a few days, you can find the details HERE on how to do that.

@YellowCaballeroFan: It's a known engine issue with Gmod so there's nothing I can do. Thankfully it should be fixed in the next Gmod update.

Sometimes when I use the Faceposer, it doesn't work, except for the bottom option that just distorts the face. How can I fix it?

@ANGRY MARINE #8: Something like that already exists. The Composite Bonemerge Tool can allow ragdolls to go beyond the standard flex limit but they have to be specifically built around how that tool works and will only be fully compatible when using that tool. Given that very few models have been released with that tool in mind, it's safe to say it's not a great solution to the problem.

why don't you guys check if you have other addons that conflict with this?
also, be sure to run the game on 32-bit, and not 64-bit beta. a lot of people switch to 64 because they "heard" it's good. it is in Beta tab for a reason. some stuff works, others don't. so, 32-bit is stable and doesn't have much error.

here's a thing i'd like to share : if you spawn too many models in one map, and these models are like different in terms of anything, some tools will break. i think there's a reason why there's a spawn stuff limit at the beginning before you load a map.

turns out another addon was causing the problem. idk which one, since I had installed three other tools at the time the issue started, but all is good now.

@Zaku II: This was updated with the latest changes on the same day of the March 2024 update so it's not out of date. If you have several tools broken since the March update you probably have something wrong with your Gmod install.

the latest update to Gmod has affected several tools I use, including this one; I am unable to access the list of facial flexes like before. I've not yet tried the normal faceposer, but I hope something can be done either on your end, my end, or somebody else's.

@life360sucks: Did you see if it worked with the default faceposer tool? I've used the enhanced faceposer on plenty of models that use non-standard flexes and they work fine.

In my experience dead flexes are an issue on the default faceposer tool too, and usually mean that the model doesn't have its flexes set up correctly or there's an compatibility issue between the model and Gmod.

It was much higher before I think, disappointing that they lowered it... Not even a command to increase it or anywhere I can find to increase it. Looking up on the internet I see no discussions about flexes or increasing them :(

Hey is there any way to use the faceposers above 96? Ive been having a issue recently where garrysmod without this mod tells me there are too many flexes, when I install this mod though it does unlock then but unfortunately the sliders dont affect anything on the ragdoll :(
Is there any way to fix this?
