@Otoya you're doing something to make most of your generals women then, if you're not playing Kush then you shouldn't be having so many female generals
Otoya 24. apr. kl. 7:24
Thank you. Without this Rome just becomes a number cruncher with a thin veneer of theme. It breaks immersion like crazy if like half my generals are women. Whoever thought it was a great idea to put modern propaganda in a historical piece must be the reason why creative assembly is going to sheet.

This is more realistic than setting it to zero and other mods that completely remove any semblance of women in the game.

It's sad, it sounded like an interesting mod.
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 12. juli 2021 kl. 11:16
Great Romans was last updated in 2015. It's bound to have some issues, especially when used with other mods. It's a miracle it even works. The DB tables it uses for modding are very different than the last update for Rome 2.
Hannibal Magus 10. juli 2021 kl. 16:32
I think it was "Great Romans"

@Hannibal Magus
What mod was it?
Hannibal Magus 10. juli 2021 kl. 10:56
Lol. Indeed. But to confirm it was a conflicting mod that caused that strange bug. I deactivated the other mod and patriarchy mod is working normally again.
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 10. juli 2021 kl. 8:22
@Hannibal Magus
You know it's a patriarchy when the men start marrying each other :D
Hannibal Magus 10. juli 2021 kl. 3:28
Almost certainly not a problem with this mod, but rather a conflict with the large number of other mods I have running. But funny bug.

No females at all. All male characters appear married to ... other males =D
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 12. apr. 2021 kl. 18:02
@Yews
That's ridiculous. Sadly, I can't add back historically authenticate characters without altering the startpos.esf file.
Stay Woke \[T]/ 10. apr. 2021 kl. 9:35
Thanks, hope this works. I always execute female generals but this should save me the hassle
Yews 10. apr. 2021 kl. 7:59
I once complained on Rome II Steam forums that random made-up chicks (like Neferukekashta who's the queen of Cyrenaica in the game) replace known historical people (like Magas of Cyrene, the real life king of Cyrene) in Grand Capmaign. CA removed the post and warned me that my behaviour wasn't acceptable and that repeated 'offenses' will result in a ban

Best mod for rome 2!

@Capybara Frenzy
I think it has something to do with if you enable female generals, the faction leader becomes the oldest sibling alive. So it will start with a lot female characters as faction leaders (because of CA's starting settings). But over time as those characters are either killed off, you will see more male characters.

The problem is if I mess with starting positions for characters (and changing female to male) I think that might conflict with TPY StartPos mods. I'll see if I can work around that.
FireFly 11. dec. 2020 kl. 7:28
Little update: I think all factions that can have female generals gotta start their campaigns - same thing happened to me with Nabatea. Nevetheless, thanks for the mod and updates!
FireFly 6. dec. 2020 kl. 22:48
I see, thanks for answers! For now it's 50:50 in Nabatea, don't mind that, just wanted to know.
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 6. dec. 2020 kl. 15:13
@Capybara Frenzy
With my recent playthrough of Pontus, I found that you must start a new campaign for the changes to properly work.

Saxoni may have issues because it's part of the Empire Divided campaign. I may have to manually add each faction in the game to the tables to resolve that issue, but I will eventually get around to it.

Nabatea and Saba have evidence of having female queen regents in history. If it's happening too often, I can modify the spawn chance.
FireFly 6. dec. 2020 kl. 1:09
I think the game is a problem here: bug with Pontus still exists and now similiar occured in my Saxoni campaign (the button for army tradition does not work). Weird.

Also: did you change something with Nabatea? Because now I can recruit loads of female generals, while in the begging they were not present (I am about 60 turns in).
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 27. nov. 2020 kl. 15:22
Patch 1.1 is here! Not only can female rulers now use their skills, they are also given traits if they are the faction leader.
FireFly 25. nov. 2020 kl. 9:11
Great to hear, thx for answer!
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 24. nov. 2020 kl. 13:38
@Capybara Frenzy
It's a bug that is possible for me to fix. I know what needs to be changed. I'll change it sometime in the future.
FireFly 22. nov. 2020 kl. 1:54
Is Pontus bugged? Because you still can recruit female generals and if they level up, it is impossible to allocate the points (buttons are greyed out). Or maybe it is vanilla bug?

@Oatman I should have recognized Peterson as I've actually watched the debate of him and Sam Harris several times now on YouTube and I must now belatedly concede how subtly clever that was of you to use that image as the avatar for this mod. As for making innocuous apolitical statements which disclaim any ideological agenda, I honestly am unconcerned with motive and am of the opinion that the ends justify the means when it comes to mods. That being said, in this hyper-sensitive environment of fragile sensibilities and a capacious capacity for righteous indignation, I understand your treading carefully with how you represent the factors which inspired the mod. Thanks again for conferring some measure of historical veracity upon a game which had been so crudely and unjustly abused by the invidious forces of generation Woke.
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 22. sep. 2020 kl. 19:38
@general_maximus88
It was my mistake to use Jordan Peterson as the image of this mod. I used it as a meme, but I didn't intend for my mod to be political or be used to infer my personal beliefs. The mod is not a critique or meant to be political, but I found the female general spawn rates blatantly unhistorical.

When Patch 19 came out, I noticed there were no other mods at the time that reduced the chances of female generals so I filled the demand for myself and many others seeking more historical accuracy. Nonetheless, I'm glad you enjoy the mod.
George Reptiloyd 22. sep. 2020 kl. 11:14
@general_maximus88 Bro, you just posted cringe

Brilliant mod sir and I commend you for having the requisite audacity to challenge the prevailing cultural/social norms through the implementation of this fine mod. I was encouraged to see that a consensus of steam gamer's seems to concur that the revisionism of the wokeness has no place in the TW franchise which we all know and love as being (mostly) committed to preserving the authenticity of the civilizations which it attempts to recreate. Get ready to make the next corrective mod which will have to address the arrival of trans-gendered generals for all factions.
Nart 31. juli 2020 kl. 5:21
Thanks
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 30. juli 2020 kl. 15:34
@Nart
Celtic female generals should be rare, but this mod does not change the factions that start with female generals because of Creative Assembly.

Here's a great mod that removes female generals completely if you never want to see it:

Sweet. Love the mod! Thank you.
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 24. juni 2020 kl. 18:17
@Texan214
To be safe, I would make sure the mod overwrite's whatever settings Radious Mod uses.
There are still female starting generals and leaders at the start of the game, but once those die, you will see less. They're unlikely to spawn. If you still see female rulers and generals 50 years in, they are likely the wives of faction leaders and generals taking over, but this is unlikely.
DakotaDad214 22. juni 2020 kl. 0:40
Should this be loaded before or after radious mod? I am still seeing a ton of female starting generals. Should this mod remove those too? Or do they no longer spawn after they die?
Oatman  [ophavsmand] 9. juni 2020 kl. 22:54
@Viktor Reznov
Yes. I'm pretty sure this works for all DLCs.
