For non-RD maps, follow these steps:

1. Create your own server in Redead with 8 players (maybe +2 is enough)
2. Type 'sv_redead_dev_mode' in your console.
3. right mouse button to select the type you want add (eg info_npcspawn to add a zombie spawner)
4. When you're happy with your setup, type 'sv_redead_save_map_config' in console.
5. If you have a navmesh for your map, the zombies should already be working. If not, search it in the Workshop. If it doesn't exist, you'll need to first enter sv_cheats 1 in the console, then nav_edit 1, and finally nav_generate. The map will reload automatically.
6. Press F4 to make the zombies spawn.

you have to use RD_ maps something

I think that doing this will make the addon work for you: set it to 8 players and don't use sandbox maps, because the zombies don't have a specific place to spawn.

How do I start the game mode and make the zombies appear, because I want to play it alone and not have the zombies appear? Can someone please explain to me how I do it?

also when i played with my freind both of us are zombies for some reason

also are the zombies only in this gamemode or can i download an npc pack for them so i could just play with the zombies

it dont work in single player i bought css and the zombies wont spawn they did on the first map i played on but the next no zombies spawned and i kept exploding and reloading the map i had to restart my computer

Then you didn't have it enabled within Gmod. One way you can check is by loading up a singleplayer Sandbox session and trying to spawn a CS:S gun. I think you *may* also need HL2 + Episodes for the zeds, but I'm not entirely sure.

I also run, like, the only ReDead server on Gmod. It doesn't get people often, but occasionally it does if you wanted others to play with

@Rat.Nugget It does say right above what it includes that it does require Counter Strike: Source, which is why you are missing gun models, etc. Also, yes, you can play the gamemode by yourself, but the default number of zombies it spawns per player is something like 3-5 (+ special zeds in addition as the match progresses). Therefore, it's semi-boring to play singleplayer unless you adjust the default number of zeds.

also can you play this gamemode by yourself or do you need other people

why did you say all the content is in this mod its not their is errors for the guns and the zombies won't spawn for some reasons also it does not say any ways to fix that in the description

Most maps do not include a navmesh. You have to generate it yourself.
