I always wondered why the Mammoths gave no fur... Now they do and it makes sense to kill these majestic animals :O
The only sad thing is that the Mammoth Pelt/Fur have no own texture, but I can and will live with that ^^

Why no SI units?
mc_rog46_sd1 Mar 27, 2014 @ 9:41am
The one time I tanned some mammoth hides I only got one leather per hide. What's up?
edbowlegs Mar 23, 2014 @ 8:20pm
I'll give this a try, though so far the only time I came close to surviving a mamoth hunt it turned out to be a giant's pet, things didn't go wel for me. But with this I mod it will be worth trying again. Also as for the weight of the pelt, that's what followers are for.
kurtrhinehart Mar 22, 2014 @ 4:06am
Very useful one this, am having to unsubscribe as it conflicts with other mods (ones that modify what you get from animals), but nonetheless well done. A very good mod which gave me a lot of leather when I needed it.

This should've been in the game in the first place. Makes material gathering for crafting a little easier (yeah right!). Lol. Well, as easy as killing a mammoth in a group of mammoths and giants can be that is.

Lucretia Phantomhive Apr 23, 2013 @ 11:40pm
finally somone is smart and makes a mod like this ty so much now poaching mammoths will be helpfull as well as fun
The Dark Ranger Apr 16, 2013 @ 7:27pm
it should be 5000k and 125 pounds think about it in RL elephant hide is like 3-5 inches think that is like a frikin leather wall and then mammoth fur is so long and warm you can make clothing out of it the merchant you sell that to makes a fortune you should change this up a bit
H Apr 15, 2013 @ 1:23pm
Not getting the pelts from any mammoths with this...
XamaX Mar 1, 2013 @ 8:55pm
lol, you changed it the first time but you contradict yourself in the last sentence XD
Gyribot  [author] Mar 1, 2013 @ 8:32pm
And nobody will ever know...

XamaX Mar 1, 2013 @ 8:25pm
Well it's worth six times the bear hide now, so you could easily just change the description.
Gyribot  [author] Mar 1, 2013 @ 8:24pm
Hmm not sure if that changed in a patch or if I'm bad at the maths
XamaX Mar 1, 2013 @ 2:31pm
Um.. don't bear hides produce four leather? 4*8=32? Maybe it was three?
Gyribot  [author] Feb 24, 2013 @ 10:12am
Sorry about the delays, I haven't been on in a while. Stilgear, I made this entirely with the creation kit and it should be fairly simple to edit using it. RedWolfGirl, it's entirely possible that this mod is interacting with another. Past that, it is also possible that a game update changed the compatability but that's unlikely.
RedWolfGirl Feb 22, 2013 @ 11:04am
I like this mod but for some reason I can't do anything with the mammoth pelts at the rack. Is this a glitch or am i doing something wrong here?
Stilgear Dec 31, 2012 @ 6:18am
Can i do this with the Creation Kit ?
Stilgear Dec 30, 2012 @ 6:18pm
This a really nice mod, but i'am asking if i can rename the pelts to make it match with my game language ?
Cappsbo1 Dec 30, 2012 @ 12:03pm
Mammoths don't run. You camp on a rock and fill it full of arrows, down it goes. Deer are annoying at times. If you spook them, they are hard to get. It takes me about 2-3 arrows to bring them down unless my Archery is high.
Gyribot  [author] Dec 30, 2012 @ 9:55am
If you are strong enough to kill enough mammoths to exploit this mod for crafting, I can't imagine it would be too difficult for you to hunt deer either. This just saves you time. Also, since the patch that based experience gains on item value, crafting exploitation is much less of a concern. Further, exploitation must be done by you, and if you do not want it, feel free to throw away as much leather as makes you happy.
Slinx Dec 30, 2012 @ 2:13am
i kinda agree with MMF, sure it makes sense for reality, but it kinda makes crafting a bit too easy and exploitable, i'd also ask to please change it from 24 to 10 maybe more, 15 is still pushing it
Gyribot  [author] Dec 23, 2012 @ 1:23pm
I made the weight/Value/Leather output as 8 times the same values for bear pelts, in an effort to maintain any intended balance.
Cappsbo1 Dec 23, 2012 @ 12:57pm
Wow 24? Don't you think that's a lot? Maybe 10, 15 max.
mynds.i Nov 12, 2012 @ 8:23am
Thx for this mod - it makes sense!
MikeJoeShmoe Nov 10, 2012 @ 7:09pm
The title made me think of a mammoth going into sneak mode and trying to run away XD Nevertheless! Very simple mod with a great outcome. Job well done!
Timesplitter Nov 9, 2012 @ 6:32pm
Also, I need a professional modder, if you're interested, that can make a very well balanced magic spells collection that will fit perfectly with the orginal Skyrim spells. I am looking for spells that are very well balanced, do not cost too much magicka, are not too overpowered (powerful), and must make sense being added into the game by even Bethesda itself. The spells must be used with perks (adept, novice, etc.), must be logically categorized for a school of magic (Destruction, Conjuration, etc.), must be sold by the correct vendors when the certain school of magic reaches a certain skill point (At 50 destruction, new books are available for purchase by all Destruction trainers that can train you past 50 Destruction), and MUST fit in will with the rest of Skyrim spells. Btw, thx for the mod and please keep updating it. I look forward to seeing your updates and improvements.
Timesplitter Nov 9, 2012 @ 6:32pm
Hey, Great Job on the mod. Just wanted to let you know to keep up on all the updates and improvements of your mod for I am using it in the top rated collection at the moment. Check out "Skyrim Top Of The Line RPG Experience Guaranteed". Been working on it 24/7 and definitely plan on keeping it as up to date as possible with all mods added in the collection.
Grey_Heron Nov 3, 2012 @ 1:04am
And suddenly, drawing aggro from a mammoth is worth it:D Awesome mod. Makes me feel a little less wasteful about dropping an entire mammoth, 'cause now I'm getting more than a tusk and a trunk out of it.
SteelSampson Sep 29, 2012 @ 8:38am
Thanks guys... I just changed the load order. Now Im getting the mammoth hides!
Gyribot  [author] Sep 29, 2012 @ 7:37am
I also use "Real Wildlife Skyrim" and while it does not conflict for me, only about 10% of the mammoths end up having hides. If the author of Real Wildlife wants to add mammoth hides it's fine, but to be honest, my mod is so simple I think it would be in his mod already if he wanted it.
