As for whether it's good against special infected, it does alright against a few in the video on this page and in the video on the 'MP5 replaces M10' version's page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_0LXBe07_g

Aim for the head, and fire short bursts unless it's too close to miss.

What's happening with the left hand thing is that you're trying to use this mod on someone else's server that isn't running it. That's what I mean by 'misbehaviour on-screen' in the description.

Just to add the info, buffed Uzi in Dead Center and No Mercy: 2.130 shots per kill, 0.470 kills per shot. Not very impressive.
Overall until tonight, it was on 3.647 shots per kill, 0.274 kills per shot, making it the lamest by far. Of course, some of that was with the mod and a lot of it was on Advanced or Expert, so it's not quite a fair comparison. Still, double pistols beat the default Uzi.

KXM: More than doubled.

Default 9mm pistol damage is 35. 3.179 shots per kill, 0.316 kills per shot.
Default Uzi damage is 22. No stats yet.
Default M10 damage is 33. 1.896 shots per kill, 0.527 kills per shot.
My MP5 damage is 48. 1.561 shots per kill, 0.641 kills per shot.
My Uzi damage is 48. No stats yet.
My 9mm M10 damage is 35. 1.525 shots per kill, 0.656 kills per shot.
My .45 M10 damage is 40. 1.329 shots per kill, 0.753 kills per shot.
My .380 M11 damage is 18. 2.596 shots per kill, 0.385 kills per shot.
Revised .380 M11 mod damage is 24. 2.051 shots per kill, 0.488 kills per shot.

Stats for M10 variants are for campaign mode on Normal, and include shooting at specials and tanks as well as the common infected. The numbers for the pistols are since I started playing, so they include all difficulties and some other game modes. The .380 version climbs a bit in use but the group stays tight, so it's pretty good for spamming a Jockey's or Charger's head.

Probably you were playing on a server that provided the default MP5 along the way, and that's what you found the first time. If it had a 50-round magazine, that's what happened. Mine has the real-world 30-rd magazine.

"Uzi with messed up animations" is what you'll get if you have this mod in place but you're playing on a server that doesn't. This'll work single-player or on a Local Hosting server if you're the lobby leader.

Erstklassig umgesetztes Konzept. Genau so ist eine MP5. Schön wäre es, wenn es die vielleicht auch mit Trommel - oder Doppelmagazin gäbe? Habe diese schon im Einsatz gesehen.

That's sort of what happens to someone playing on a client computer that doesn't have the mod active connected to a server that is using it. If you're playing single player or you're the lobby leader on a Local Hosted server, that shouldn't happen to you.

As a rather crude way around that problem, try the Uzi as a replacement for the Uzi instead:

That's a problem with the supplied game, unfortunately. The G3 (same design from the same manufacturer, 7.62x51mm not 9x19mm) has the same animation with the same extra time before it acknowledges the full magazine. I have noted this issue on the "we want L4D3" group and a "L4D3 opinions" thread. It bugs me.


arby26 on l4dmaps.com does have an MP5 model to replace the Uzi but it doesn't change the script, and when I tried to combine it with this script to use his model and animation with my mag size, rate of fire and so on, I got invisible gun syndrome, which is never good.

Yeah, Steam's really fond of eating bandwidth allowances that way.

This mod doesn't actually include a skin. The model and skin were already there, just normally only available for German players. What the mod does is tell the game to use the MP5 model instead of the Uzi model.

My preferred method for removing mods was to drag the .vpk file from
Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons\
Desktop\L4D2 addons not in use\
but I think that only works for the manually downloaded ones, not the subscribed ones. I'm not really sure how subscription works, but I suspect it'll notice the gap and re-download. You could copy it across, unsubscribe and then, if it's still there, delete it from the ...\addons\ folder, I suppose.

after I uninstalled the weapon skin,it deleted the old smg model along with the add on.
which has caused problems reinstalling l4d2 and playing the game.
it took me all day to re-install left 4 dead 2

Shadow, that's what happens if it's on the client but not the server. If you want it in multiplayer, you have to make your own lobby, select Local Hosting server and set sv_consistency 0 in the developer console (have to enable that somewhere in options, then bring it up with the button to the left of 1)

No, it's Heckler and Koch's 9mm MachinenPistole 5, built to the same design as their HK33 and HK53 5.56mm weapons and the G3 7.62mm battle rifle and its G3-SG1 variant that's also in the game. The weapon was actually included with the game, but only available to players who said they were German when they installed it. This mod tells the game to use the MP5 model in place of the Uzi model and also gives it rather better behaviour, like the real magazine size and rate of fire and more damage than the pistols in the same calibre because it's got a longer barrel.

I probably ought to have copied the full description over from the M10 version of this mod.

This works if you host the server, e.g.:
Single Player
Play Online -> More Search Options -> Create A Game Lobby -> Server Options -> Local Hosting

If you're hosting online, you should enable deceloper console, go into it and enter this:

sv_consistency 0

... so other can join you, rather than getting booted to main menu for not having the mod.

If you try to use this mod on a server that doesn't have this mod, you'll just get the default weapon reflected to be left-handed.

Just subscribed and tried it.

Works for me.

Open up your add-ons menu and check that you don't have another mod clashing with it.

Also, maybe sv_consistency 0 helps. I get kicked from single-player mode due to weapon_gnome.txt inconsistency ... somehow ... without that.
