Yeah, kept the excitement and reduced the drudgery. On the other hand, for younger players, that drudgery was the point! Simple addition and multiplication exercise it a nice motivational context.

Fair enough. As an aside, thank you for the work you put into this. Our first Stockmarket box fell apart and parts were lost over time. I found another copy in slightly better shape which allowed for more Stockmarket but everyone moved away. This mod allows us to play together no matter where we are and no risk of losing covers, etc. Games are much faster and nobody gets bitter about paying out dividends. "You're already winning.. do you really need it?"

Yes. This is a very common adjustment for experienced players who find the work stage completely uninteresting.

What was the reasoning for dropping the work stage and just starting with 1000? To speed up the game?

corrected some bugs introduced in my recent update. Now correctly tracks turn phases..
turn automatically ends when you hit Buy, or Meet, and when you land on a turn ending space.

Latest version should be a bit more robust. PLEASE if you see an error or are confused, drop me a line...

I can do that; but not immediately. I have a newer version which I will document and publish in a week or two

Nice! I have the original I bought decades ago... never thought I'd see it here. Thanks

Thanks @kclla, My group noted the obvious difference in income from the four "job"s; We modified the prospector to "2, 12, or double 3, and the policeman to "7 or doubles" this makes all the jobs produce equal income in the (very) long run. After about the 10 game, we dropped the jobs entirely and just start with $1000. That is how this mod was set up. Glad to hear about your experience!

Was about to make my own when I found this. We play all the time. We found doubling money earned in 'work' and allowing you to stay until $2000 greatly improves the game. Cuts play time to 2 hours-ish.

I should say that the list of colors is JSON; so for example,
["Yellow", "Green", "Red"]
for a three player game. Order is set by the turn system so that play is clockwise around the table.

I did not integrate the turn system with hot seat. Instead, if you want to do something like that, you put the list of colors that will play into the notes area. (enable the notes with the button in the far lower left corner of the screen. My turn system will then set up appropriately, and you just change colors to move to another seat.

I tried playing this by myself in hot seat mode with four players but am getting script errors and the card on the board that says, "end <color>'s turn" says I cannot end another player's turn. Is this just because I am not playing against other online players?

Undocumented feature: if you drop your pawn on the meeting entry space, the game will track which meeting you are in, and for now just prints the info. (which will be wrong if you don't stop on the entry square. This does not affect your move, just move on to where you were going, and click the move button to complete the action.

Cool! I got mine at a garage sale circa 1975. The box is falling apart.

My Father In Law owns this game. It's so old, probably the original or close to it.
