@Warring Rose I don't know about you, but I'd much rather prefer a halberd for close quarters combat with an Orc than a sword and no shield. Just look at handgunners and crossbowmen, who fall apart like wet tissue paper when a dedicated melee unit engages them, as all they have to defend themselves is a short blade, not even a large shield like the Swordsmen.

i find this line on kv rule table : pike_attack_zone_depth , maybe increase it help spear/harbert fight better

@Warring Rose They don't in the tabletop game owing to the difficulty in pike-armed models (snaps constantly and they fall over easily), in lore it can be attributed to the heavy forest and superhuman enemies of the Empire necessitating a primary weapon usable at closer quarters.

@thaygiaomap2000 I could, but it only seems to trigger on fighting heroes; in all other respects no matter what the weapon length is only the first rank attacks.

Hi! Thanks for this mod, the units are very nice, but they do not seem to benefit from the "+x XP level for infantry recruits" bonus you get when having a captain with the "Exemplar" skill in the army and a Militiaman follower, and the +1 XP from the armory also doesn't seem to be applied. My current infantry gets 3 silver chevrons, Pikemen get 3 bronze chevrons when recruited.

Hue. Actually, that makes me think: would it be possible to take the Norscan javelin models and create an Orc spear-thrower unit? They've already got these nice short spears (used by Goblins) that would work very well for that purpose.

given GW's new artistic direction, adding to the stunning and brave progress we've seen in the industry lately, I couldnt help noticing a lack of diversity in your mod and i thought id offer a few suggestions to get on Games Workshops good side. Developing a Dindu Spearchucking Unit(missle Inf) and a MoonCricket Gibs Shaman(dual weapon inf w/item drop buffs),maybe a -Muh Dick War Cry buff that drives them into a Chimpout model; I think they would really enjoy these additions, maybe even offer you a job.

The only problem is to figure out whether to add them to the Orcs, Goblins, or Human factions.

Given that they are classified as Spear Infantry (same as basic Spearmen) they should receive bonuses from both singleplayer research and general bonuses. I haven't tested this though, it might need refinement.

In warhammer 2 you will basically play warhammer 1 but you will get better skill trees from the Lords if you play mortal empires. the New thing that WH2 has gets boring fast after you sink in ~500 hours in it. Plus you only get like 4-5 races. But playing with the skaven is worth it. You should get it.

As for stats, Radious or another mod must be buffing your units Mustang11. I've checked myself and Pikemen share a health stat with Halberdiers (7440). Shielded Spearmen additionally have just 42- not 49- melee defense, and all Empire spears have 6960 health. Pikemen are not artificially weak by vanilla standards, and if Radious does not touch vanilla units they should be fine there too. I might further pare down the price to 550 or even 500, but certainly not 400, since Pikemen already have quite effective melee ability (though given their lack of AP you certainly want to bring Halberdiers late-game as support troops).

Lore-wise, Empire pikemen are rare but present (I know Nuln has at least one regiment). They are not a core infantry type, but then again this is TW:Warhammer, where you can build steam tanks- so I guess you could say Franz is "modernizing" the Empire's polearm regiments.

I don't use Radious myself but I would be happy to oblige if I was given a good ballpark of what their HP and stats should be like to work with Radious's units.

Can you make another version to balance a bit better with radious units? I love the idea, and even as it is they are still fun to use, even though they have almost no HP by comparison to other units in radious and die quite easily. Even so theyre still fun to use.
