btw I have a mod where I have added numerous NPCs the grey face issue can be fixed. In creation kit select the NPC by highlighting their neme. then press ctrl F4 a message will pop up after about 2 seconds saying Faces have been exported. This might not be correct so look it up there is a way I just havnt been on ck for a while. great mod
NinNin Jun 29, 2014 @ 12:00pm
also, do any of them have names? it would be quite awkaward for my chars to try to talk to them, and have to call them by their ocupation.. " hello, manservant! Would you tell maid to sweep the cellar?"(an hour and a half later..) "Manservant! I thoiught I told you to sweep the cellar!" Manservant: "You told me to tell maid to do that." Dovakkiin: "Nevermind, just don't let it happen again! " see what i mean?
NinNin Jun 29, 2014 @ 10:19am
if your a girl, do you get a regular female servant instead of a manservant?
saunders.bryan Feb 16, 2014 @ 4:01pm
great idea but they didn't do a darn thing for me...lol..just sat around ..stood around...
Allie Sep 19, 2013 @ 11:39am
A great idea and a good start. I really like it. Few minor details still need polishing up tho. 1-they are not very friendly ...perhaps set them to have a good relationship rank with the player so they give the nice comments? 2-They sit around a lot, perhaps adjust this so they look like busy servants.
3-bedrolls on the floors for them somewhere, maybe?
Bigwhitehound Sep 17, 2013 @ 11:24am
Do they have beds or bed rolls? For that matter what do they do?
RexJayden Jun 13, 2013 @ 2:28pm
Makes sense. No problem...I will keep the subscription to this mod on steam and use Jesters from Nexus. Thanks for making these!
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Jun 13, 2013 @ 10:54am
RexJayden: Perhaps. I mainly use Nexus for the mods that are too big to fit on Steam Workshop, but I also try to mirror the mods that do fit on there to achieve a wider audience. I've just been busy with school and other mods.

Wolfdragonheart: Yes.
RexJayden Jun 10, 2013 @ 12:44pm
Going to put this on Nexus?
Corypheus Apr 18, 2013 @ 11:50am
so this is for all houses in skyrim that you can own?
NoahB98 Apr 5, 2013 @ 12:37am
very good
Josemite Mar 27, 2013 @ 11:49am
they don't do anything
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Dec 10, 2012 @ 1:10pm
Warsun: I don't have Hearthfire, so I can't imagine there'd be support.
expogue Nov 18, 2012 @ 5:10pm
or maybe my computer doesn't like me
expogue Nov 18, 2012 @ 5:08pm
But a very good mod
expogue Nov 18, 2012 @ 5:06pm
yea all my females did that still trying to find a base face file to over right to fix because you never know what will trigger it and it is usually a face file over right and you get tired of reinstalling especial since you have to do a clean install "i.e." delete the base file folder and start from the beginning or the junk will still be in the be in the registry if they do please post or link

thank you
Warsun Nov 12, 2012 @ 11:03pm
OK! I just found this mod an i have some questions.Does this work on the homes you build in Hearthfire an are they added to the list of people to hire like the Carriage driver and Bard?
Griff Oct 23, 2012 @ 5:46pm
thx and ya i like that house
just got it to days ago
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Oct 21, 2012 @ 2:16pm
Griffinpackard: I'm a Hjerim user (blasphemy, I know), so I wouldn't know whether or not he's being a problem, but I can check.
Griff Oct 21, 2012 @ 2:04pm
well maybe you make the one man servant in witerun not so mean and making me kill him all the time like maybe giveing him a different dialog
Griff Oct 21, 2012 @ 2:02pm
it is not a typo it means you are right or good point
Griff Oct 21, 2012 @ 2:02pm
touche
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Oct 21, 2012 @ 1:58pm
Girffinpackard: That might be worth considering, but it would raise the question of why the thane has to pay up-front to be served.
Griff Oct 21, 2012 @ 12:58pm
umm i think you should make it so you the cook wil acutally give you food!
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Oct 20, 2012 @ 6:27pm
Bookloversam: They shouldn't be able to use the bed in the master bedroom because that's set to be owned by the player. If the house has a servant's quarters, they can use that.
Griff Aug 19, 2012 @ 4:59pm
rain bow dash thats a great idea i want to make them wear what i want it would be nice to have a bunch of servants in deadric armor it would be so boss
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Aug 6, 2012 @ 2:05pm
Wolvenspirit: It's a possibility.
Úlfur Aug 6, 2012 @ 6:40am
It's cool but can you make em friends so you can make them wear what you want??
SkeeverHunter Jul 3, 2012 @ 11:26am
Great work. i always felt that the thane should have servants.
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Jun 24, 2012 @ 8:30am
Hutchy01: Yup. The maid in Honeyside is an Argonian, just to give a nod to the play ;).

And not to get technical, but in Skyrim, the equivalent of a count is a jarl. "Thane" is the equivalent of a count in real-life Scotland, however.
Statman Jun 23, 2012 @ 6:25am
are there any argonian maids (a thane is the same as a count!)
Ihmislehma May 15, 2012 @ 8:28am
I see. Well, still keep up the good work :)
And perhaps someone in the forums can help you with that. I hear they are often very helpful :D
But thanks anyway.
Sad Cat May 15, 2012 @ 8:12am
always wanted someone to be like my slave.... :)
captainlhurgoyf  [author] May 14, 2012 @ 6:10pm
I'm not entirely sure how to make musicians play music. I tried giving them bard AI, but it doesn't work. I suspect it has to do with a quest, but I'm not sure.
Ihmislehma May 13, 2012 @ 11:44am
It would be nice, if the musician actually played hearable music, but you'd probably have to change their AI and dialogues to one of a bard.

It'd add some nice touch tho' ;D

Oh, and rated up, this is awesome.

ajladyzephyr: Possibly, but I'd have to take a look at it.
AJZephyros May 10, 2012 @ 8:46am
Would it be possible to make the servants refer to you as thane instead of acting like you're someone who accidentally entered their house.
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Mar 15, 2012 @ 1:58pm
I tried to make it so that you could buy servants, but the scripts use for upgrading houses is too confusing for me to figure out, and I don't even know where the part of it that activates the upgrade is. Maybe some day, but right now I can't figure it out. I did try to space the servants out to prevent feelings of being crowded.

Ultra: Is that glitch fixed now? I was under the impression that the grey faces would be fixed automatically at some point, but I suppose that's wishful thinking...
SocialistSpacePirate Mar 15, 2012 @ 6:41am
thanks guys i hope it can be fixxed
Doido Mar 14, 2012 @ 8:45pm
Hi Captain, yes, i now. One bug of Creation Kit. But...why you don't delete the NPC with a grey face? Replace the NPC after the Creation Kit work right.
I really like your mod. I do not like leaving my house empty (although I know it makes no difference, no one will rob my house), but your mod makes me calm. My house will be well. is strange but true.
Another suggestion: Why you not make individual employees pack at home? For example, small houses have only one or two employees, and the big house all five. So small houses would not be crowded and would prevent the Windhelm´s house has employees before buying the player.
(Sorry bad english again)
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Mar 14, 2012 @ 2:27pm
Ultra: The grey face is a glitch in the Creation Kit, and Bethesda is working on fixing it.

Veroth: Since NPCs automatically use things near them, they will occasionally sit down in nearby chairs. However, they should eventually get to work. I've tested it in Hjerim, and everything seems to work.
SocialistSpacePirate Mar 14, 2012 @ 5:52am
hey could you please fix honeyside servants the maid doesn't clean the cook doesn't cook instead he sits and eats and thats all and the musician only plays one song and then stops
Doido Mar 13, 2012 @ 9:04pm
Hey Captain! My Maid in Windheld have a grey face...=/
I think she is sick because of cold... poor maid XD
One suggestion: If a guy is with the gray face, you can not replace it with another? Because this issue does not affect the gray face all NPC's, just a few ... These can not be exchanged?
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Mar 12, 2012 @ 12:12pm
Khan: They have an idle marker to play instruments, but I don't know how to make them sing.
Alertcriminal Mar 12, 2012 @ 8:00am
breezehome isnt that crowed what is everyone moaning about
Alertcriminal Mar 12, 2012 @ 7:59am
is there any way to get the musician to play a song
captainlhurgoyf  [author] Mar 11, 2012 @ 12:15pm
Actually, if it's really an issue I could just get rid of some of the servants in smaller houses...
