Why would Ainu people look Asian? Have you ever seen how Ainu people look like?
Hermerico Apr 12, 2020 @ 2:30am
Can you give Berber cultures Persian portraits?
They are currently misrepresented with Sub-Saharan portraits.

Could you make another mod that has the persian advisors for india? For those of us who don't want the dharma content pack?
R-TEAM Aug 25, 2018 @ 10:35am
Nice :)
MilkAndLettuce  [author] Aug 24, 2018 @ 6:50pm
@R-TEAM I have an update ready to go which removes this mod's support for the Indian portraits, but adds several other culture groups that are using incorrect advisor portrait models at the moment (i.e. Eastern European advisors for the Caucasian group, as they currently use western models, etc.)
R-TEAM Aug 24, 2018 @ 1:29pm
will this be adjustet after the Dharma update ?
(as here we have now Indian advisors ..)
Regards

@Deamron Good suggestion! I've added the generic Muslim portraits to the Andalusian culture as well.
Deamron Apr 17, 2018 @ 11:07am
Ya odd the Indian nations didnt get their own portraits back when they got a Unit DLC
Ever think about giving Granada/Andalusia Muslim or Persian portraits?
MilkAndLettuce  [author] Apr 5, 2018 @ 2:16pm
@星屑 The same reason Vietnamese ones or Mongolian ones do. There's only one set of Asian advisor portraits, and they're shared among all of East/Southeast Asia. This mod only corrects that Manchus use Western advisor portraits.
星屑 Apr 5, 2018 @ 6:41am
BUT WHY YOUR MANCHU ADVISOR LOOKS LIEK A JANPANESE?
MilkAndLettuce  [author] Apr 5, 2018 @ 3:42am
@Friedrich der große Thanks for your comment! The link between the Timurid successor states and the Mughal Empire was the basis for my decision to use Persian portraits for the Indian advisors, so it's good to know that checks out for the other Sultanates of India as well. Obviously I'd like to have portraits to use for Hindus and Dravidians as well, but that will have to wait for Paradox releases an India expansion, I think.
Summary Apr 4, 2018 @ 10:01pm
@Priyon and @MilkAndLecttuce

Most of the Indian Sultanates and the Mughals spoke Persian. They were Central Asian overlords in India. Delhi Sultanate had five dynasties all consisted of Persified Turks and/or Aghans, while the Mughal Sultanate was a Persified Turko Mongolic Dynasty. So as far as Islamic Sultanates in the Indian subcontinent is concerned these advisors fit quite perfectly.

Of course Dravidians are quite distinct (but of course this is a limitation as there are no portraits for them in game). While Aryans (Hindu ones) have subtle yet noticable differences.

Drawing of Alauddin Khalji:

Drawing of Babur:

Can see that both have Asiatic features (Mongoloid race) but dress like Persians and Turks.

Very nice mod!

Whats that map mod youre using called btw?
MilkAndLettuce  [author] Mar 20, 2018 @ 5:04pm
@AlexKing17 I believe you're correct, yes. I'll double-check tonight and update the version number for those that don't want to do it.
AlexKing17 Mar 20, 2018 @ 10:40am
There shouldn't be any need to update this mod for 1.25 right, just changing the version number?
E Mar 17, 2018 @ 9:57am
More accurate than powdered wigs this definitely is, sir.

It does fit Mughals and Delhi Sultanate very well, as they had some Persian advisors.
Μολοχ Mar 16, 2018 @ 7:23pm
Thank you!
MilkAndLettuce  [author] Mar 16, 2018 @ 12:54pm
@Moloch I believe that the Asian advisors may have actually been added to the base game, as I found those portraits in the base game files rather than the DLC files. The issue with the missing portraits is caused by you not having the CoC content pack enabled - I'd recommend simply deleting the "indian_advisors.gfx" file (located in the "interface" folder) and you should get the default portraits back for Indians. If a lot of people have this issue I can make a version of the mod that just fixes the Manchus.

As for help, I used this resource from the EU4 wiki to make this mod, so I'd suggest giving it a read: https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Advisor_modding

@Priyon I actually wasn't aware that there was a difference, I guess you learn something new every day! I think we can still agree it's more accurate than a white guy with a powdered wig though, no?
E Mar 16, 2018 @ 2:42am
The issue is, Indian turbans are completely different from the Persian ones used here.
Μολοχ Mar 15, 2018 @ 2:00pm
Great mod, I think a lot of countries lack their portraits. But, for some reason the manchu worked for me, but the indians show no portraits at all. Could be because I don't own CoC, but I don't own MoH either, and I do own a muslim-advisor pack.
Also, could you help me out with advisor portraits on my Caucasus mod? I've been looking for tutorials on it on the internet, but couldn't find any.
