Crow in the cave on hard was too challenging (didn't immediately make hersirs); I still managed to escape past the giants with Eitri and Brokk.
Would love to change this in the last level (I did check some triggers but couldn't find it yet, maybe I am gonna be busy changing that); Only let the Titans spawn and begin attacking when I start building the wonder, maybe building the wonder should take longer (or max builders). I also saw that there were only 2 difficulties... which only spawn 1 attack of 3 raiders... bummer. Letting 1 Titan and than another 1 shortly follow by 2 on easy difficulty and in moderate 1 and than the 3 others would be a nice change (2 waves of enemies). And maybe Hard diff (4 waves of enemies) 4 titans at once?
Just garbling some idea's to improve it and have a more exciting experience. It surely took a lot of effort. Thanks.
This way, no matter if something bugs out and something stops moving and blocks something or someone else, it will never spawn an insane amount of units and just keep going forever.
...where your settlement is supposed to get attacked by Frost Giants at some point. However, for some reason, they stopped coming, which I didn't think much about... until I finally decided to attack and free the forge. At that point there was... Frost Giants and trolls... EVERYWHERE! Like there was not a single spot that was unoccupied lmao, and amidst them was a very confused King Folstag. I needed multiple attacks (at least 5 waves) of massive Hersir spam (at least 40 units each time) to get through it and finish the mission. THIS was a bit annoying to deal with because there was so many, and Hersir can only deal with so much...
...where the green settlement (owned by Eirik) is supposed to keep attacking your ally's, Floki's, town. At some point, however, after all of Floki's forward buildings got destroyed, the attack groups still spawned in Eirik's town, but stood stil. But they also kept spawning, and spawning, and spawning... so when I finally got there there was loads of Ulfsarks covering almost the entire town around the settlement. It wasn't that big of a deal because you take over the village and become his ally, but it was still mildly annoying that the units were everywhere and didn't do anything except for blocking parts of my new town.
I saw this behavior happen again in
In Mission 6, Up the Mountains, even after defeating Aleinn's settlement in the south the fire giants keep spawning. Ignore this if it is indeed intended. The huskarls do stop spawning after destroying their stuff.
In a few missions, if you take too long to continue, the continuous (or endless) attacks that are supposed to come for you for some reason bug out with their pathing and never arrive / move from their spot. The problem, for me, arises with the fact that new units seem to spawn anyway, regardless of what is already present, resulting in a HUGE clusterfuck of soldiers near their spawn location. I first noticed this in [see next comment... stupid character limit]
The only improvement (from what I can currently tell) that could be done is the spelling and grammar throughout the campaign, other than that this is a solid campaign which to me quality-wise felt like something that you would usually see bundled with an official DLC. Excellent work for something fan made!
Spoiler:
That being said, I found Mission 8 (''War'') to be a bit stressful and annoying to deal with. That temple has so much health AND armor for some reason and getting to it in the first place needs quite a bit of micro and luck to get through all the myth units.
Thanks, mates. It was a lot of work! I'm the only developer, tho. Also, I'm working on a a surprise update. :))
The only criticism would be the lack of space on certain levels, and the pink color of the allies which is too similar to the color of the enemies/neutral sometimes! The messages also sometimes scroll too fast. But otherwise super good work, beautiful maps, good scenario, no bugs. Even if we inadvertently achieve the objectives in the wrong direction, the script take them into account... Happy continuation! Hoping to have a new campaign!
