This is a vast improvement over the in game original, thank you.
Ya Boi's Boy Jan 14, 2020 @ 6:18pm
I'll do that, thanks man. And great mod

No idea sorry, neither I nor anyone else that I'm aware of has had this issue come up before, but if it's happening even when this mod is uninstalled it seems to suggest that something else is causing it; all this particular mod does is tell the game to use the included meshes and textures instead of the original steel plate ones.

The only suggestion I have is to try uninstalling and reinstalling any mods that make any changes to the base game, especially armours, to see if any of those resolve the issue.

So I'm having an issue where equipping the steel plate helmet causes the entire head to disappear. The helmet still appears fine in inventory, but the helmet stays invisible, even when the replacer mod is uninstalled now. Any help?

I'd like to replace all the armours in game with witcher style armours since they look a lot more realistic
Franz Aug 23, 2018 @ 8:45am
How can i create it?
Ardrich Aug 9, 2017 @ 6:13am
you are right. My attention went to the helmet in first place;)
Captain Robertson  [author] Aug 8, 2017 @ 4:48pm
Not really, if you look at it closely you'll notice that it's a mixture of both Gothic and Milanese armour with some fantasy elements added to it... Check out the boots and pauldrons (you'll not see anything shaped like that in our own history)... The base mesh was made for the game Witcher 2 and ported over by LordofWar.
Ardrich Aug 8, 2017 @ 1:16pm
This is a gothic plate armor,

Still very nice. Thumb up

This is my favorite armor set in the game.
Moony Aug 14, 2016 @ 7:11am
Would you be willing to make a version which replaces daedric armor?
Lorian Aug 5, 2016 @ 12:49pm
this is hands down my favorite armor mod of all time.
The Great D.P.S.S Sep 1, 2015 @ 8:04pm
Nifgardain armor.
Spaghetti Knight Aug 14, 2015 @ 7:59pm
Oh. Sorry for blaming you... I probably should have read the description more carefully. :/
Captain Robertson  [author] Aug 14, 2015 @ 7:49pm
Please note that Rebirth of an Empire is not one of my mods, it is made by a completely different modder and thus I do not provide any technical support for it..... This is a replacer which means that any other mod which makes changes to the vanilla steel plate will cause a conflict with it, in which case I'd recommend you use the stand alone version that I released instead.

Had an issue earlier while reinstalling the mod, apparently steam failed to download the full package.

Happy to report that it is now working and looking gorgeous! Thankyou for uploading this thing, loved The Witcher 2 and it fits this game very well. Not to mention it flat out looks better than the vanilla steel plate.

=AJSA= Giver of Will Jun 5, 2015 @ 11:11pm
it does not seem to work, and i am confused as to why it is not, i dont have any conflicting mods

I am a fan of the German Gothic armor, and this means a lot to me particularly the helmet! nice work here, I have already subscribed :).
Bipfosho Apr 7, 2015 @ 10:59am
This is one of my favorite armour mods on the Workshop, I need say no more.
But I shall say mopre anyways. If a friend of mine asked for a heavy armour mod that looked good, was lore friendly, and was not a godmode item, this is one of the first mods I would mention. 10/10 in my book. I currently have Lydia running around in this armour, and evertime I see her I think to myself, "Now that is some damned good looking armour."
St. Omar ✝ Feb 21, 2015 @ 12:03pm
how do i change it back to the normal steel plate because i unsub to this mod but it still there... someone help!
Priestman Feb 15, 2015 @ 6:08am
Was searching the webs for a good and more realish looking steel plate armour forever. I thought about using witcher 2 models but all the rainbow style colours and signs all over it just turned me off.

Glad I found your replacer. Plain and simple colours for the armour, and fits perfectly with cloaks.

Thank you! :)

nice..

Hay there i got your stand alone version of this and I love it! but before i had the replacer version of this and it had a problem where the chest peice would still look like the origional version. I took that off (un-subed) and took the stand alone one but the replacer is still around. So now if i pick up steel plate armor off NPC's in the item screan it looks like this but on me it looks like the old version. also random npc's wearing steel plate would show the re-skined gloves, boots, and head but not the chest.

please help thanks
tHe JacKaL Sep 15, 2014 @ 10:02am
if i put the gauntlets with the mage clothes the forearm disappear. Can you fix it?
Orran Aug 20, 2014 @ 3:04pm
For me The gloves show up as defult when wearing them :\. However they are shown as the replacer in inventory...
choonce Aug 4, 2014 @ 3:59pm
Well done.

Haz craft Jul 24, 2014 @ 7:33am
Where do you find the armour? Is it craftable, if so under what catagories
cwalker0311 Jul 23, 2014 @ 7:28am
this reminds me of a 15th century knight armur
Haz craft Jul 19, 2014 @ 1:52am
where do you actually get the armour from?
The Greg Jul 17, 2014 @ 11:42am
In the arms, this armor has metal to the wrists. My question is, if you use the chestplate from this armor and bracers from something else (like leather, steel or scaled), will it interfere or will this adjust to the more thight bracers?
whiskeyriver.az Jul 6, 2014 @ 12:00am
All I'm after is that helmet.Cos it resembles the German Stahlhelm!
Buscemi Jun 30, 2014 @ 2:14pm
How do you craft this? Where do I go to craft this?
[GTLM] Axe Master Jun 29, 2014 @ 8:31am
wooow not bad :)
Archangel41 Jun 9, 2014 @ 6:18pm
Does this also replace the Skyforge steel plate armor?
walrus1407 May 20, 2014 @ 10:04am

Wraith Mar 12, 2014 @ 1:08pm
ok awesome but could you make something for the leather armor the steel looks fine but leather armor looks ugly as heck
Daniel L Parry Mar 6, 2014 @ 10:02pm
Big thanks for this mod, I always found the vanilla plate armor to be a bit lacking, and i disliked the loin cloth it had, This armor replacer looks fantastic, and makes the NPCs look a lot more battle ready in my mind
Artifice Feb 4, 2014 @ 5:26am
This is amazing, but you should add a "Before & After" picture, just for comparing.
Panzerati Feb 4, 2014 @ 12:53am

:( aww thanks any way
Captain Robertson  [author] Feb 3, 2014 @ 3:15pm
Unfortunately the Dawnguard Heavy Plate uses assets (The helmet, scripts and a few textures, for example) from the Dawnguard expansion.... As a result, only people who legally own that expansion can make use of it.
76561198096236977 Feb 2, 2014 @ 9:10pm
this is awesome tho maybe, just maybe can you make the dawngaurd armor and make it
for vanilla skyrim (no dlcs)
Captain Robertson  [author] Feb 2, 2014 @ 1:18pm
No worries... Sam's entitled to his own opinion... Maybe next time he might have the sense to post something that could give us all an idea of what went wrong and help him resolve it.
Tiny Tim Jan 19, 2014 @ 4:47pm
Well Sam Middleton, many of us don't share your problem; I doubt people will dodge this mod because one out of a thousand people have your issue. You take the risk of screwing your game when you download mods, and it's not entirely the developers fault that it doesn't work on your game.
