I don't know if Goki_dev's lowfx mod I mentionedin the past work in the current version yet. That did a much better work than this in lowering stuff. Eighter way I'll try to work on updating this for Repentance if I find some time since some still use it.
No promises, but I'll aim for this week.

If this mod could be updated for repentance I would really appreciate it. I'm visually impaired and have a hard time seeing in rooms with lots of enemies on account of the gore. I'd understand if you didn't though, there are a lot more enemies to edit the that xml file.

If you want to go even lower then I highly suggest going with Goki_dev's lowfx mod.

Should work fine now. Don't know how it even affected the Chaos Card but i've redone it from scratch so if there's any issues now it's not from this mod :)

By the way - this mod is great for reducing lag caused by other mods. I really appreciate it.

With the latest booster pack, this mod causes special cards like Chaos Card to spawn invisible and causes problems with the new enemies. Most of the new enemies do not show their skins properly. Attempting to enter a room in the Flooded Caves with the new Booster Pack enemy will result in a crash.

The amount of 'gibs' enemies spawn at death is a flat value separate for each enemy. I just lowered those values manually for each of them.

It seems to help with mods that scan for specific entities on the screen every frame via the lua code. The less stuff is spawned for the lua code to scan through every frame the less mods have to scan through.

So how much less blood is there in general? Does it just spawn less blood or give the game a limit as to how much blood can spawn in a room?

I divided each that had any values by around 4-5 times. Did not completely edit them out.
For some reason it was causing lag on my PC since a few patches back and now it's much less noticeable.

Which IDs did you edit out exactly?
