The puzzles are fairly unintuitive. I got to a puzzle with 4 statues and "stolen goods". I found that putting certain items that matched the statues on the altars in front of them made a level up sound. I assumed this meant I was using the correct item... Apparently, not, every item made that sound. But nothing opened the portal. I used console commands to bypass this because literally nothing worked and I didn't fancy spending the rest of my night trying various combinations of items to figure it out. I did use the items that matched the statues, but it did not work.

I don't know if it just glitched out, or if it was just really unintuitive. Regardless, I dislike the mod. Sorry.

I enjoyed this, though I was worried about running out of food, which is ended before that happen, still had enough left to not worry. Went the wrong route honestly. Went throwing minotaur and mace minotaur, which didn't have much in the way of gear. Thank goodness for that mace early on in the puzzle.

Really great dungeon! I really like the 11x11 floor constraint. It added a really neat dynamic when navigating the tower, I could always ask myself "is there something over there that I can't reach yet?"

The stone statue puzzle was really clever. :D

Nice dungeon, short and sweet! The only thing I got confused on was dollow the lights in the maze bit, but I got through alright

Just finished playing it. I certainly liked it :). However, I wouldn't say that it was too hard (except, maybe, for a single fight) nor too "surprising". I did find the puzzles notes to be rather unnecesary and, in some case, far too explicit.
In case someone was wondering, I started with a fresh party and leaved the tower on level 9 and with a lot of gold in treasures!

These Goromorgs have an energy shield which you simply have to destroy. Don't worry, they are not immune to anything, just keep hitting them until the shields disappear.

Really enjoying this module so far, but I'm having trouble with: the wizards. I'm not doing any damage to them and I don't know why. Am I doing something wrong? I'm stuck there for now, so any help is appreciated!

I like this one; it was short and sweet (about an hour and a half) with my level 14 party from regular Grimrock. Missed a secret somewhere, though...

@Solitary Drake:

1. The secret room in the pressure plate room contains "follow-uo" secret, which gives 3 torches.
2. It is possible to solve with just one torch that you can use in all the wall holders in turn, checking where the shadows fall. The solution is in the pressure plates and red gems, not in the torches. But there are enough torches available in the very same area.


If you're still stuck, then the solution is: B2,B3,D2 , if we label ROWS from north to south with A-E and column from West to East with 1-4.

I just finished the mod and I loved it! Especially the proving grounds. I am totally a hack and slash kind of girl. The puzzles were good. I didn't have a problem with the torches because I've played too many of these kind of games to leave a torch if I have a chance to snare one. My main problem was the same as others. The three gems, but the hints I found here helped me to reset a few controls and find the solution. I can't wait for your next mod!!!!

The sound plays whenever at least 1 item is correct. It only serves to acknowledge that the player is "on the right way". Sorry about that.

As soon as all 4 altars contain the right weapon (at the same time), the teleporter will be activated and there will be a message at the bottom "You hear a distant humming of a teleporter" (or some such). Do not remove the weapons until the teleporter appears. Also, make sure you've given each statue exactly THE weapon (use the weapons found in the boxes). Some people mistake an ax for a sword, so make sure you got it right.

Hi I am stuck at floor II.

I have already given those 4 statues the weapon of choice. I have also opened the crystal room by putting a torch in the holder, but I don't know how to access the teleport to the treaeure key .

this might be an old thread..but @evloret, if this is your first time fighting goromorgs you need to know they have a damage resistance shield and it looks like you are not doing any damage to them but if you keep hitting them eventually you will break their shield and then you can damage them

After you click on Subscribe, you should see (after a while) steam downloading the mod (the tiny progress bar at the bottom). Wait for it to finish, then launch the game and you should have it in Custom Dungeons. If this is not working, make sure you are actually ONLINE (and steam also thinks so), Grimrock is installed properly...
You could also go to Steam via web browser with the same account, and subscribe to it like this -- Steam should detect it and download the mod.

If this doesn't work, then sorry, but I don't know what the problem might be (just to make sure: You DO have the Steam version, right?)

I have clicked to subscribe and nothing has downloaded. I've restarted the game (and steam) a few times with no luck. Any helpful thoughts?

Awesome game. Just finished it last night. Got all six treasures and found 6 of 8 secrets.
Finished the extra fighter puzzle but could not figure out the extra Maze puzzle. I mapped the whole maze room but could never figure out what to do.
Had a bit of trouble with the shadows on the plates puzzle, but eventually guessed it right.
Loved the trick you did with the torch holder and alter to get to a secret area early in the game. Very clever.

For those of you that can't find enough torches for level two remember to check the contents of sacks. One of them has three torches.

@Gandalf91: There are still some glitches, but they are unsolvable if I try to stay within the self-imposed size limit (you know, all floor actually fit into a 11x11 somewhat round tower). So, I think this is done.
@lartin1987: Notice the 3 pillars in the room? Just imagine where the shadow of these pillars would be, if the torches would be in the holders. Put a gem on a pressure plate just next to the pillar in the direction of the imaginary shadow, and then go switch the lever.

Lartin, have you got your graphical settings so that shadows show? I hadn't (because lag) so there were no shadows of anything cast by the torches - you'll need to do so to solve the puzzle.

Anyway, no matter what I do I can't kill the Goromorgs. They don't take damage for some reason, have I done something wrong?

stuck on the second floor, i've got the gems and only 2 torches but i can't work out the combonation of the tiles, any hints would be helpful as trying to work out the shadows is too difficult for me

@Lord Sharbeorn: You will need to find a key and then another key after you use the first one. If you can't find any key, check the carpets on the walls -- they are destructible and can hide things.

majestyk: The 4 keys are not really meant to unlock anything -- instead, by picking them, you open the exit from The Maze. There was supposed to be a door or something, but I forgot to add it, and instead triggered the teleporter by picking them up :-)
Toorum's bones are there only because they are the only bones who look plastic enough to represent someone who died trapped in the room.

Hey, just finished this in about 2,5h and I had big fun. I now spent an additional hour finding the two remaining secrets I didn't find. I got all the treasures, but I have those 4 keys remaining that I can't find locks for. And is there a use for Toorum's bones? Hints are appreciated :)
By the way, great level design and interesting puzzles - demanding, but logical and solveable after some strain on the brain!

Very nice dungeon. My first custom one. Personally I find it on the easy side (I do only play normal setting, however). The battle against the wizards takes some running about and hiding, but is easily doable. So are the two optional levels. The riddles are not too complicated and interesting. Well done.
