Do I need to do anything with the mod after subscribing to it? Like unpacking it and putting the files anywhere?

Why wont this download?! Just reinstalled the game, used to use this mod... is it broken now?

@VityViktor Oh alright! I understand now. I really like this mod, I'm not a fan of the Norse faces, and the German faces look good but I really wanted to keep the Norse hair for the Norse so I could still differentiate between a Nord and a German.
VityViktor  [skapare] 3 dec, 2018 @ 14:58
@Hugo Hi! Portraits are a combination of layers (nose, eyes, cheeks, hair, clothes, etc). It's relatively easy to change some of the layers (like hair, beards, headgear or clothing), so you can have everything German escept the clothing (Norse). But sometimes the size or the place in the face is different, and they would look bad. That's the problem with Norse hair/beards and German faces.

Hello, was wondering exactly how portrait mods work,
any way you could have the German faces but keep Norse hair?
Thank you.
VityViktor  [skapare] 15 nov, 2018 @ 15:37
It should be fixed now. Thank you for your patience!

@Alex M. That's something I'm considering.

@VityViktor
I fucked up my request. I mean turning the old potato spanish/iberian portraits into the new new french ones with spanish clothes and darker hair and skin. And maybe like the italians given to French skins with darker skin and hair with Italian clothes.
I'm being an asshole sorry lol
VityViktor  [skapare] 14 nov, 2018 @ 19:01
@Alex M. I'm working on the Basques' issue, but I'm afraid the only solution is not achievement compatible. :/
AlexMhmm 14 nov, 2018 @ 15:54
@VityViktor
NP m8, repay me by making a Iberian's use the new Basque faces and all arabs ur the new muslim ones, including turks and armenians XDXD
VityViktor  [skapare] 14 nov, 2018 @ 15:21
@Alex M. Thank you for the hotfix. I hope this could be enough until I could finally update the mod.
AlexMhmm 14 nov, 2018 @ 15:11
@the_black_sun
sorry i shoulda been more specific :P
its in Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod/norse_german_faces.zip
Unpack with winzip or winrar or w/e
Go in interface/portraits_norse.gfx
Around line 20 is "### NORSE MALE ####" change every instance of "noOfFrames = 18" to "noOfFrames = 12"
Leave the "noOfFrames = 12" for women because their portraits are already lined up, and leave the children portrait as well at "noOfFrames = 1"
Hope this helps :)
Sarvoth 14 nov, 2018 @ 12:49
@the_black_sun unpack the mod, edit the .gfx file, apply the changes Alex mentioned.
the_black_sun 14 nov, 2018 @ 9:13
Can us mere mortals impliment this change? Where would I find the document where I need to change the text from "noOfFrames = 18" to "noOfFrames = 12".
AlexMhmm 14 nov, 2018 @ 3:19
@VikyViktor I gotchu mate.
I fixed it by changing "noOfFrames = 18" to "noOfFrames = 12" in the portraits_norsegfx.
I tested it on the English/Norman portrait changer and it worked.
Then again i used the CPR+ norse skins, not the DLC skins. But either way, the "noOfFrames =" is where the problem is. :):):)

@Alex M. Thanks for the info. I'll try to update and fix the broken mods, but it could take some time. I'm sorry.
AlexMhmm 13 nov, 2018 @ 16:23
Holy Fury broke this mod. Clothing and headgear clipping.
It didn't break your other mods like Beautiful Celts or any of the Cuman ones though, weird.
Cyniical 19 aug, 2018 @ 21:09
hey would it be possible to make a mod exactly like this but the Men keep the norse faces?
Mako M240 23 jul, 2018 @ 18:12
@VityViktor Thank you so much! It looks great!
VityViktor  [skapare] 23 jul, 2018 @ 3:28
Mako M240 22 jul, 2018 @ 16:37
Awesome! Thanks for looking into it.
VityViktor  [skapare] 22 jul, 2018 @ 15:36
@Mako M240 That's a pretty good idea. I'll do some tests with Norman faces and Norse clothes, and, if everything's allright, I'll upload it.
Mako M240 22 jul, 2018 @ 10:56
Hey I know this may be a super niche request? But is there anyway you could make a mod where the norse use Norman faces? The Normans have by far my favorite portraits, but I love playing Norse invasion games. And as someone else said, using norman portraits only kind of works, since everyone else spawns norse.
orion 25 apr, 2018 @ 4:52
Oh my, the woman portrait is awsome.
VolcanoSauce 17 mar, 2018 @ 14:29
Is there anyway this could become compatible with Better Looking Garbs, when used along with this mod at the moment it makes the clothing get missaligned with the character and does not work properly.
varrenwayne 15 feb, 2018 @ 20:46
Could you make mod where the Norse use the Finno-Ugric portraits from i'm pretty sure the Conclave dlc (Might of been Charlemagne). I fell like those portraits are more fitting. Thank you.
Cybot 15 feb, 2018 @ 9:44
The Norse portrait dlc was horrible, made them look like trolls. So great mod, really helps. Hopefully someday Paradox will fix the Norse portraits like they did with the meditteranian one. Which had people look like Shrek.
Tetra Yon 13 feb, 2018 @ 21:49
Thank god. Holy shit, I was tired of manually changing it with cheats, but of course I didn't want to get rid of the Norse culture, but then whenever new characters spawn they're Norse and aaaaaaagh.
Skeptic 17 jan, 2018 @ 4:27
true, nordic portraits are gross
Fredrik Dunge 2 jan, 2018 @ 7:27
Cool could you make it so they use german clothes in the late game too?
UnknownVariable 27 dec, 2017 @ 0:43
This is great, the Nordic Portraits look dead inside.
Ash 26 dec, 2017 @ 5:46
Finally someone did this. Thank you man!
Nonameanon 25 dec, 2017 @ 23:09
You did it thank you so much
