So the new update for L4D2 is not going to be just survival map The Last Stand.
The new update is going to have BOTH a full blown, multi-map campaign that is based on "The Last Stand" survival map (perhaps in the campaign, our survivors will be actually rescued by someone, such as some boat captain, that might be voiced by one of the community developers?) and perhaps a full expansion to survival gamemodes, that will definitely include The Last Stand survival map and perhaps the other maps that are not available officially (crash course, death toll, dead air, blood harvest).
Lots of bugfixes too, I guess.
You know what would be another awesome idea for L4D2 update? Community developed version of turtle rock studio's scrapped campaign "Dam it!", to be added into the game with official update!

You be the judge. I am repeating what i've overheard. Source2 port of CSGO has also been discussed alot.
Dumbest idea ever. It breaks all existing custom content.

which is a website owned by Valve. The Last Stand is coming to the official build of the game. And hopefully all the other survival maps, crash course, death toll, dead air and blood harvest.
According to the information provided by valvenewsnetwork, the updates will be managed by valve-approved community members (veteran modders).

Fuck, sounds like a good idea to me. There were also rumors about L4D2 being ported over into Source2 engine. Which is great, because the new engine would be a huge improvement to the game. Specifically getting rid of outdated 32 bit architecture and natively supporting Source2 engine build of the game in 64 bit architecture would be a step up for modding community, because that way the game would not have 4 gigabytes of RAM handicap anymore.
Valve is like that dad that went to a shop to buy cigarettes and only returned home 15 years later.

The Last Stand will be added with an official (!!!) update. Ain't that a ring in a ding ding.
And while you're at it, place one ammunition pile in front of lighthouse's entrance, near all those weapons.
Laser sights tend to spawn on random, and since there are no ammunition piles - you are forced to swap to a new weapon (which always discards your old one that has laser sight attachment, then you have to quickly go back and attach laser sight on your fully loaded gun again, which is annoying).
Please, improve bot navmesh. Bots are very important, especially for content from workshop, since it's very hard to impossible to find real people that might join you in a workshop campaign, so in 90 % of all the instances you'll be playing with a team full of bots.
Other than that, I like this build of The Last Stand. Unlike some other build that was uploaded by other person, this build does not crash my game when I pick up a fireaxe. Great job Jake, you ROCK!
