"let's sate that appetite, hmm?" the bartender/innkeeper's comment makes a lot more sense with this mod lol

How do I fix being sleepy? I've been sleeping, then I noticed that it told me I was sleepy.

When you get thirsty, you can't shout?
Why not just...y'know...dehydrate?

Now i cant get it to work ....

I am glad there's still interest in this mod. Unfortunately I haven't worked on it for a long time. It was buggy and I had to reduce it down to the simplest form for it to work.
I haven't been making mods of late or even playing Skyrim. I made this mod only because there was none like it at the time and it was something I wanted in the game.
Other modders have since then made mods based off of the idea behind this one.
You may want to try these mods instead.
iNeed Food Water and Sleep

This mod is simple and very similar to mind. I don't know what it isn't on steam anymore.

This mod is a bit more complicated to use and may interfere with other mods.
If these mods don't work for you.Well with enough requests, I may be persuaded it work on my mod again. As for now my gaming interest are for now somewhere other than Skyrim.
adykote Jun 13, 2015 @ 10:07am
Did you really just write that it doesn´t work with food from HEARTHSTONE? Hih. That's funny. It gets inside your brain whan you play it for long, doesn´t it? :-D

It's still a good mod, I prefer this one because I don't need to deal with SkyUI and all that ( I just prefer not to use it atm cause I too dumb to use Nexus ) or cleanslieness or etc. It's simple, and good. You need nothing else and I prefer this better for role play. Original is the original, and I can't find anything to make me say "this mod needs improving" except others who request much more immersion or "reality" added to their games. This Best Version Yesh:sticky:

Ah awesome, some other modders have been working on mods like this since I stopped.
ItsMeRyanB's Workshop looks like it may have a far better chose than this mod.

I recently got a new computer and finished working on a RL project, so I'm going to play some Skyrim again. Working on an updated version of this mod. Need to test it some still, but it should work with Drangonborn, Hearthfire, and Dawnguard. Seems more recent updates to the game has effected this mod. However this was the most stable version I've made, so I'll leave it up and post the new version separately.

I concur with Omi. Not eating and not drinking has no effect. However, I have Hearthfire installed, so that might be the cause.
Girlesmas Nov 19, 2013 @ 12:08pm
Hearthstone or Hearthfire?

Only sleeping seems to work but even then I don't think the penalty is in effect at all. So this mod is pretty much obslete until fixed.
Weirdman  [author] Jul 11, 2013 @ 3:53pm
Sorry, I haven't worked on this mod for some time now. I was planning on updating it but don't know when I'll be able to get back to it or Skyrim even. More exprienced modders, feel free to to improve upon it as you like.
General_Ovbourne Jul 9, 2013 @ 11:19am
Fancy words are not your friend. You don't have to sound like an Englishman in New York for people to subscribe to your mod. Keep it plain and simple.
Pink Dragon Mar 12, 2013 @ 7:59am
Just a thought. Is there some way to make a visual refernce or a text warning whenever a hungry, tired ot thirtst catagorg drops, (like how the screen blurs for a second in fallout when you are tired). I keep loosing track and persistanly checking my stats is getting old. Other than that, great mod. i love it.
Weirdman  [author] Mar 4, 2013 @ 4:15pm
@ Swizzman - Thanks for telling me about this glich. I'll see what I can do to get it fixed. I'm still new at modding and had to make quite a few changes to get this one working right.
Swizzy Mar 3, 2013 @ 4:06am
i got one bug with werewolf. When i transformed the first time i worked fine but i couldn't transform again beacause the beast form ability never recharged(i waited a week of ingame time and still i couldn't use the beast form ability beacause it hadn't recharged).to fix it unchecked the mod and then use the console to remove the ability and then add it again.but now i can't use the mod beacause i can only transform one time and then i need to uncheck and use console(now i have the ring of hircine so it really doesn't matter).I just wanted to point it out.sorry for my bad english and i hope you update the mod beacause it's awsome and i love the way it works and bethesda should have made this in the game beacause what's the point of using food when you can use poition.
Wulf Feb 23, 2013 @ 5:54pm
Thats unfortunate, i just got back into skyrim and havent left solstheim since i got there
Weirdman  [author] Feb 21, 2013 @ 2:08pm
@ AliasP57 - I'm glad that worked for you. Think didn't think you using the in game commands to correct the problems that were being made by removing this mod. This should also work with Magicka, but if the problem is with the Shout Rate, I'm not sure how to find it's base setting.
Weirdman  [author] Feb 21, 2013 @ 2:04pm
@ MatthaiosSaraj Yes, Something like that. Basicly the was script tells the it to remove all Tired effects after sleep at the start of Rested. Durning sleep the effect switched to Very Tired, which then gets removed. Another script that happens end the end of the Very Tired tells it to add Extremely Tired. Which shouldn't coming into play because Rest removes it. This is from V.4. Because of this glich popping up, I had to change the way it was scripted. V.5 with is now available corrects this but you will not be able to see the change from Tired to Very tired anymore. It just list if you are Tired or not. The effect is still the same as before. I had to drop limit effects adding effects scripts because still kept they adding effects when they shouldn't of.
MatthaiosSaraj Feb 21, 2013 @ 11:54am
i've noteced that when my character is not yet tired and i go to sleep for 12 or more hours it wakes up extremly tired. is it due to script not taking in account sleepeing before tired effect kicks in?
AliasP57 Feb 20, 2013 @ 7:22pm
Well I find the solution, It's possible to reset the value of stamina like the vanilla version of the game. If someone have a trouble use these command "Player.ForceAv Stamina 100" for this example 100 was the value of my stamina but if u have 250 in stamina just tape 250. So simple, and repair if u have removing not correctly the mod or an other trouble. Night all ^^
AliasP57 Feb 20, 2013 @ 6:58pm
Thx Weirdman it's working ^^ I try a hight value (500 like u say) and it's works, the value is in red but I got my stamina back ^^. With the command "player.modav" the value turn green like the bonus guear set. But now I know what the value 100 doesn't work, cause the game consider the value to 0 ... strange.... But if we put the value 200 is considered as a value in 100... I'll try to reinstall the mod and sleep in the inn to see what happen, I hope that the values of stamina shall rebalance. Thx again Weirdman
jjb-54 Feb 20, 2013 @ 6:35pm
Okay - Going to go for it - I just wanted to be sure you were "Good" with what you did, is all and did not feel RUSHED to do it ... as I've been there done that....
Weirdman  [author] Feb 20, 2013 @ 6:21pm
@ AliasP57 It is a good idea to use "Player.setav stamina" but try higher numbers like 500.
Don't know it this will work, but you can still try it.
Weirdman  [author] Feb 20, 2013 @ 6:14pm
@ jjb-54 It's rushed only in the sence that I have had time to test it long term to be totally sure it works. However I've had more than two days to think over what need to be changed.
I've made those changes today tested it by using the Wait option in the game to activate the effects, then using food, and sleeping. Everything seems to be working ok, but then again so was the old version on my system. It's good advice for me not to hurry but seeing the problem people are having, I feel as if I either need to fix it quick or take it down from this site.
AliasP57 Feb 20, 2013 @ 5:22pm
Hi first i'm sorry if my english is bad. This is my problem, i had trouble with my save of skyrim the mod is not in question. But after removing all mods (this one too) and reinstall all of them, my stamina bar is in Zero, I read the warning note " Please make sure all negaive effect are off your character before removing it. If you don't do this, you may have to reload your game from the backup save. " But am pretty sure my character was not all negative effect. I go to a temple to try to cure me and my stamina bar up to 25/25, have u a solution (files modifications etc..) to reset at 100 my stamina bar ? I try to set the command "Player.setav stamina 100" but no success, any idea ? Thx
jjb-54 Feb 20, 2013 @ 3:56pm
First off - I was not meaning for you to 'fix it now' - I understand that Mod Creators have a life ... I really do ... Plus I know "Rushed" jobs usually have issues that only frustrate and make not just you but your support (players) frustrated. If you are indeed happy and please with V.5 - I will go for it ... but I would hate to come back even more frustrated ... because I know you are doing your best and I like this "survival" mod over a lot of them - because I'm not "hard core" - I just liked the simplicity of the player needing to actually Sleep - Eat and Drink ... so simple and makes the game a lot more fun ... because I HAVE to pay attention to hunting and such. :) You have my support on this - you really do.
Weirdman  [author] Feb 20, 2013 @ 3:36pm
Ok, it's a bit rushed but I made V.5. It works a little different. It adds a negavite -500 point effect along with counter effects of, +20, +40, +80, +160 and +190 which remove themselves one by one. No effects that add effects. Drinking, eating, and sleeping removes them all at the same time. So it simple effects on, effects off. Because of this you will only see Hungry, Thirsty, and Sleepy on you active effects screen when the effect are on.
jjb-54 Feb 20, 2013 @ 12:59pm
I will be watching - I really honestly like the concept - it is simple - real and keeps the game 'real' ... Good Luck, Dovahkiin....
Weirdman  [author] Feb 20, 2013 @ 12:49pm
I have an idea for what I need to change, but it will take some restucturing of the mod.
If if works, there will be no count down from Tired to Exhausted. The overall effects will will still accure the same though.
jjb-54 Feb 20, 2013 @ 10:43am
Okay - I'll be looking for this to improve - but for now, I have to remove it. I slept 8 hours - stats said, basically implied, I need 59 more minutes (I was in the RED) - so I did the 59 more minutes. Then showed me still in the RED as EXHAUSTED and need 4 hours ... so I did the four hours - then I'm still in the RED and needed 3 hours - finally I just 24 hours and I was good to go... I will be watching this too see when this is fixed... I REALLY LIKE YOUR CONCEPT .... just have to figure out your math issues here...

A Reason To Sleep, Eat, And Drink V.4The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Subscribed on: Feb 14, 2013 @ 5:59pm

So I have it sub'd on the 14th ... when did V4 come out?
jjb-54 Feb 19, 2013 @ 9:27pm
@ zepto - thanks, I thought it was just me .... LOL .... I mean, I like to sleep, but to wake up and be exhausted ...

Still I like this mod - because it is a good step towards realism in the game. I have a feeling Weirdman is doing his best ... :) he seems to take this pretty serious and straight forward! :)
Weirdman  [author] Feb 19, 2013 @ 7:57pm
@ jjb-54 - Nope it works ok with Dragonborn, Hearthfire, and Dawnguard. Except for the fact that any food from them will not work.
Thanks for keeping me posted about it.

@ Zepto - Sorry about that. It is glich with the mod that I am trying to correct. Problem is it shouldn't be doing it, so I few ideas about how to fix it. I'm working on it though.
Zepto Feb 19, 2013 @ 7:15pm
why is it ill be tired go to bed for an hour then wake up very tired?
jjb-54 Feb 19, 2013 @ 5:18pm
THanks - I have the current version here on Steam .. I see that it does not work w/Dragonborn or Hearthfire - I have Dawngaurd ... is that a problem?
Weirdman  [author] Feb 19, 2013 @ 3:55pm
@ jjb-54 - Quenched and Thirsty should not be able to be in you active effects at the same time. This is the problem I've had to deal with up to V.4. In my game that is no longer happening to me and the mod seems to be working properly. The problem comes, I think, from the fact that the spells are scripted to added the next one in the chain on end of effect.
So removing the effect like Thirsty by drinking may just but the Very Thirsty effect into the active effects. The only one that deosn't add another spell is Sere which is the final most detrimental effect. The only thing I can reconmend trying, is to keep drinking until only the Quenched effect shows up in your active effects. I don't know if it will work for sure, but I did this a few times myself when testing the mod. The effects you're seeing could be left overs from the older versions of the mod, if you started by using a version before V.4
Weirdman  [author] Feb 19, 2013 @ 3:34pm
@☭Red Wulf☭ - Sorry, this mod doesn't include support for the foods from Hearthfire and Dragonborn. So eating those food will do nothing for you.
Wulf Feb 19, 2013 @ 3:06pm
Does this work with dragonborn? Will eating Ash yams and Drinking Sujamma refill my hunger and thirst?
jjb-54 Feb 18, 2013 @ 10:28pm
Here are two screen caps of what I am talking about - Now unless I'm "missing something" in the MOD Rules ---

I drank Tomatoe Juice (actually 2 of them) - Then it shows - Sceen Cap 1 - QUENCHED 3 HOURS ...

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/558715197564896383/B2E33A9189285E8D17135F8BEF12D756E4BA6E2A/

Then right below it: THIRSTY -10 Points to Shout Rate:

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/558715197564910087/FA0C182CA2790AEF1A9D2382AF2615DFBF4498C1/

Am I missing something, as in not understanding how the Thirst Quenched is suppose to work.

Now I am NOT trying to be a PITA - I LIKE THIS MOD - thus am taking the time to post and figure this out. :)
jjb-54 Feb 18, 2013 @ 7:21pm
nope - not the case ... I can sleep 8 hours - have the screen tell me - YOU FEEL WELL RESTED - and then look at the stats and says - I need 30 min up to 4 more hours of sleep.

Also like I said, "I slept 8 hours" and all was "Good" and walked down to the Solitude Docks and was told "EXHAUSTED" ...

I'm still playing w/this MOD because I like the concept .... Just an FYI ..... as I have no clue as to why?
Weirdman  [author] Feb 18, 2013 @ 4:00pm
@ jjb-54 - I'm not sure what you are refering to. The amount of sleep you take doesn't affect anything with this mod. Sleeping, if it's working properly, should simply removes all Tired - negavite Stamina effects from the Tired effect and restarts it. A hour's sleep or 10 should have the same effect.

@ Dovakhiin - I of course, am using my own mod. V.4 seems to be working alright so far but you may wish to wait until version 5. I'm plan on spicing up a bit more and I have to now re-go over the werewolf and vampire thing because the last change in the structure of the mod, I made to fix the Tired effect didn't take them completely into account.
Dovakhiin Feb 18, 2013 @ 10:20am
Is the "tired" issue fixed now? Don't want to risk subscribing unless it's sorted
