@evapour, exactly, you have to place the blue portal, and then you can get out and continue. You then go to another place with an auto portal and if the blue portal is still there (which it should be unless you derped somehow) and then a bridge openes up where you land.

There is no way to get out of the orange portal bit if the player hadn't placed the blue one.
