When you first get this mod, remember to equip the bag, then drop it so that you can adjust the settings before you pick it back up again. I keep mine set on giving 100% of items' worth in gold. Use it that way, and you'll be rolling in gold in no time.

This is possibly the best mod for dealing with excessive loot, especially if you are trying to save up enough gold to buy a horse, house or something else expensive. It doesn't advance your speech perk like buying and selling with vendors does, so don't over-use it if your speech is low. Raising your speech can really help you out in this game. Sometimes, even more than raising attacks can.

Thank you! I only noticed today that it was eating my items and not giving me gold. I discovered this when I should have had 4000 gold after Helgen (because of all the dead soldiers I looted the armour and weapons from) when I got to Whiterun and was like "cool, time for a spell tome shopping spree at Farengar... wait, where the hell is all my money??" Was not pleased. I'm looking forward to trying this one out!

So I recently decided to try out the old Bag Of Holding mod that this is essentially a second-generation cousin of, and I really like some of that mod's features, like finding it during a quest, not having to close your menu to use it, and particularly being able to open it directly from the world when you drop it. So I was wondering if it would at all be possible to make a sort of hybrid between Bag Of Holding and Bag of Trash, so that they're more like sisters than cousins? I have almost no experience creating mods, so any help in attempting this would be greatly appreciated.

@Stygander ... cool. Thanks, man.

ported to SE, and uploaded to nexus. Credit given, will change things as needed

Alright, thanks for letting me know about if it's a bug or not (seriously I was going bloody insane).

And thanks again for providing the Bag Mod, serves as an excellent 25% trade-off (What I've set it to) for not fast-travelling. Also, I think the fact that it doesn't pay you for the full enhanced amount is a fair diminishing return for not selling it to a real shop in my opinion.

I honestly don't even see how such a potential bug (the weapon one) got past the game-testing phase so easily in the first place.
Team Vladof  [author] Nov 16, 2017 @ 9:54pm
@Equilisys ... the "weapons left behind" is a bug. Most game cells are supposed to reset at some point, but I think in Skyrim the reset time (in in-game days) is so high you hardly ever see it. The Unofficial Patch fixes most of this "crap left behind" stuff, tying weapons to enemies and having the weapon despawn when the enemy despawns. But, again, you have to wait for the cell reset timer to cool down, which can take a long time if you're not fast travelling across the map 20 times over.
Ali'Sys ⛧ Nov 15, 2017 @ 7:58pm
I have a problem at the moment (yet to find a PERFECT workaround in CK) where the world has weapons lying everywhere after kill despawns and could potentially build-up-clutter the enviroment unecessarily and also negatively impact my machine. Using this mod is far better than having the immersion completely killed to a possible bug; finding a damn chest that resets to dump the trash weapons to clean up the area.

Ontop of that, having the bag convert other unwanted items into gold saves time, especially the very fact that the trash uses up my vendor gold which drives me nuts when I am trying to turn a decent profit. The only thing from there I can do with it is attempt to level my speech which trash doesn't serve that well. I especially tried the recycling mods but they don't seem to cover everything.

TL;DR: This Bag is like the final solution to my problems and THANK You for uploading this.
Team Vladof  [author] Aug 21, 2017 @ 8:17pm
@Trezor ... yes, any kind of gear that you can have in inventory and put in a bag (ie: as long as it's not a quest item you can't remove from inventory). Items in the CK have an intrinisic gold value as part of their creation. But, the bag only uses the base gold value, not any value added by crafting / enhancing. So, if you toss in a sword from a mod, it will use the base gold value. If you smithed the sword to be worth more, you'll still just get the base gold value.
Trezor Aug 20, 2017 @ 11:27am
does it trash away modded items? wheter it be wearable or non-wearables [like a modded jewel]?
Mechanical Poetry Jul 22, 2017 @ 3:11pm
I understand. I played a lot of fallout 4 and it kind of got old.
Team Vladof  [author] Jul 22, 2017 @ 2:48pm
@MACHINESofGOD777 ...also... I'm currently playing Fallout 4 Survival... and the game is freezing when I go into VATS. I've lost countless hours due to a bug they've known about for a long time and have done nothing about. So... I'm not exactly in a "support Bethesda games" mood anymore. They need to fix their s**t.
Team Vladof  [author] Jul 22, 2017 @ 2:47pm
@MACHINESofGOD777 ... I don't have Special Edition. Not getting it either, b/c I already paid $60 for Skyrim once. But, they want me to pay again to get Special Edition in order to have the "privilage" of Creation Club. Bethesda can get bent if they want me to pay for the same game twice just for some better graphics and an in-game app store.
Mechanical Poetry Jul 21, 2017 @ 8:20pm
I tried and couldn't figure it out. Maybe you might want to give a try?
CongenialVirus Jul 17, 2017 @ 7:59pm
I never knew I needed a mod to trash items... Until now...
Mechanical Poetry Apr 10, 2017 @ 6:56pm
Cool! I'll try, but some mods have not worked in the new ck.
Team Vladof  [author] Apr 10, 2017 @ 6:35pm
@MACHINESofGOD777 ... if you want to port it to Special Edition, feel free. Just give a nod to me and zBobg in your credits or something.
Petta Dragonne Apr 9, 2017 @ 11:05am
This mod is a must-have. I've tried to play without any mods. And I keep not being able to do that, pretty much just because I can't play without this mod. It's like I'm an early humanoid and have just learned about fire. They had to have fire. I have to play with this mod. I've never seen a glitch in all the many walk-throughs. Once in a while, somehow I get an extra one, but I either just let it sit there or drop it on the ground without picking it up. It's not like that's an issue... This is a must-have. Period.
Mechanical Poetry Feb 19, 2017 @ 10:51am
Would love the "OKAY" from the mod author to put this mod out for Skyrim Special Edition! Let me know!
Apolias_ Feb 1, 2017 @ 2:29am
now that i have figured out this mod, i like it .... but, you can make multiple copies of the bag if you equip the bag then drop it, which in-turn isnt that bad because i guess you can make a copy to put away incase you lose a bag. but still a good mod an ty.
Vampire Woona Aug 4, 2016 @ 2:28am
is it possible to replace its model and name with that of a bucket? i have another mod called "haven bag" which is basically a pocket house that looks exactly the same as yours when skimming my inv fast.
[PGCA]nodijo Jun 7, 2016 @ 11:06pm
I also want to thank you as a longtime player and have used your mod for every playthrough with absolutely no problems. Just a hint to players who can't seem to find it, as soon as I enter helgen keep and get my bindings cut off I go right into my inventory, it's easy to find because you don't have much. Then just press 'R' and drop it don't open it or you'll end up with more than one. After that you can click on it and get the settings option and then click 'take'... :steamhappy:
bmben29 Dec 24, 2015 @ 4:42pm
I love this mod, and agree about the inventory space. I do have a suggestion though. A spell. It would take no space and you couldn't get multiples. Just a thought.
Mr.Peanutz Aug 24, 2015 @ 5:06pm
Doesn't show in my inventory and no quest like thing appears. How exacty can i get this to work in the game? Is there a console code to add it to inventory?
abestm8 Jul 19, 2015 @ 3:28am
Team Vladof, thanks for sorting this mod. Greatly appreciated. I left your $100 in the bag ok lol. Seriously good job & thanks for sharing.
Mechanical Poetry May 12, 2015 @ 10:09am
Just wanted to say thank you! This has been my favorite mod since I got a PC to play Skyrim with mods in January 2014. I would love to make something as cool as this. I'm sure I'm in the comments somewhere here from sometime ago. I just thought I would come back and give another thanks to you. So thank you!
Team Vladof  [author] Apr 24, 2015 @ 2:59am
I decided to start charging you all to use this mod. So, if you'll all kindly give me $100 each, I'll keep ignoring bug-fix requests and hand over $75 of that to Valve and Bethesda for doing absolutely nothing other than hosting this mod I made (which was based on another mod makers work that I'm not going to share profits with). I expect everyone to be totally accepting of this decision and not bitch in any way shape or form. Thanks for understanding!

A most useful and needed mod to keep ones inventory clean.
doe Mar 1, 2015 @ 10:07pm
Begging ... pleading here ... Any possibility of enabling this essential item to be hotkeyed on the Favorites menu? (like the bag of holding.) Use BoT so frequently, being able to put it on a hotkey would be a blessing.

If you can think of any method that allows BoT to be hotkeyed permanently, Please let us know!
DeadpoolVII Feb 1, 2015 @ 9:27am
Amazing. Small enough of a 'cheat' that it doesn't break the game and saves TONS of time and nonsense of over-encumberance. Love it. Will never play Skyrim without it.
Luminous Fennec Jan 9, 2015 @ 3:07am
+2 Internets for the word Wonkiness. Yeah. I actually did that afterward. I kind of wonder how it happens. I just wish I could get dawnguard to work in the cairn. It always crashes in that place or after going there. I just want my level 81 OP bow man.
Team Vladof  [author] Jan 8, 2015 @ 2:33pm
@Lumin ... I'd recommend uninstalling the mod, going into the game again, making a new save (to clean things out), then closing game, adding mod back in, then have another go. It sounds like you may have stumbled across some kind of weird bug where the BoT is in an "active" mode or something but not working right. I'm not sure. Uninstalling and reinstalling the mod tends to fix all kinds of wonkiness.
Luminous Fennec Jan 8, 2015 @ 10:17am
my BoT seems to be broken, it doesn't give me any gold and dropping it makes it disappear from inventory.
Kyrie Dec 24, 2014 @ 12:19am
This thing is sooooooooooooooooooo useful for looters when they get to max weight and can't teleport home/run from a enemy
Vinnie Mack Nov 25, 2014 @ 7:52pm
am running a ton of mods (upwards of a hundred) and they all love this mod as much as i do.
Vinnie Mack Oct 21, 2014 @ 7:07am
great and handy way to turn that garbage clutter into gold. Love it.
Godzilla8MyBaby Aug 11, 2014 @ 7:14pm
works great
ThunderTyke Jun 2, 2014 @ 11:39pm
It works, but havent used it much since i got advanced smelting mods
not had any conflict with bag of holding or other mods
Mechanical Poetry Jan 18, 2014 @ 4:33am
Thank you, now I can just feed the bag stuff I don't want when I am over encumbered. Funny script writing also.
Paxatax Jan 12, 2014 @ 4:24pm
Great addition to the game, and I now could not play without it! Many thanks.
Mystical Nov 20, 2013 @ 4:17am
Well I finally got it working. Not sure why but I deleted the bag of trash then subscribed again and the right bag of trash is now showing up correct.

No idea why it didn't download correctly the first time but oh well glad it is working now. Thanks for making this :B1:
Mystical Nov 20, 2013 @ 3:46am
I've never downloaded the bag of holding mod before. I also don't have any mod that merge multiple mods togther. I double checked that the bag of trash bsa and esp are in my skyrim data folder and they are appearing. I even moved bag of trash to the end of my load order.

It's really odd becasue the bag of trash shows up in my inventory, I then drop it. When I pick it up it gives two options: "open bag of trash" or "pick up bag of trash". I don't see any settings though to adjust the costs. Even odder is when I place an item in bag of trash (lets say a sword for 11 gold) it gives me 11. But once I re-open my inventory the 11 gold are removed from my inventory.

Thanks for helping =) I'll keep seeing if I've done anything wrong on my end. :D:

Team Vladof  [author] Nov 19, 2013 @ 8:36pm
Are you using bag of holding mod? "Open / Pickup" is from bag of holding mod and zBobg's original bag of trash mod. If you're seeing that, then you have one of those installed. I don't think bag of holding mod should conflict with this, though. Are you using a merged mod file that someone put together that perhaps includes zBobg's old bag of trash mod?
Mystical Nov 19, 2013 @ 6:19am
I loved the original mod and glad this was updated. I seem to be running into an issue though. When I drop the bag for the first time and press 'E' (to activate) I see the option to open or pick it up. I don't see any options to change the values though. I tried getting rid of some items too and was still getting 0 gold. I don't have any previous version of this mod installed either so not sure why I am still getting a 0g payout.
ColdBlxxxded Sep 4, 2013 @ 7:32pm
This is without a doubt one of the best mods out there. No more going from store to store to get rid of unwanted or useless items. If you get too much money(ha ha) set it to zero.Thank you Tundrowalker.TW
Petta Dragonne Sep 1, 2013 @ 5:30pm
Smetimes having the bag of trash makes it too easy, so I was trying to play without it. I couldn't do it. Couldn't even start. I was imagining myself running across the world of Skyrim without it and it was such a sad, lonely existence. Everyone needs a bag that talks to them, laughs at them, and eats buckets. Definitely an indispensable mod.
Team Vladof  [author] Aug 5, 2013 @ 1:56pm
And there's no such thing as "dummy" questions. I have a background in quality assurance and usability. I try to make my mods as intuitive as possible. But, everyone thinks differently, and sometimes the interface of something may not be apparent when it seems apparent to the creator.
Team Vladof  [author] Aug 5, 2013 @ 1:54pm
* +/- %'s are used to add/subtract their respective amounts from 0-100%.
* Code in mod will not allow you to go under/over 0-100%.
* Pay-out % is in the msg box you use to adjust +/-%. (Plus, it should tell you when you pick it up off the ground or from a container)
* The comments are just humor; based on amt of gold it upchucks. Low amounts has bag mocking you for cheap trash. High amounts has bag crying uncle.
Sol Jul 22, 2013 @ 4:17am
The origonal mod for this started NOT giving me gold, I would use it, it would show the gold I got, then when I re-entered inventory, it shown the number I had before tossing items.

So, I downloaded this.

I can see that it has -10%, -5%, 0%, +5%, +10%. Do I just add 10% 10 times for 100%? Can it go over 100%? What happens if I have it at 0% and do -10%, do I have to pay to use it?

I get messages about the bag collapsing from spewing out gold - is this just humor or something else? (if humor, I love it; It talks!!)

Sorry to trouble you with "dummy" questions.

Also, how do I tell what % I currently have it set to? Thanks!
