Jamesomac - Sorry you are having troubles. This mod building does not alter any of the code for the hunters, it is basically just a copy of the base game hunter with a new look. . Have you checked if the same behaviour happens on the base game hunter as well? It can occur naturally if your hunters have tasks with higher priority (like eating) and if there are lots of jobless workers who get assigned the task to pick up the resources in the hunter's stead.
Some mods can increase the chance of that happening due to hunters getting a more complex AI ("Guards! Guards!") or changes to transport ("Storage management") or eeating algorithms ("Kitchen&Cooking" with eatery option). In case you are using these, I recommend planning for short transport ways so that whoever gets the pickup task can get your meat in quickly :)

I think something may be wrong with this MOD. I have been watching the villagers ad they seem to carry materials back to storage only about 25% of the time.

vivaine3 - It is a work place. Houses are always seperate buildings
Blue Duchess VI Jan 11, 2019 @ 5:53pm
Does this function only as a workplace or can the foresters live there as well?

Update:

The forester house now has a unique build icon.

Das Försterhaus hat jetzt ein eigenes Bausymbol.

schorsch_morsch - thank you for your kind words and you suggestion :-) Unfortunately, smoke can only be emitted through processes like warming up in the houses, or working in the production buildings. As the foresters don't do any actual work in the building, there will be no smoke. But it is warm and cosy for them to stay inside anyway, don't worry :-)
schorsch_morsch Jul 1, 2018 @ 2:26pm
hi, your mods are awesome, I have a sugestion, people working in the fourest should have a stove, the smoke should make it easyer to find the houses deep in the woods

hi MEGADORI. tried with the vanilla forester hut and it seemed to work, but only for a while, then stopped yielding anything again. i got the Jiz Falcon Chainjit mod activated but didnt change anything in there concerning trees, however it seems quite powerful. maybe there's still an incompability... i'll turn it off and try again in a new game...
MEGADORI  [author] Jun 26, 2018 @ 6:50am
82dankinzel - Thank you for answering the qustions concerning this bug!
This means it is a problem with the forester workers. Do you also have a vanilla forester building, and do the workers who work there have the same problem?
82dude Jun 25, 2018 @ 8:47am
hi MEGADORI. first off thanx for the nice mod. yet i also have the same problem as KaBa_ak. foresters stationed in the forester hut dont yield any wood. gathering manually however does yield wood... i have no other mod that changes tree behaviour...
MEGADORI  [author] Apr 7, 2018 @ 3:10pm
While doing routine updates I found that the front lamp had gone out! It's fixed now.
MEGADORI  [author] Jan 30, 2018 @ 3:14pm
KaBa_ak - This is a curious issue. What happens if you have your villagers chop down some trees (via the manual ressource gathering button, not via the forester hut), do they also not yield any wood?
Do you have any mods active that change the amound of resources or anything about the trees?
KaBa_ak Jan 22, 2018 @ 3:12pm
Hi guys! I have a strange problem with the foresters. They seem to cut down trees but they gather wood just in verry rare situations out of them. Any idea what causes that problem?
MEGADORI  [author] Jan 21, 2018 @ 12:21pm
Update: The foundation of the forester house is now a bit higher, so that it doesn't look sunk in on uneven terrain.

Thanks !

Cool! Thanks :)
MEGADORI  [author] Dec 28, 2017 @ 9:33am
This mod is now up to date. The tower and random deco are back. Thanks for being patient!
Doh! Dec 26, 2017 @ 10:41am
Like @Kadeho, I'm not seeing the tower either. I'm wondering if it's related to the same change the base game that causes the lack of exterior decorations on small houses when the Furnished Houses mod is applied...
von Manstein Dec 23, 2017 @ 8:46am
i dont see the tower in the forest house in the last update.

Hi. Thanks for your answer :) Now that you mention it, I have installed the "denser Forrest" mod, definitly could be making trees stronger. Also, I just had a forester die who was working the vanilla forrester hut, so it's definitly NOT the fault of your mod ;-). My village grows fine, but thanks for the tipp with the "plant only", sounds like a good workaround. I'm also taking a closer look on who's getting hungry and then taking control over them to leave work.
MEGADORI  [author] Oct 10, 2017 @ 2:51pm
* manage tools distribution by double clicking on the tools symbol in your village window, that forbids the villagers to go and get tools. Then as soon as you have some tools atacked up, choose a forester and walk them to the storage where the tools are, pause, release them from FPV, un-ban the tools, and then hope the forester grabs a tool. Reapeat until all of your foresters are equipped. Oh, and equip your smiths and carpenters as well, so they produce tools faster ^^
* look out for your foresters in very regular intervals. If you see one going at a large tree for some time, see how hungry they are. The act of taking control of a villager in first person will interrupt the task, and if the forester is hungry, he will then go home and eat before going back to work.

Best luck for your village, and I hope that you can save your workers from a ghastly death by neglecting basic need during overtime work!
MEGADORI  [author] Oct 10, 2017 @ 2:51pm
starman001, the problem you are describing has nothing to do with the forester house, it sadly is true that the villagers will rather die than interrupt whatever work they are doing.

Are you using a mod that makes the trees yield more wood? The more wood a tree gives, the longer it takes to fell it. Especially if your foresters aren't equipped with tools they might starve or freeze to death on the job!
There is basically only few things you can do without having to uninstall your mods (which, in the case of the tree mods, makes most of the trees on your island die and it takes a while for new ones to regrow)
* you can try seeting you foresters to plant only. When you need wood, use the manual order to have your villagers chop some trees near your town centre
starman01 Oct 10, 2017 @ 4:56am
Btw, to be more precise, the problem is more of a combination I guess. I'm currently out of tools, and they seem to take months cutting down trees, and the AI seems to be to dump to stop working for food. Not so sure if it's a problem with the hut, or rather the "tree cutting" technique, since I only loose forester to starvation (plenty of food supply in storage)
starman01 Oct 10, 2017 @ 4:51am
Hi... I have a strange problem, my foresters working in this hut slowly die of by starvation. Already lost the 3rd one... The building is actually quite near the hut, they would maybe need 20 seconds to reach their home :( Someone else having this ? Since it takes ages till new workers grow up, these losses are really hard
MEGADORI  [author] Sep 28, 2017 @ 2:57pm
Yes trees do grow back on their own, near mature trees.
This building is designed to have a big radius so that foresters will not have to replant trees, in order to reduce the micromanagement necessary for a constant wood supply.
You could just have your workers cut them down manually (with the collect wood button), if your foresters aren't quick enough :-D
Aurizx Sep 28, 2017 @ 2:30pm
I had the replanet settings off and trees still grow in the radius I need to clear all trees for buildings. How to fix this?
MEGADORI  [author] Sep 24, 2017 @ 10:01am
Sorry you are having an issue :-( However, I can not replicate it. No matter where I build the forester house. Are you by any chance using the mod that increasess the slope tolerance for buildings? Not saying there is anything wrong with it, just it's the only thing I know to cause sunken building (besides the sunken mill you can get with the smaller footpringts mod, but I have this in my game and it doesn't interfere with the forester house) Trying to look at all possibilities :-)
wrecknrule Sep 24, 2017 @ 9:45am
Everytime I try to build this, it's built half in the ground and my foresters can't access it to work. I'd really like to use this mod, but I can't figure out what's wrong.
Boebinator Sep 18, 2017 @ 10:23am
thx!
MEGADORI  [author] Sep 18, 2017 @ 5:15am
Thank you for mentioning it Beobinator[CH]

I have updated the mod.
In case of fire the building should now burn as a barn does.
Boebinator Sep 17, 2017 @ 7:13am
this and the hunting house burning too fast down, can u fix this pls? :)
Jaunitta 🌸 Sep 16, 2017 @ 1:31am
yep that's what they do, fair enough :)
MEGADORI  [author] Sep 16, 2017 @ 1:26am
I am afraid that the door can't be removed, because it is part of the model (from the bathhouse). As they can't go inside. I could have made it so that they stand around in front of the door, but then it would look as if they aren't doing anything, like it does with the original forester's lodge. So instead, I made it so that the foresters hang out under the canopy as if they were working on the wood piles or something

MEGADORI I have noticed that the villagers donot go inside the Forest House as it has a door, so instead they stand the wood stockpile on the left of the building.
The old forrester they did. Any chance you remove the door? I tried going in with 1st person .
Jaunitta 🌸 Sep 14, 2017 @ 6:35pm
The furnace is what gave me the idea for the flour grinder.
Jaunitta 🌸 Sep 14, 2017 @ 3:39am
That's be awesome MEGADORI . Maybe they have enough bits and pieces to make a unique grinder lol. I really like the new forester now that I have replaced the old, it's great to have extra 5 villagers and the zone is much larger well done you, No problems as yet.. Cheers
MEGADORI  [author] Sep 14, 2017 @ 1:57am
That is a cool idea Jaunitta! I'll have a look at the existing buildings, see if there are any nice objects to use for something like it (I can't do new models) because I'd also love to have some ground corn for my people to cook themselves some porridge :D
Jaunitta 🌸 Sep 13, 2017 @ 7:52pm
No problesm, love teh fact we can use either old or new. Thankyou!!!

I looked into the art of creating mod buildings and just wondered how you crafted the buildings to aesthetically correct. My idea was to build a manual grinding stone to mill wheat. In real time back then they used 2 round stones ontop of each other a hole in teh center and a level to grind their mead or grains to flour. Corn was very popular.. Much later came the Windmill. :steamhappy:
Jaunitta 🌸 Sep 13, 2017 @ 7:03pm
That's cool. I've been inside the old building 1st person and it is cold lol.
