I don't know if this would count as a bug or not, but I think when you clean the mod in TES5Edit, it causes the entire reseach area, with the waterfall and the dwemer researcher to go invisible for some reason, physically you can walk there but no textures or NPCs. It might be that the tool mistook something a dirty edit or something?

@legofreak96 I have updated the mod, hopefully fixing your problem, let me know if it still persists after you leave the Keep, save and Re-load then re-enter.

@jakecockill I think I have finally fixed that bug in the most recent release, so next time your run Skyrim it should work if you let the mod update.

I hate to be "that guy," but in my saves, the doors to the Museum, the excavation site, and the Hall of the Dead are missing. I'm just wondering if this is some kind of glitch or bug or something like that.

there is only one way to get to the hall of the dead now and thats through a glich on one of the pillars u need to make it so u can get in the hall of the dead the right way. The rest of the mod is awsome

@NightshadeX62 It is the Keep that already existed in Markarth, I just redid the interior. It is n't a player-owned home, unfortuneately, so there is no key, but you can find it by going to its location in Markarth.

Just wanted to let you know that there might still be some problems with NPC pathing. When doing the Book of Love quest, when Calcemo is suppose to run to Faleen he runs straight into the wall and keeps running in to it. That being where the path used to be. Also when exiting the hall of the dead into the understone keep you spawn in the water under where the door used to be. Other than that I love the mod, great job, thanks!

Thanks for this, I was wondering why the Jarl's palace looked so...destroyed. You'd think they'd clean it up just a little bit, and not leave massive piles of rubbles everywhere?

@Guido, Thank you for pointing out these bugs, the door one in particular is annoying me, I can't seem to make it work right, but It should be fixed in the next update this weekend.
@dragonwoodkeevan I am glad you enjoy it, I too was entirely happy with the run-down ruined state the Keep was in.

I like this mod. I agree that Markarth needed a keep in a better state of repair. I was playing around in it last night and I noticed some issues: Seam issue to the right after you come in the front door. Seam issue infront of one of the doors to a bedroom on the far right side the keep. Seam issue in the Jarl's bedroom beside the fireplace. The door to the Hall of the dead is floating above the water. Calcelmo and a guard are stuck going in and out of the door to the dig sight. floating object on the path to the hall of the dead near the ledge (looks like there should have been a table there or something). Even with these minor issue, this mod is great. I can't wait to see where you go with it. Keep up the good work.

Hey, just thought I'd let you know about an optimization program for Skyrim called "Optimizer Textures" - not entirely sure if it will help you optimize Understone, but worth a look! This made every area of my game run way smoother.

this is totally lore friendly. i never understood why (if markarth is so rich from silver) they couldt even afford to repair the inside of the keep. that ALWAYS upset me. nice work :)

Thought I'd point out another texture bug, if you don't mind! :)

Location: If you're in the throne room and you're facing the main entrance, proceed down the large flight of stairs and turn right. There's a little, dark alcove with some water floating in the air.

Oh, also I cleaned up the master files using TES5Edit and out of 950 files it found about 460 or so duplicates or somesuch, so you may want to clean them? :)

okay, I did notice some weird textures. When you go into Understone and take a left, when you get close to the ramp the graphics kind of bug out at the same spot - most of the textures disappear and you can see a lot of blue. It appears to be a specific spot every time. If you turn around and head back into the main hall there are also some textures that don't line up, leaving some cracks. In the main hall when you first come in, if you look up you can see the 'sky' far above. This is under a mountain, so there should just be rock there :)

I would like to clean up various Markarth, I haven't decided whether to add it to this mod or make it a seperate mod. I am glad you guys are enjoying it so far! I know that I still have quite a bit to do, but any weird textures or anything you notice, let me know and I will try to fix it.

I also am a fan of this mod i always though that understone keep had the chance to be grand so its nice that somone has done it. is there any plans in future to do a more neat version of the player home in markarth.

I love this mod - I've always wondered why they didn't clean the place up after some 20 years Understone's been in Imperial hands. I was going to comment on some errors that I found (textures shimmering, a floating block of water (?), but you seem to be on top of it. You have any plans to clean up Markarth city? Is there anything to clean up there?
