I like the idea of this mod.
kkilljjoy Jan 2, 2016 @ 5:23pm
@i73Fi Yup, I've got two cure disease potions on my top shelf in my house. Diseases in the normal game are just an annoyance, most mods make it easier to ignore them, rather than fixing them.
i73fi  [author] Jan 1, 2016 @ 5:18am
@kkilljjoy yep, deadly wildlife forces to think and plan. Better confront with aid of others, or not to confront at all if possible. Use magic to retain or distract wildlife, even for a moment. Illusion magic maybe? And medical potions become biggest treasures there is! And the prices of the potions forces player to actually spend time making money.

I can image playerhouse where cure disease potions are as trophies on the shelves, instead of exotic armor or weapons ;)
kkilljjoy Dec 31, 2015 @ 2:57pm
@i73Fi I get that, and it is very fun, exciting, and difficult. I am glad to see a mod that forces the player to think, rather than flailing around until everything dies. It's just that some low level quests require you to confront the wildlife, and having to wait until level 7 in order to take on Bleak Falls Barrow is a little annoying, but I love the mod and thank you for making it. Having a companion really helps though, and I'm glad this mod makes companions so much more helpful (which I guess was the intent?)
i73fi  [author] Dec 31, 2015 @ 6:14am
@kkilljjoy this mod is insanely difficult, forces player to make choices they normally would not even consider. Like keeping away from the forests and wilderness with low level character, maybe even travel only with caravans. Sneaking may also prove to be good option. By selecting higher difficulty level for the game you also add more difficulty to this mod. If someone uses this mod with master of legendary difficulty I'd like to see is it even possible to stay alive encounter with wolves :D

I'd probably use town guards and other NPCs to kill wolves and trolls with low level character. Or sneak past them. Some kind of plan certainly needed, direct fight just would not work.

Difficulty has been controversy from the start, but I prefer things the way they are. For those who want insane difficulty will certainly get it :)
kkilljjoy Dec 31, 2015 @ 4:06am
@i73Fi so I started a new playthrough and keep getting one hit by wolves, they also have alot of health. I understand that "RUN THE HELL AWAY" is what this mod is about, but level scaleing might need some tweeking. Was playing on adept difficulty btw. It kinda gets in the way of some early quests which force you to kill things like wolves and even trolls. still love it though.
kkilljjoy Aug 24, 2015 @ 7:49pm
I think it's all good :)
kkilljjoy Aug 24, 2015 @ 7:47pm
@i73Fi Well I'm a werewolf now, and I haven't gotten any more diseases, sooo... check? If you classified them as diseases, I think they'll work normally.
i73fi  [author] Aug 24, 2015 @ 9:58am
@kkilljjoy not sure, I haven't tried those. I didn't exclude any races from diseases tho :)
kkilljjoy Aug 22, 2015 @ 7:46pm
@i73Fi - Are you immune to the new diseases if you are a werewolf or vampire? I've seen alot of mods that modify nature. Most are, unfortunately, incompatable with werewolf/vampire characters.
Cmdrcraig1 Jul 3, 2015 @ 7:36am
I agree with Carrier of Echoes. this is very wide-ranging.. but I do like any mod that makes the game harder to survive, it gets a thumbs up from me.....tho I would like to see a 'lite' version of this mod. where the cure potions are craftable but make the spell books for learning the recipes for these cure diseases/cure poisons potions/antidotes rae or dropped by s BOSS mod.
i73fi  [author] May 25, 2015 @ 1:35pm
You have conflicting mod in your saved games. You need to remove mod(s), then SAVE (not quick save) and then LOAD save you just made. With that game cleans unused mods and their preferences from saved game.
Frank Zappa May 25, 2015 @ 10:08am
I run it by it by iteself and it still crashes.
i73fi  [author] May 25, 2015 @ 9:09am
Crashes = conflict with some other mod. Load order may sort things out.
Frank Zappa May 24, 2015 @ 3:11pm
hey mine crashes whenever i run it? any ideas?
Carrier of Echoes May 24, 2015 @ 1:01pm
Great idea, but looks like too many and too wide-ranging changes to me :(
Zevanox Dec 18, 2014 @ 10:18pm
Ahhh Thank you very much for the help!! C:
I'm also really glad to hear that's it's not 47 hours real life time xD I was so afraid of that! haha
Thank you again for the reply c: It has already helped!
i73fi  [author] Dec 9, 2014 @ 6:11am
May Blossom nice to hear you "enjoy" harsh mod :)

It's all about luck who has potions you need. Or if you find them from chests.

If suffering from diseases you should seek Vigilants of Stendarr, they can help you without costs.

There are couple of merchants that more likely have these potions. Search for those, alchemists etc. maybe... :)

About time poison lasts... 47 hours isn't "real life time", hope this info helps :)
Zevanox Dec 8, 2014 @ 2:09pm
Is there a way to buy a cure poison potion? If so, where? Because I've visited winterhold, windhelm, whiterun and riverwood just to find a cure for the frosbite spider poison x,D
I'm not a high enough magic user in the game I started with my Argonian so I can't use the spells and I haven't found a way to cure it otherwise, I've tried shrines too... And I can't fast travel to get anywhere, or sleep or wait because I'm constantly losing health..

I love the mod though, I love the effects, but I think 47 hours is too long for me to wait for the poison to be gone and since I want to keep the mod, I'm really looking forward to getting a cure poison potion. XD rofl because I just keep scavenging for food to stay alive lol. Can you just let me know where to buy them? Or do they randomly generate in the stores too?
i73fi  [author] Nov 17, 2014 @ 9:42am
It's indended :)

I'm not eager to confront those in wild nature myself either. As seen in video, level 62 character has a chance with good armor.
Andrelopithecus Nov 16, 2014 @ 1:30pm
i dont know if this is an intended change, but wolves do 200 damage or so now... i got one shotted by a wolf at level 9
i73fi  [author] Sep 12, 2014 @ 2:20am
Updated to v3.2 which extends to official DLCs Dawnguard & Dragonborn.

What's new
- diseases can no longer be cured in Temple of Mara
- ingridients from DLCs covered in this version

If you update from previous version, follow the steps:
1. save game (not quick save)
2. load the save you just made
i73fi  [author] Sep 11, 2014 @ 6:13am
Snickers, you won't have to spend a dime to be cured from diseases... :)

Potions cost alot, so you can consider them very valuable loot when found. To sell or not to sell?

Because money making is so easy price isn't much when you think of it...
Snickers Sep 10, 2014 @ 1:25pm
This mod was a A+ for me, before I discovered the ridicilous prices.

After fighting draugr and skeevers in a burial ground I had to flee for my life. The fight and diseases prooved too much. Was a good feeling of immersion, and was planning to buy lots of potions and food to keep myself alive. But then I saw it. 7600 septims for a cure disease bottle. 2000 for the one I needed. Yeah, now I'm weak as fuck, and the mod expects me to chop lumber until I can afford a potion. What an incredibly disruptive add to an otherwise awesome mod.
Mc_Burgundy Sep 9, 2014 @ 9:36pm
Ok, well, thanks again for this aweosme mod! :D
i73fi  [author] Sep 9, 2014 @ 1:22pm
Little_Tyrant Yep, it can be challenging to start with this mod. Wolves for example are almost impossible to beat with low level character. But yes, armor helps :)
Mc_Burgundy Sep 9, 2014 @ 10:01am
This...this is amazing. I just love how I get ambushed by skeevers, and die before I can draw my sword. (Legendary mode) First time I've ever run from a skeever. ;)
This is a great mod, but I hope the animals don't keep killing me with one bite when I get better armor?
mafeilian Sep 5, 2014 @ 10:47am
Absolutely outstanding.
i73fi  [author] Aug 15, 2014 @ 1:09pm
I'm planning to update this Steam-version to newer. If you're using this mod without DLCs, don't use next update :)

Version 3.2 coming next.
i73fi  [author] Aug 8, 2014 @ 7:57am
RoyalGrue, you're right. When this mod was originally under work there were no DLCs. And this mod doesn't expand to DLCs at the moment, so ingridients from DLCs make it possible to make Cure Potion.

Considering to expand this mod to cover DLCs, but not sure how many use and play this mod without DLCs. So situation exists :)

Costs for potions are purposely so high. There's been talks about costs earlier, but shortly: it's too easy to make septims. And, now that potions cost alot, they are also very valuable loots. It's just who would risk health and sell them in need of septims? :)
Ningauble Aug 7, 2014 @ 10:28pm
I'm still able to make potions this mod should disable (cure disease for example) while other recipes don't function anymore (resist fire) but the rest of the time the CD potion costs more than a fully built house. While I've enjoyed very much the harsher wild animals I'm pretty certain this mod isn't working correctly - for me. I know modding can get pretty complicated when your runing them all together. Still, wonderful concept and a lot of good things here, i73Fi you definitely made things interesting. Thank you.
i73fi  [author] Jul 20, 2014 @ 1:14am
Made somewhat extension to this mod, called Harsh Enemies.

Because this mod doesn't require any DLCs, made optional mod that will.

Update:

Checked with CK raw salmon vs cooking, and the results are:
raw salmon heals 20, cooked salmon 50.

If that applies only to loot - not selfmade, then it's strange. Could even be a bug in the game itself.
i73fi  [author] Jul 17, 2014 @ 11:49am
Techno2, good point. I have disnoticed raw ingridient on that one.
Techno 2 Jul 16, 2014 @ 3:02pm
No i73Fi, I mean that if you catch a wild salmon and then cook the raw salmon meat, the cooked salmon meat heals you less than raw meat. I don't think this makes sense! It only happens if you cook the salmon meat yourself!
john94 Jun 19, 2014 @ 6:52am
one thing thats not so realistic about this is atixa is a disease that affects the victams streaght in the real world not to much on there lockpicking and pickpocketing thats all i noticed
i73fi  [author] Jun 19, 2014 @ 6:08am
Techno 2, foods and bonunes from them are edited :)
Techno 2 Jun 7, 2014 @ 5:17am
Cooking Salmon acutally reduces its hitpoint bonus :/ This intentional?
john94 Apr 29, 2014 @ 7:19am
combinding this with realistic needs and diseases, frostfall, mistwalkers and the many combat overhauls i have makes the game a super survial challenge
Katano Apr 28, 2014 @ 8:34pm
i will check out those mods! ps thanks for looking at my idea! :)
i73fi  [author] Apr 28, 2014 @ 7:46am
Katano, I can put that to consideration. If you want more difficulty, try out Northern Encounters -mod and/or Northern Encounters extras 1. They both bring enemies to the game which certainly increase chances to...die :)
Katano Apr 27, 2014 @ 7:22pm
could you make it so werewolves(not vampires) only have 50% resist disease? I think it's to easy as a werewolf.
i73fi  [author] Apr 1, 2014 @ 11:05am
Lt. Furface, you told you tried cure poison but have you tried Cure Frostbite Venom?
Jamma77 Feb 28, 2014 @ 10:48pm
Add a fatal disease
Waswiththesauce Jan 18, 2014 @ 12:55pm
dang 47 hours for frostbite venom
i73fi  [author] Jan 13, 2014 @ 6:44am
Yep, punishing the player is the idea. To play safe stay on the roads and in worst case scenario be prepared to run. Using carriages is also safer than run between cities/villages.

Healing spell requires quite a lot mana and diseases can prevent casting the spell, so it's wise to have potions - no matter the costs. Temple of Mara will help player when all plans go wrong, so there's always hope :)
Circle of Penguins Jan 9, 2014 @ 11:34pm
There really is no good way out of the potion price. On one had the prices are so high it makes the mod itself seem a lot less worth while.

On the other hand... Bringing down the price makes the mod too easy even at outragous levels such as 2k per pot for example. The whole point is to make diseases and poisons feel dangerous and punish the player. Thats where the fun is.

Like I said, no way out.

Besides all that, I am LOVING this mod! I just started a new character and got out of Bleak Falls Barrow with almost every disease thrown at me and no way to cure it. I became a vampire shortly after but still have all the plagues on me. Can't wait to get them off! lol
Cross Jan 9, 2014 @ 6:53pm
In that case, I think I am going to give it another go!
Am I able to learn the spell?
i73fi  [author] Jan 8, 2014 @ 9:13am
If you're worried about the budget... well, it's not mandatory to spend septims. You can get rid of disease and its effect (blurry vision) with a spell, by visiting temple of Mara or asking help from Vigilants of Stendarr.

Potions cost, but are convenient. It's just question how you want to get rid of diseases. Or how fast. Prices for potions depend also how much merchant likes you and how good your speech skill is.
Cid Highwind Jan 7, 2014 @ 7:09pm
I agree with Ethox. Great mod though
