almost perfect mod but sadly does not work with any bayonet mod

is there another mod that incorporates tighter formation and bayonet?

I'm glad you like it ! Since I have been working on Empire : Total War mods more recently rather than Shogun II ; I am kind of stuck with it since I develop a very large mod. But I still from time to time get information that people play those mods I developed a while ago.

I'm glad people still enjoy those !

That's alright. I figured I'd ask because I prefer tighter formations. It's more realistic for people to stand shoulder to shoulder and backside to backside rather than each soldier 'respecting personal space' you know? Anyways, thank you for getting back to me so quickly! Guess I'll ditch the bayonet mods :P Thank you!

That's perfectly normal, since they both edit the same files. It would be impossible to make them compatible, since I would need to include their mod's changes, and files in mine, or vice-versa for it to work together !

And for that I would need authorization from the makers :(.
It is much easier for the makers of the bayonet mod to release a version with tight formations !

Hello! I'd just like to say that I love your mod and what it's trying to do! However, I've run into a small issue. This mod doesn't appear to be compatible with the bayonet mods. Non-bayonet infantry such as levys stand tightly knit, but all other infantry which the mod adds bayonets to stay dispersed as usual. The bayonet mod doesn't add units or boost stats, but rather replaces the sword and uses the yari-kachi's weapon animations (since it's fit for a rifle). I'd hate to ask this of you, but when you can get around to it, do you think you may be able to make it compatable with bayonet mods? Thank you so much in advance!

Bad effect ? No the effect against ranged weapons is negligible, at the contrary, the front rank is more exposed yes, but the back ranks are more safe now. And we can say the same about the cannon shots. They will have less hits and be less accurate, but taking an Amstrong shot is now deadlier.

Shouldn't this have a bad effect in ranged, missed shots should have a higher chance of hitting.

No, it is only the Vanilla Units, the modded units will work, but have standart formations
dragonkingofthestars 15. nov. 2012 kl. 17:24
would it affect line infantry units modded into the game? (i'm thinking of that mod where you do a western invasion of japan)
Han  [ophavsmand] 15. nov. 2012 kl. 7:39
Absolutelly, if the FOTS line infantry units are not changed in it, but even if it edits it, it will be no problem if you place it upper in the mod manager.

is this mod compadable with other mods? given that it affects teh formation of units i would think so but i'm just checking

Just for the look, I feel the line infantry formations are too large in vanilla
Mitzku 28. okt. 2012 kl. 13:23
ok but i still dont see the point
Han  [ophavsmand] 26. okt. 2012 kl. 13:20
This has negligible effect on melee, not affecting any stat !
Mitzku 24. okt. 2012 kl. 20:57
i guess its good in close combat

1,75 meters between ranks => 1 meter between ranks, 80cm between soldiers => 70cm between soldiers
