Ahah, I thought I didn't find some passage or button on the 5th or 7th floor to get there. And already started to explore floors 8 and 4 for that. Thank you, it made my passage easier and now I can return to the 1st floor.

You mean how to get behind those two portcullises, where you can see a torch in the wall? I can't really give you any hints, but the solution:
It's a red herring, you can't get behind there.

I figured out almost all of the puzzles and i can freely go to level 1. But I didn't explore one area at level 6 Ruined Halls. It is in front of four pits(two pits, two plates and two pits) that are leading to spider area at level 7. Does somebody know how to enter that area?
A have screenshots of this area at my profile(I don't know how to make link to it)

Thanks, I'll try it)

Level 7 puzzle:
This is where it gets really hazy for me, can't really help much, but:
Verse number in those scrolls tells the correct order to read them and the words that start with large letter help figuring out the correct room.
Hint and probably the solution for your problem:
If I remember correctly, one of the rooms had a button and a trap pressure plate. You need to use the trap to re-enact one of the moments from the verse and not the button.

Hopefully those helped.

I think both puzzles were helped quite heavily in the forum thread, but I try to help (although my memory of the puzzles starts to get quite hazy by now.. :P)

Skulls:
Do you mean the named skulls found on level 5? They are not needed on level 7 puzzle
Hint on skulls:
You're meant to return the named skull to their proper resting places
Solution to skull puzzle:
On the level where you found them (level 5 if I remember correctly) there are named tombs with alcoves. You need to put the skulls on those alcoves. 1 named skull to each named tomb. 4 in total if I remember correctly.

Hello! I need help about level 7. I found 5 scrolls, and figured out that order of rooms must be: 1) room with two buttons, 2)room with four squids, 3)poison room and 4) with uggardian.
But I think that this order is not correct. Because button sounds are only enabled in the following sequence: poison room, four squids room, two buttons room (but sound is for only right button) and after that no button sounds. And you have to return to the poison room.
I tried to find some information on forums, but there posts only like my first conclusion. Can someone help me?
And I couldn't find information about sculls. Are they needed for alcoves at level 7 or buttons are working without items on them?

There are no walkthroughs that I know of, but you can find a long thread from Legend of Grimrock's forums that has a lot of help and hints, and a complete secret guide for the mod. Just search Shadows of Grim Moon on grimrock.net 's forums.

Is there any walkthrough or guides?
Raatotiainen  [author] Oct 27, 2018 @ 3:20pm
Thank you. Don't give up, just one more push and you can do it! :)
harpo Oct 27, 2018 @ 2:16pm
Tks, I figured them both out. Got beat up after getting into the last battle. Don't think I got the men to last thru the it but will give it a go. Nice mod....
Raatotiainen  [author] Oct 27, 2018 @ 4:23am
Northeast corner had two pressure plates that you needed to press down at the same time to let the bolt through the door if I recall correctly.
Raatotiainen  [author] Oct 27, 2018 @ 4:19am
If I remember correctly, puzzles to open those two doors were contained in those two larger room areas were the doors are. Try to fiddle with the pressure plates some more. I might install the game and refresh my memories at some point, but atm I can't really help you much further.
harpo Oct 25, 2018 @ 5:05pm
Yes, the last floor. I have guided the lightning bolts and they hit the steel door. I think on the east side I stepped on one plate and threw rocks on two plates on either side to get to the 6th switches. Northeast corner.
Raatotiainen  [author] Oct 24, 2018 @ 2:18pm
On the last floor with the generators? It has been probably almost 5 years since I visited the mod so it's hard to remember all the details, but there were puzzles with pressure plates to open those doors if I recall correctly. Have you turned on the main generators and guided the lightning bolts with the magic fields?
harpo Oct 23, 2018 @ 7:35pm
Almost done but can't open the steel doors on both the east and west side. I see the last post was 2013, hope someone can help me out.
Salathes Jan 1, 2018 @ 3:36am
Have to try this one. Hope it is good. ;)
Raatotiainen  [author] Apr 27, 2013 @ 4:24pm
Sorry for the late answer EpicMedic: your party is too weak for that level if the crabs one hit your party. Dungeon has been completed many times with hard difficulty, it's not the problem. Although, that said, I tried to balance the difficulty properly for the normal difficulty option in mind. If you keep dying from the crabs on hard, no matter what, I strongly suggest trying it on normal difficulty.
EpicMedic Apr 8, 2013 @ 7:26am
everything was good until lvl 7 with the scroll/button puzzle, my characters was at lvl 4 when i reached that lvl and those crabs can 1 hit all my characters ( playing on hard because i find normal slightly to easy) and the the numbers of crabs and birds are way to many, i suggest that you replace atleast the crabs with some weaker enemy.

otherwise the puzzle in this dungeon was incredibly fun and well balanced.

I finally managed to finish Shadows of Grim Moon. Puzzles are very hard with many releating fights. It is definitely the most difficult dungeon I've encountered so far. Here's my review if you are interested in more in-depth review: http://www.grimrock.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=47155#p47155
Raatotiainen  [author] Dec 8, 2012 @ 4:11pm
I've started new one a little bit, but there's been some time limitations, so that I haven't been able to continue on it. Hopefully I find some time in the near future to delve into dungeons again.
hyppyp Dec 8, 2012 @ 10:07am
Any chance for another dungeon Zelurs? :) Have still great memories of this one!
Raatotiainen  [author] Nov 30, 2012 @ 1:26pm
Yes, dungeon is fit for average party. You can find every type of weapons in it.
Jack Dandy Nov 30, 2012 @ 6:53am
Hello, I have a question- is the dungeon fit for an "average" kind of party? What I mean is, can I find all sorts of equipment in it, so for example my axe guy won't end up empty handed?
Raatotiainen  [author] Nov 1, 2012 @ 4:29pm
Once again, thank you for the kind words and congratulations!
Numberouane Nov 1, 2012 @ 11:40am
Finalllllllllly :) YES! WOW thanks to all for the support and after many many tries I did it
I had a lot of fun with this mod and also a lot of stress.
It is very well balanced and the puzzles are very hard for some of them.
I had so much fun facing ogres being level 1 and managed to deal with them for example and the end is also very orginal and good. I also enjoy the non lineary. Few doors remained closed but I was able to complete it.
Thank you again to Zelurs

Thank you, much appreciated!
NighT WolF Oct 30, 2012 @ 7:34pm
Completed the mod today, but missed a lot of secrets and still have 1 key. Probably i will play it someday again. Best and biggest Mod ive seen here so far. It has also a very nice gameplay. Its like you have to work hard, to get control over the monastery. :)
Numberouane Oct 30, 2012 @ 11:54am
THanks :) I miss now a blue gem but cant go through all over again after 5h30 playing & 14/17 secrets found.
Any help would be more than welcome
Thanks again and the mod is really good!
The Red Baron Oct 29, 2012 @ 3:59pm
For whatever reason, I had to re-install this mod to get the 'sound cue' to work. Once it did, the puzzle is quite easy. Numberouane, you need to find those scrolls. If you made it to level seven, you should have little trouble backtracking to find them.
Raatotiainen  [author] Oct 29, 2012 @ 2:43pm
Numberouane: I can't really give any more hints on level 7 puzzle as Xhantos practically tells everything on his hints. Just read those again with thought and same goes for the scrolls of course. If you've lost them, go find them. I said this before, but I say it again: don't drop anything that seems important without writing a note on the map (or on a piece of paper if playing the old school way) where you dropped it.

On level 2 puzzle: I don't know which room you mean, but in general: don't get teleported, avoid them. And be aware what your actions eg. buttons do. And observe the room awhile, see if you spot or figure out the mechanism and then just experiment with it.

I'm afraid that's all I can say without telling the solution.
Numberouane Oct 29, 2012 @ 2:02pm
Thanks but I read the thread but it does not help... I finish by dragon but button does no sound and demon room, sometimes sound on first click or second then I lost the scrolls so dont know....arg please help me... about level 2, the room with teleporters and button just before, I keep on being teleported to stairs whatever I do... Can you please give a tip only? I would really appreciate any help from you or xhantos... Thanks
Raatotiainen  [author] Oct 29, 2012 @ 12:10pm
For all who are stuck in level 7 puzzle, check the thread on the mod on grimrock.net . Also Xhantos has made a really good list of secrets that he has found. It's on the same thread. Check it out: http://www.grimrock.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3459

Numberouane: on level 5 puzzle Did you come to that particular catacomb area from level 6? There are other ways to get into that area beside that, they might help you in your problem. Right & Wrong scroll was meant to help you with the trap, which the area hold

Vandomar: Beside level 2, strange gems are found in levels 5, 6 & 7
The Red Baron Oct 29, 2012 @ 12:56am
Can someone give me an idea of which levels the strange green gems are on? I've missed one somewhere, and can't find it.
Numberouane Oct 28, 2012 @ 9:07am
@StarScepter put another item first
Im still stuck with my question below + level 7 puzzle + room on level 2 with teleporters. I solved one with buttons on the wall but the symetric one, I m stuck.
Can someone help please? Thanks
StarScepter Oct 28, 2012 @ 5:36am
How do you get the Trickster's Key. I can't hold on to it because it keeps returning to the altar.
Numberouane Oct 27, 2012 @ 11:20am
Hi, On level 5, NW area where there is the message about right & wrong, there is an eastern gate that remains closed whatever I do... Can someone help me please?
Thanks. I really enjoy playing the dungeon so far.
Raatotiainen  [author] Oct 20, 2012 @ 8:25am
Thank you! Ok, I'll propably have to think the end fight again. I was a little cautious to put a second gorogorm there as the last level can be a little strenous on health, especially if the player haven't stacked health potions/reagants to make one.
vidarfreyrgudmundsson Oct 19, 2012 @ 6:42pm
Also.. by far the best mod I played.
vidarfreyrgudmundsson Oct 19, 2012 @ 6:35pm
Took me 13,5 hours. Probably 4 of those went into the puzzle on level 7. And 3 more to find the second blue gem. The best part for me was the non-linearity of the levels. Some tough fighting with multiple opponents. And also some very clever use of the 'invisible teleporter' to make puzzles. My characters were at level 12 in the end, (started at level 2-3. I couldn't be bothered to make new characters). I found 12/17 secrets. The door with the gear key is the only one I know I didn't find.
vidarfreyrgudmundsson Oct 19, 2012 @ 6:21pm
Finished! Loved it all the way. Very challenging at parts. Good puzzles. In many ways better then the game itself. Regarding the ending. It was a bit to easy. Because fighting one opponent with lots of squares to move around is no challenge at all in Grimrock. And a stationary monolith firing lightning bolts does not add much to the challenge since you can easily stand out of the line of fire. So my recomendations is to have at least two goromorgs pestering the player at all times.
Raatotiainen  [author] Oct 16, 2012 @ 6:20am
Thank you again hyppyp for your review.

vidar: What!? Thank you! I'll have to fix the wyvern steaks asap[/asap]
vidarfreyrgudmundsson Oct 15, 2012 @ 3:45pm
hehe, damn shame I tried almost everything in my inventory then ;) Regarding the secret floor, if it is the 8th floor you are referring too, the wyvern steaks don't seem to work as food, it only heals characters when consumed. But it's good to be reminded of the herder farm. I will be heading there then.
Raatotiainen  [author] Oct 15, 2012 @ 3:38pm
vidarfreyrgudmundson: the 3rd hint on my previous post.. you don't need any items :)

hyppyp: No problem, sometimes the heroes just won't triumph.. Food is scarce on purpose, it's one element you need to manage. Don't sleep so hastily.

For those who really struggle with food: There's a herder "farm" on level 4 and if you find the secret floor, you can say bye bye to your food problems..
vidarfreyrgudmundsson Oct 15, 2012 @ 12:07pm
I managed to solve the puzzle with the hint you provided Zelurs. I think maybe the 5 scrolls are a little too cryptic, and don't really give clues to what items to place on 3 of the 4 altars, rather the statues themselves do. That might be confusing to some. I am still missing one blue gem. I'm not sure what I missed. But I'm sure I'll find it when I have the time to play.
hyppyp Oct 15, 2012 @ 5:23am
Tried it for a second time now, but stuck again. The lack of food is a real nuisance. Guess it's just to hard for me, although I finished LOG without too much trouble. Sorry Zelurs, very good dungeon, but fed up now entirely :(
