=== v3.8B: The Rise of the Octarian Shogunate! ===

After over 8 years, the fabled "there's Octolings now" update finally arrives...

....

The changelog is too long for Steam. This IS a problem, isn't it?
I'll link a pastebin with the full changelog in the hotfix patch coming later tonight.

Update: Feb 29, 2024 @ 2:31pm

If I find any more commas out of place I'm going to lose my mind.

Update: Feb 29, 2024 @ 10:38am

So I forgot to remove a certain microdungeon from its testing microdungeon pool. Oops.
I'm sorry if you went on a desert planet and got freaking Annihliated by a bunch of sanitized octopuses with scalpels.

It probably shouldn't happen again.

~ v3.1b Patch Notes ~

- Two new objects have been added: the IV Bag and the Deepsea Radio.
-- The IV Bag can be found in a new microdungeon, and all races learn its recipe upon pickup.
-- The Deepsea Radio can be found in a new microdungeon, and its recipe is not only learned upon pickup, but also from the CQ-80.

- Added six new clothing items: Callie & Marie's outfits from Rise of the Mammalians, Splat3's story mode.
-- These are tier 2 and are upgraded from the basic Callie and Marie outfits. Inklings will know these recipes by default.

- Added a new Kamabo Co. laboratory microdungeon.
-- It can be found on Alien and Toxic planets. Most of its NPCs are aggressive while others aren't; there's treasure and new objects to be found there.
-- Before anyone asks, yes, any in-fighting between its NPCs is normal. Sanitization does a lot of weird things to your brain, after all...

- Added MORE SLUGS, including the Wasabi and Alternan!
-- There is also a new codex about dragon slugs because I thought it would be cute; it can be found in Inkling microdungeons and can be learned as a recipe from picking it up!

- Added six new tentacle colors (five of them usable for accents).
!! These may be subject to change once I get better references for them. !!

- Added two new skin tones because I felt options were lacking.
Let me know if there's any skin tones you want to see-- these guys can have all the same skin tones as humans can.

- Changed up treasurepools a bit. Different codices can appear in the wild now, and there's two unique treasurepools for the Kamabo Co. laboratory microdungeons as well. (I am going to add more for sure.)

- Moved some more clothing recipes to be included in the Inkling Crafting Table's clothing section.

- Inklings should now know the recipes for both Pearl and Marina's outfits from the start.

- Fixed up the Callie and Marie wigs because wow that was some really old artwork! They look nicer now. :)
-- These changes are also reflected in the Splat2 story mode wigs and the new Splat3 story mode wigs.

- Fixed the issue with Neo Agent 3's shoes and og Agent 3's shoes; they shouldn't be stealing each other's shoes anymore.

== v3.0 Beta Release! ==

== New: Microdungeons! ==
- Added functionality for a custom tileset for objects in this mod, and with it, new microdungeons! You won't find them everywhere because Inklings are generally pretty choosy about where they like to live, but maybe you'll meet some new friends.... or foes? Regardless, there's probably something in it for you to find them!

-- Inkling homes can be found on Forest, Jungle, Arctic, and Oceanic biomes.
-- Inkling merchants can be found on Forest, Jungle, and Oceanic biomes.
-- Spyke can be found on Forest and Oceanic biomes.
-- Kamabo Co. laboratories can be found on Jungle, Toxic and Alien biomes.
-- Enclaves of Sanitized can be found on Toxic, Alien and Volcanic biomes.

- More microdungeons are planned for the future! I just wanted to get these out there and functional.
-- If anyone wishes to create dungeons or microdungeons for this mod, the tileset and its resources are located under /tiled and /tileset in the root of the mod folder.

- Created new custom treasure pools for this mod. These are weighted to be a bit more generous than vanilla treasure pools so you'll hopefully see more interesting things.
-- These include, but aren't limited to, "commoninklingTreasure", "uncommoninklingTreasure", "inklingBookcaseTreasure" and "inklingFoodTreasure".

== Objects ==

- Added the Dancing Flower, Safety Railing, and Surveillance Poster. These are all flagged as "Kamabo Co." items and can be used to attract sanitized tenants.
-- Use a CQ-80 to unlock the recipes for these items. You can purchase these from Agent Eight at the Outpost, from a Kamabo Co. Scientist NPC, or sometimes you can find them out in the wild in chests/crates/etc.

- Added the Golden Behemoth Statue, the Golden Dragon Statue, and the Divine Salmonid Statue. Salmonid swag!
-- You can very rarely find the two golden statues in Ocean Floor chests. The Divine Salmonid Statue is learned after you craft the second Smallfry Diary.

- Added the Wooden Ursine Radio.
-- You can also find this rarely in Oceanic biome chests.

== Items ==
- Added the Tattered Hero's Headgear, Tattered Hero's Poncho, and Tattered Hero's Sandals. These are alternates of the Tier 6 - Separator set, with the Headgear giving off the soft blue glow you know and love while the Poncho protects from Sanitization. Captain 3 can be seen modeling these at the Outpost.
-- Inklings should know the recipe for these from the start.

- Added the Scavenger's gear and the Explorer's gear; the former is a tier 3 starting outfit for Splatoon 3's story mode and the latter is a tier 4 upgraded hero suit. Both have matching backpacks.
-- Inklings should know the recipe for these from the start.

- Added the Buddy-in-a-Backpack, a special version of the new hero suit's backpack. :)
-- This recipe is learned by crafting the tier 4 backpack.

- Added the Deepsea DJ's Hat and Deepsea DJ's Tentas.
-- Use a CQ-80 to unlock the recipe for this item, and the wig is learned from crafting the hat.

- Added the Kamabo Co. Scalpel as a craftable tier 6 weapon. It's a quick and deadly shortsword-type blade that inflicts Lethal sanitization on its foes.
-- Unlocked by picking up a Vial of Strange Ooze.

- Added the Glowing 8-Ball. It's fun to toss around, hit people with, re-live frustrating testing memories with...
-- Use a CQ-80 to unlock the recipe for this item.

- Added the Canned Power Eggs, a potent source of fuel that you can get from Inkling merchants or occasionally from boxes/crates/chests associated with Inklings. One can equals 55 points of fuel.
-- These can't be crafted, because you're not a Salmonid.

- Tweaked the buy/sell prices of the Delinquent's Sash and Bandit's Top because they were weirdly more expensive than other idol goodies.

- The Cleansing Death Can now inflicts moderate sanitization with its attacks.

== Planet / Biomes ==
- Made some modifications to modded items added to vanilla drop pools.

== NPCs ==
- Added the Sanitized race. These guys are essentially clones of the Inkling race, but have different voiceclips and are more limited in terms of colors. There are no plans to make them playable; they are for NPC purposes only.
-- There's plenty of wearable stuff, as well as the Sanitized skin tone, if you want to roleplay being one of these.

- Sanitized guard tenants and Kamabo Co. scientist merchant tenants are now Sanitized race rather than Inkling race.

- Added aggressive Sanitized NPCs. It's exactly what it sounds like on the tin: if you have anything that protects against Sanitization, you might wanna don that when fighting these guys.
-- Protective gear includes the Clean Mask, the Deepsea DJ's Tentas, the Tattered Hero's Poncho, and all of the Sunbathed wigs.

- Agent Three has been promoted to Captain Three, congratulations! She now wears her cool new digs from Splatoon 3: Rise of the Mammalians.

- Captain Three and Agent Eight both have new dialogue.

== Codices ==
- Added four new codices, one relating to Octo Expansion, two relating to Rise of the Mammalians, and one about Off the Hook.
-- The first one's recipe is learned by picking up a Vial of Strange Ooze. The second can be learned by crafting a Plush Smallfry, and the third is learned by crafting the second codex. The fourth is a default recipe.

- Rewrote the inthreediary codex, because the person who originally wrote it turned out to be a very not-great person.
-- But that's okay because this is timely for Captain Three's new stuff.

- Rewrote the two Octarian diaries, because the previous versions didn't reflect the speaking tone of the author very well. They're much nicer, don't you think?
-- Crafting the Octoshot now teaches you the recipe for the first of these diaries. Crafting the first diary teaches you the recipe for the second one.

- Codices themed around Octo Expansion now have a unique sprite.

- Codices themed around Salmonids now have a unique sprite.

- Made small tweaks to a few different codices for lore consistency.

== Other ==
- Added new nudibranch colorations, though you've likely already seen them! This includes the striking Sakura, the sassy Hime, and the mysterious Hachiroku.

- Altered sources of sanitization, again. Because it's more relevant now.
-- Minor sanitization: Vial of Strange Ooze use, Kamabo Co. Dualies
-- Standard sanitization: Physical contact with Strange Ooze, Cleansing Death Can, Berserk Agent's Gaze
-- Lethal sanitization: Kamabo Co. Charger, Kamabo Co. Scalpel (newly added!)

- Tweaked and fixed the three levels of Sanitized status a bit.
-- Minor status is from splash damage and highly-diluted injections. It does 7% HP/sec and gives a 160% attack boost. The Vial of Strange Ooze's duration is 75s, or 30s from other sources.
-- Standard status is from physical exposure that may or may not get into eyes/mouth/etc. It does 10% HP/sec and gives a 240% attack boost. Lasts for 35s.
-- Lethal status is from bloodstream exposure to raw ooze. It does 12.5% HP/sec and gives a 310% attack boost. Lasts for 20s, or 7s if from a charger shot.

== Bugfixes ==
- Relocated the Tri-Stringer and Tacticooler recipes so they can now actually be made properly. Their files ended up in the wrong location.
- Fixed stray pixels on the Delinquent's Tentacles.

Update: Aug 15, 2023 @ 3:14pm

== Pre-v3.0 Bugfix Patch ==

- Made some objects behave, found some missing recipes, and generally made a lot of adjustments to a lot of things for v3.0 content.

- Added some slugs and some codices.

- Added [REDACTED], and so much more...

Update: Jan 29, 2023 @ 9:08pm

=== Cool and Epic Splat3 Update the First ===

Emphasis on "the first". Due to time constraints I haven't been able to put EVERYTHING into this update, but I hammered out a lot of things I wanted to do. There'll be more stuff when I have time to work on it, whenever that is.

Anything craftable is a base recipe unless otherwise noted.

== Weapons ==
- Added the Tri-Stringer. It's tier 3, and is strong enough to use on both wildlife and in self-defense against other sapients! Get a direct hit on a foe and it'll inflict the Slow status effect.
-- There will be more tiered bows in future updates, based on whatever variants are released in Splatoon 3.
-- "but marine we already have the reeflux" It'll happen, just be patient...!

- The Death Can has a sequel now.
-- The recipe is learned by picking up the Death Can, so toss it around a bit and pick it up again.

- All Splattershot, Roller and Blaster models have been tweaked or downright resprited for maximum freshness.
- The Hero Charger and E-Liter 4k models have also been resprited for maximum freshness.
-- THESE DO NOT INCLUDE MODIFIED VERSIONS, WHICH WILL GET THEIR NEW LOOK SOON.

- Tier 1~3 chargers, the "light" chargers, splatlings, dualies, brushes and many unique weapons are unchanged.
-- Light chargers and splatlings may be resprited following review.

- Chargers in general now make that cool direct hit sound when their projectile hits something.

== Objects ==
- Added the Tacticooler, which dispenses a drink of your choice! Refreshing.
- Added the Squirby, and also the Long Squirby (recipe learned by crafting the Squirby).
- Added some Colorful Squid Stickers.
- Added the Smallfry Plush because we love Lil Buddy! <3
- Added the Inkling Lockers. The basic gray one is a starting recipe, with 4 colorways learned by crafting it once.

- All I want to do on a cozy winter day is sprite objects. There are so many objects I want to add.
- namely the Dancing Flower, that is my FAVORITE decoration ever

== Clothes ==
- Added the Delinquent's Shark Mask, Delinquent's Tentacles, Delinquent's Sash and Delinquent's Tights. You can craft all of these, or purchase the latter three from the craftable merchants.
-- The Shark Mask is tier 2, the outfit set is tier 1.
- Added the Bandit's Eel Mask, Bandit's Side-Braid, Bandit's Top and Bandit's Pants. You can craft all of these, or purchase the latter three from the craftable merchants.
-- The Eel Mask is tier 2, the outfit set is tier 1.
-- You WILL appreciate the Bandit's Pants, those took 4 hours to sprite.

- None of these are dyeable... yet.
- "where's Big Man???" Later, I promise. Maybe not in the way you expect.

== Consumables ==
- Added 9 new drinks for the Tacticooler. They only give one specific buff each, but for a good long while.
- Added the Chocolate Truffles for festive flair.

== Crafting Changes ==
- All purchasable idol clothes are now starting recipes.
You can still purchase them as normal, though, and in fact it's probably cheaper overall to do so.
-- This includes: the Splat1 Squid Sisters outfits, the Off the Hook sets (non-DLC non-FinalFest set), and the Deep Cut sets.

- All other idol outfits remain unchanged. Splat2 Squid Sisters outfits are still tiered armor and wig versions thereof; the FinalFest Off the Hook outfits are still tiered armor; the OE Off the Hook outfits are still tied to the CQ-80.

- The medal items have been depreciated. You shouldn't be able to craft them anymore, but you can still use, sell, etc them as you like. They've been replaced with the Tacticooler drinks, which are a lot more accessible.
-- If you REALLY want them back, you can /spawnitem them in like other depreciated items.

- The assorted IUDB Drives have been updated here and there with new recipes if you're inexplicably not a cephalopod.
- You can now craft the Inkling Crafting Table and Inkling Kitchen Corner from the Inkling Crafting Table.

== NPCs ==
- Agent 3 now sells plain Inkling Lockers.
- Agent 8 now sells Medkits instead of Raw Tentacle starts.
- The Kamabo Corporation merchant now sells Raw Tentacle starts, the CQ-80, and the exclusive Pale Inkling Locker.

- Yes, Agent 3 is now Captain 3. She'll get new clothes in the next update.

== Et Cetera ==
- Fixed an issue causing the Basic Splatfest Tee to not teach the player new recipes upon pickup/crafting.
-- If you don't know the recipes from this item, drop it + pick it up again, or buy one, or whatever.
- Added more NPC types to the Inkling Spawner object, including the Kamabo Corporation merchant.
- Flooded planets should appear less frequently now. Ideally, I want to just flesh out Oceanic planets instead.
- A couple codex entries have been tweaked so their text doesn't escape the textbox anymore.

Update: Sep 9, 2022 @ 12:17am

Mini pre-Splat3 update.

Actual Splatoon 3 content will be a "when I have the time" thing; my Master's program is going to keep me slow. I want to do some more Octo Expansion content before I move onto 3-centric stuff.

=== Bugfixes ===
- Fixed the Fresh Ink Tank complaining about status effects. It now gives a flat +20 health.
-- Splat1 ink tank still gives scaling energy boost. Octo Expansion ink tank still gives scaling energy boost and +10 health.
- The Agent 3 wig shouldn't be throwing errors about mask.png anymore due to actually having a file to reference now. :/

=== Content ===
- Added 20 new hairstyles (10 for each model type) based off of the new Splat3 hairstyles. Some are marking color-compatible, but not all are at the moment.
- Added some more names to the RNG (Random Name Generator) list.
