General
  • Fixed crash on Load Game :(
  • Fixed crash on an Immolation case.
  • Removed Mountain Bias, took the spawn too often out of deserts and into jungles and grasslands.
  • Saves should be compatible with version 7. But diplomacy may be broken due to new variables that were introduced and won't have up-to-date values, keeping AIs too friendly towards aQ.

Sacred Sites and Tourism Victory
May win peacefully using Sacred Sites for now, however some rules have been changed to make it more difficult:
  • Once the united nations is founded, receive a 25% tourism penalty (which should be big), which means victory must be achieved peacefully before united nations to have a smooth sailing. This was added as a balancing mechanic test, not as resemblance of reality. May add a resolution to legitimize in the future, giving delagates back and removing the tourism penalty (which should be extremely hard to pass given the lack of delegates in the first place).
  • The more terrorism caused, the bigger the general public condemnation will be, reducing tourism input on rivals. However, followers of the true faith will not care, so the penalty will shrink and eventually dissapear as the population is coverted to the true faith (if it ever is). To understand the thought process remember that the game doesn't have sects within a religion, so the founded religion should be considered an extremist sect of it, which would not be disapproving of terror actions.
  • The UU now generates a token amount of tourism on their missions (from the terror propaganda generated), to counter the tourism penalties. So whenever a tourism victory is planned, and the pre-UN timeframe is lost, faith must be invested on extremists to keep generating tourism and increase terror, this will generate further rejection of tourism on non-followers and diplomacy penalties that lead to war (due to terrorism condemnation), until the extremists manage to covert the population / terror reaches extreme heights.
  • The generated tourism from missions is affected by the average terror levels of the target. Each terror level will increase tourism on terror missions by 10%
  • Every event during an immolation generates tourism separately where "one amount" is worth 25% of the tourism per turn. The owner of the plot where a unit dies receives half an amount, the owner of the unit that dies half the amount (if it is an aQ unit, the owner of the plot receives it instead), if the unit is a great people receive nine extra amounts, after that, all known nations receive a tenth of an amount from the immolation itself.
  • This means an immolating UU will generate the most tourism by killing great people. And after that by killing units standing on foreign territory. Finally, aQ can sacrifice their own great people by moving them to their target's lands and immolating them there. aQ units that die have to be standing on plots with the color of the target for them to generate tourism. If the UU were to immolate right on top of their own capital, it will trigger the last rule, giving a tenth to all nations (which is minimal but > 0).
  • Values have been set assuming the player goes for a tourism victory from the start of the game, and as such picks Sacred Sites, but fails or avoids winning before the UN is founded, making the victory go for the long game. Tweaking may be needed.

Diplomacy:
  • All nations will keep separate counts of attacks made on them versus attacks made in general. Attacks made on them will cost 1 opinion if Immolation, 5 if terror attacks. Attacks on others cost only 1 opinion, and past 5, only a tenth of the value, however terror attacks caused by local supporters have no opinion cost, only infiltrating UUs. Negative opinion is capped at 50.
  • If a terror attack destroys a wonder on others, it will cost opinion based on the approach towards the victim and aQ. It costs 20 opinion if friendly to the victim and hostile to aQ, 15, 10, 5 and finally 0 opinion if hostile to the victim and friendly with aQ. Deceptive and Afraid AIs will act as if friendly. The relationship heals at a rate of 1 opinion per turn at standard speed.

UU:
  • Movement has been tweaked, mobility promotion is now split in two. Mobility gives 1 extra movement and allows to Ignore Zone of Control. This is meant so the unit can move one rough tile into enemy units and still be able to immolate. The upgrade is Enhanced Mobility, which gives 1 extra movement and allows to Ignore Terrain Cost. Making the unit move one less tile than previously on open terrain, but allowing to move one extra tile on rough terrain and also the ability to cross rivers without issues, although this mobility now costs two promotions instead of one. May make one not require the other in the future, if the reduced mobility early game is too nerfing.
  • Added promotions for Immolation builds, the first doubles damage, the second protects your (other) units from it. The final one triggers Immolation automatically on unit death (this will trigger all bonuses from Immolation, like pressure, tourism, or Interfaith Dialogue belief, but won't double dip on the death of the immolator himself, nor units that died to the first immolation).
  • Changed promotion icons for better visibility.

Version 7
  • Evangelism belief now displays erosion amounts on city plot (for all civs).
  • Unity of Prophets belief should now also protect against pressure loss caused from immolation.
  • Diplomacy, nations you have met will receive news about your terror attacks and lower their opinion of you up to a cap. The cap raises as you cause terror attacks on their soil. (If you attack others they care but not too much, if you attack them they will care a lot more).
  • Added more levels to opinions about you caused by terror attacks.
  • UU's Immolation generates 1/5 of the (negative) opinion of a terror attack, but cannot overpower the negative opinion from terror attacks themselves.
  • UU's Immolation Mission reduces 2 influence with known city states.
  • Tweaked the AI's weighing of the UI, should build it automatically even less.
  • Interfaith Dialogue belief now works with the UU's Immolation Mission. But it doesn't make sense to me that there would be dialogue among faiths, which advances science for the attacker, after a suicide attack. At best the defender's population would lose faith (in the creation) and receive science (due to lower cultural focus on faith).
  • Saves not compatible with Version 6

  • UU now receives 15% cost reduction from The Mosque of Djenne since it can't make use of extra spread religions.
  • City Banners now show the turn the last attack happened on.
  • City Banners now display (Infiltrated) if the city has been infiltrated by the UU recently, otherwise, it will display (Local Supporters) if the city has local supporters that may start an attack on their own (see mechanics for rules on this), otherwise nothing, which means there is absolutely no chance of an attack to happen on its own.
  • Saves not compatible with Version 5

  • Terror Attack now not buyable from Reformation Belief To The Glory of God that unlocks all great people.
  • Terror Attack now is not available on Mayan, Liberty, or other Choose Free Great People dialogs.
  • Terror Attack now does not generate faith for you or the AI with Reliquary belief.
  • Terror Attack now doesn't trigger further great people bonuses on spawn (like Mausoleum or Tourism one-shot).
  • City States don't request Terror Attacks anymore.
