### **Lifestyle: Hobbies - pre-0.4 (Art Update) Patch 0.3.5.h.0.5.1** ###

**Note:** *this version works exclusively for Build 42 and up and is not compatible with Build 41 saves. This version is INCOMPATIBLE with Lifestyle's experimental and B41 versions, nor are they interchangeable - removing these other versions is recommended!*

- **ADDED:** Updated Translation Files
- The Spanish (ES) translation files have been updated by **Meza**.
- The Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR) translation files have been updated by **Angry**.
- The French (FR) translation files have been updated by **Xianah**.
- The Korean (KR) translation files have been updated by **Blumountain**.

- **ADDED:** A new "Art" skill that will influence most mechanics introduced in the 0.4 update. As characters improve their Art skill, they gain the ability to create a broader range of inventions and produce more intricate and refined artwork.

- **ADDED:** A new object, the Easel, which can be crafted under the Carpentry category after reading a new recipe magazine. Once built, the Easel allows players to add canvases and participate in the new painting hobby.

- **ADDED:** Painting Activity/Hobby: Characters can use the Easel to create various paintings based on their Art skill level. Work on paintings can be paused and resumed at any time. Completed paintings can be given custom titles and descriptions, and displayed on walls. Right-clicking on a painting lets any player view all relevant details about it.

- **ADDED:** New 3D items: Art Supplies, Artist's Paintbrush, and Art Palette, all required for painting. Paintbrushes and Palettes can be crafted after reading the new magazine, while Art Supplies must be found on the map. All new items have been added to the procedural distribution table and can be found in various locations, with higher chances in containers from schools (all), daycares (art supplies), and art stores (all).

- **ADDED:** A new recipe magazine, "HomeStyle: Secrets of the Atelier", which can be found in typical recipe magazine locations.

- **ADDED:** A new "Art Review" UI.

- **ADDED:** For convenience, the artwork review menu will auto-close when the player gets too far from the painting.

- **ADDED:** A dozen new icons and sounds for the new painting hobby.

- **ADDED:** Hundreds of new art for the new painting hobby, from basic sketches to complex masterpieces.

- **ADDED:** Players can now frame their paintings. After placing a painting, select 'Frame Options...' from the context menu to open the frame selection screen. Frames are persistent and remain with the painting until manually replaced or removed.

- **ADDED:** When starting a new painting, the outcome is chosen based on a weighted randomized calculation where paintings at or closest to the player's Art skill level are more likely to be picked.

- **ADDED:** "Paint" option changes to "Practice Painting" if player Art skill level is less than 2.

- **ADDED:** New trait, *Artistic*: "Naturally gifted artists with a strong affinity for art-related hobbies. They also excel as writers".

- **ADDED:** Resource consumption during painting depends on a combination of the Art skill and relevant traits (*All Thumbs*, *Dextrous*, and *Artistic*).

- **ADDED:** Extra painting option: Paint (Simple), allowing high-level artists to recreate simpler works from earlier skill stages.

- **ADDED:** 6 new disco ball modes - Random, Shuffle, Circles, Gold, Rainbow, and Spots.

- **ADDED:**
> **Ambitions**
>
> **The "Ambitions" mechanic is a long-term goal system**, inspired by Sims' lifetime wishes. It allows players to set and pursue meaningful objectives that shape their character's journey and provide a feeling of progression over time. These ambitions are entirely optional and can be tailored to different playstyles, offering unique perks and rewards upon completion.
>
> **Players can choose from a variety of ambitions that represent significant goals or achievements**. These can range from mastering a set of skills, collecting rare items, exploring certain areas, completing challenges or anything that the ambition creator may think of.
>
> **The number of ambitions that can be active at the same time is configurable and, once selected, each ambition comes with a series of objectives and conditions that players need to satisfy.** These can vary in complexity and some can even impose conditions on the player while the ambition is active. For example, the 'Terminator' ambition will impose High Exertion on the player until completed as long as it remains active.
>
> **Ambitions can be hidden or completely disabled until players meet specific criteria.** Hidden ambitions will appear as greyed-out silhouettes in the ambitions menu under their respective categories and can't be selected. Disabled ambitions will not appear in the menu at all.
>
> **Ambitions can be either active or passive.** Active ambitions must be manually activated in the ambitions menu to be pursued, while passive ambitions are always in progress. Activated ambitions occupy an active slot, and no additional ambitions can be activated once the active limit is reached. To discourage bypassing this limit, ambitions can be set to reset their progress if deactivated. Additionally, activating an ambition triggers a cooldown, preventing deactivation until the cooldown period ends. Both the active ambition limit and the cooldown duration are configurable in the sandbox options.
>
> **Ambitions can provide both passive and active benefits.** Upon completing an ambition, all passive benefits are granted automatically. Active benefits, however, are only available when the completed ambition is activated. Activating a completed ambition occupies an active slot, sharing the same limit as other activated ambitions, whether completed or in progress.
>
> **Ongoing development is focused on expanding the base selection of ambitions and providing server admins with more tools to configure the system.** This includes greater control over all ambitions, such as the ability to disable, reset, hide, or even adjust specific goals in real time.
>
> **The new menu can be accessed by holding Q (new option in the radial menu).**

- **ADDED:** New group performances for musical instruments.

- **ADDED:** Additional context option flavor icons.

- **ADDED:** Sculpting Station - Players can now make use of the newly introduced **Sculpting Station**, allowing them to create unique sculptures and special furniture pieces. The recipe for the Sculpting Station can be unlocked by reading the **HomeStyle: Secrets of the Atelier** magazine. In an upcoming patch, the sculpting process will begin to consume resources, and there will be an added chance of failure.

- **ADDED:** Note System - The first phase of an interactive tutorial system has been implemented, bringing a helpful **Note System** to the game. These notes will appear when specific conditions are met and provide useful tips and guidance about various mechanics of the mod. Most notes can be expanded to reveal additional details, offering deeper insights and instructions to enhance the player's experience. For now only a few notes have been introduced in order to test the system, with more planned to be added in the future.

- **ADDED:** Distinct Sound Cue for Masterpiece Completion** - Completing a masterpiece will now trigger a unique sound cue, helping to further distinguish the moment of creating a significant work of art.

- **ADDED:** Playable Violins - In response to community feedback, violins are now playable!

- **CHANGED:** The tooltip description for 0.2's "HomeStyle: DISCO Special Edition" magazine has been updated.

- **CHANGED:** Revised descriptions for most Lifestyle traits for clarity and consistency.

Oh... Hi! Apparently we've hit the character limit. Full change notes can be found in our discord server.
