Circe

GAMEPLAY

Added exploding Wadjets whilst a Titan is alive to make the fight more challenging.


Increasing the potency of damage upgrades for Radiance, as it had the lowest damage bonus out of any weapon and adding an extra bonus to Meteor upgrades that gives bonus damage to mini bosses as the damage felt quite underwhelming against them.

Reducing the crush armor for almost every enemy as it was significantly reducing the damage of the Tremor Hammer and Meteor, the only enemies unaffected are Guardians, Titans and Scarabs. There's too many changes to list individually, so here are some highlights.

Anubite
80% --> 65% crush armor

90% --> 50% crush armor

Pharaoh
99% --> 70% crush armor

Slinger
99% --> 50% crush armor

Wadjet
80% --> 60% crush armor


Reducing the damage and projectile speed of Wadjets as they were quite oppressive in the early game leading to some frustrating deaths. Also reducing the damage of Camelry and Sphinx a bit too as they have a similar issue, but not quite as severe.

Reducing the spawn rate of the fast moving exploding Wadjets that spawn every 5 waves as they were spawning way too frequently for how much damage they dealt.

Increasing the base damage of Mjolnir to compensate for its slow attack rate, felt quite weak in comparison to other weapons.

Reducing the time it takes for power ups, coins and hearts to respawn, rewarding the players that move around the map more than the ones that are idle.

2 NEW WEAPONS

Light of Olympus
- Fires 8 projectiles outwards from your hero that explode after a delay, or when enemies come into contact with them.
- Deals 140 hack and 140 crush damage per projectile and fires every 7 seconds.
- Upgrades include: damage, explosion size and recharge time.

Promethean Fire
- Create a trail of fire where ever you walk that deals constant damage in a small radius.
- Each projectile deals 30 hack damage per second in a 1.5 meter radius and lasts 4.0 seconds.
- Upgrades include: attack rate, damage, damage against myth units, fire size and lifespan.


2 NEW POWER UPS

Flaming Weapons
- +100% damage for 30 seconds
- Duration increases with Ring of the Nibelung upgrade

Frost
- All currently spawned enemies are frozen for 20 seconds and enemies that spawn after are slowed by 40% for the duration
- Duration increases with Ring of the Nibelung upgrade

+20% Damage against humans

Wand of Gambantein
+5% Light of Olympus, Pestilence and Poseidon’s Trident attack rate


5 NEW ENEMIES

Mother (mini boss)
A blood covered Mummy will spawn on wave 7, has an attack that slows you, drops a Relic on death

Scorpion King (mini boss)
A giant Scorpion Man will spawn on wave 12, moves slightly faster than other bosses, drops a Relic on death

Golden Crocodile (mini boss)
A Golden Crocodile will spawn on wave 19 that fires homing magical projectiles, drops a Relic on death

Golden Crocodile (unit)
A variant of the Petsuchos that fires homing magical projectiles, drops a yellow soul on death (10 gold)

Zealous Avenger (unit)
A variant of the Avenger with increased hitpoints and armor, drops a yellow soul on death (10 gold)


VISUALS

Added a new button to the hero select screen that allows you to change the lighting/time of day.

Added a yellow arrow above Relics so they are easier to see.

Added a trailing effect to Ballista, Priest and Siege Tower projectiles.

Slightly reduced the brightness of Tremor Hammers shockwave.

Ballistas at max level now have an iron texture.

Doubled the particle amount for the frost wave effect for Skadi's Frost weapon.


AUDIO

Added a new burning sound set when enemies take damage from fire.

Updated crush damage sounds against fleshy units to sound more impactful.

Updated hack damage sounds to be slightly quieter.

Guardians have a new stone crushing sound set when taking crush damage.

Removed pierce flesh sounds from Dust Devils and Fire Balls when dealing damage to enemies.


OPTIMISATIONS

Removed a few unused sounds, reducing mod size slightly.

Reduced the amount of triggers active at the same time, deleted several unused triggers and consolidated trigger effects into fewer triggers. Overall this slightly reduces CPU usage and scenario file size.


FIXES

- Updated the collision of enemies so Poseidon’s Trident projectiles have an easier time hitting larger enemies
- Fixed a few typos in upgrade description and re-wrote a few descriptions to be easier to understand
- Fixed Mercenary Cavalry not receiving the frost visual effect when Skadi's Frost was level 11
- Fixed an instance of Mjolnir attack rate becoming slower and not faster with the Wand of Gambantein upgrade
- Fixed Mjolnir sometimes arcing to an invisible target when Gungnire is also researched
- Fixed level up bonuses sometimes not being applied if the player receives multiple level ups at once
- Fixed Dust Devils sometimes remaining idle after spawning
- Fixed Meteor explosion effects playing again after levelling up Meteor when an explosion has recently occurred
- Fixed max level of Pestilence description missing bonus damage to humans
- Fixed exploding Wadjets not getting skewered by Tridents or taking damage from Fiery Caduceus
- Fixed Polyphemus dealing +130% damage against humans instead of the intended +30%
- Fixed Reginleif not receiving her Gungnire projectile bonus when Gungnire was max level
- Fixed Gungnire not being able to target the Uber Guardian boss
- Fixed Athena receiving her level 50 special at level 40

GAMEPLAY

Increasing the hitpoints of Titans as they were dying a bit too quickly.

Titan
105000 --> 125000 hitpoints


Increasing the damage and range of the level 11 Pestilence upgrade as it felt quite weak, now also recieves a range increase from the Gauntlets of Punch Anything Relic. The poison effect now lasts forever instead of 1 minute, only really applicable for boss enemies.

Increasing the charge time of the Tremor Hammer as it was feeling far too effective at keeping melee enemies at bay, buffing its damage to compensate, so that when it does activate, its more impactful. In addition, the effect duration upgrade will now properly apply a percentage duration increase based on the current duration of the hammer's effect, instead of a flat increase of 0.1 second with each tier of the upgrade.

AUDIO

Added a chance for Greek and Egyptian culture music to play during hero selection.


Tweaked timing on fight music loops to be more seamless.


Removed ambient sounds for trees as they were inaudible for the majority of the time and just taking up file size.


OPTIMISATIONS

Reduced the resolution and removed the alpha channel of all hero select elements without reducing quality, slightly reducing memory useage and mod file size.


Slightly reduced the length of the new fight music tracks, reducing their file size.


FIX

- Fixed Titan fight music not playing on waves after wave 30
- Fixed Level 11 of Tremor Hammer not having a favor cost
- Fixed Phoenix not showing up on hard difficulty

Athena

- Unique: +12% damage against myth units every 10 levels

Bella
- Starting Weapon: Dust Devils
- Bonus: +3.0 second Dust Devil lifespan
- Unique: +1 Dust Devil amount every 10 levels up to 3 times
- Extra Bonus: is a dog


GAMEPLAY

Added an extra Temple in the south of the map for additional Relic storage.


After completing wave 30, enemies will spawn significantly more frequently, increasing the density of enemy encounters.


Improved the responsiveness of Ballistas, Dust Devils, Enyo's Bow, Gungnire, Meteor, Mjolnir, Radiance and Tremor Hammer so they spend less time idle after spawning, or after killing an enemy.


Enyo's Long Bow will now always target the closest enemy rather than target the closest enemy at the time and then only changing target when that enemy dies.


Dust Devils now have reduced line of sight and will spawn more incrementily, this is to reduce situations of Dust Devils merging into each other, allowing them to attack in more varied locations. The slowing effect has also been removed as it was too powerful for the new bosses.

Increasing the amount of Sun Sprites that spawn for the final level of Radiance as that upgrade felt quite weak without the Ankh of Ra upgrade.

Changed Hippolyta's Enyo's Bow damage scaling to be Base Percentage rather than Percentage, this means the bonus damage will be lower overall, but during testing of the new enemies, this bonus was killing Uber Guardians in less than a second and the Titan in under 40 seconds.

Increasing the damaging of the Hieracosphinx, as their DPS was less than the regular Sphinx, which didn't make much sense.

Slightly increasing the range of a few enemies as they were having alot of trouble attacking the survivor.

Serpent bosses are now recieving a hitpoint and speed increase everytime one is killed, keeping them somewhat challenging the further a player progresses.

NEW ENEMIES

Uber Guardian (boss)
An Uber Guardian will spawn on wave 16, drops a Relic on death

Uber Guardian (unit)
Significantly stronger version of Guardians, with triple the HP and increased damage, drops a red soul on death (25 gold)

Titan (boss)
A Titan will spawn after completing wave 30, accompanied by fight music, creates 4 Relics on death at the center of the map

Champion Chariot Archer (unit)
Increase speed, hitpoints, range and fires 2 projectiles instead of 1 compared to the Heavy Chariot Archer, drops a yellow soul on death (10 gold)


FIXES

- Fixed Pots, Rugs and Water Lillies getting destroyed from certain attacks
- Fixed Dust Devils sometimes not recieving lifespan increases
- Fixed Chariot Archers dealing significantly less damage to heroes than intended
- Fixed enemies sometimes running away and becoming idle when taking area of effect whilst being knocked back by Meteor or Tremor Hammer
- Fixed double the amount of Sun Sprites spawning when researching the final upgrade of Radiance
- Fixed Mjolnir not being able to target bosses
- Fixed Sun Sprites not attacking bosses
- Fixed Sun Sprites not inheriting stat increases from the Radiance upgrades
- Reduced the amount of fire particles spawned by Meteor explosions as it was unnecessarily high

Priests and Pharaohs are now considered humans and will take additional damage from bonus damage to humans

Harmonias Necklace Relic

Enyo's Bow felt a little weak compared to other ranged weapons, so giving it a damage boost.

Increasing the damage of the Fiery Caduceus, this weapon is intended to have high damage to make up for its slow rate of fire, so increasing the damage a bit.

Increasing the damage of the level 11 lightning bolts for Mjolnir as well as it felt quite weak for a final upgrade.

Playing as Reginleif the past few days, she feels quite weak compared to other heroes, so improving her bonus and slightly increasing base HP.

FIXES

- Fixed purple souls having a 5 minute lifespan, they now last forever as intended
- Fixed Ballista max level icon having the incorrect graphic
- Fixed a couple of typos in descriptions
- Optimised ballista bolts as they were causing frame drops when many were on screen
- Ballistas now recieve move speed increases from projectile speed bonuses
- Implemented a far more reliable fix for waves not looping after wave 30, all enemies on screen will be cleared at the end of every 30 waves as a result
