Version 1.4

Major changes:

-Added more details throughout the school, such as radiators, potted plants, etc.
-Implemented subtle Ambient Occlusion
-Some of the lights in dark areas are now turned on

Minor changes and fixes:

-Improved cubemaps (You won’t see much difference)
-Added more ambient sounds
-Music in the theatre will now play from both speakers
-Improved basketball ring net texture
-Birds no longer sing at night (StormFox 2)
-Added crickets at night (StormFox 2)
-Fixed a missing texture in a bathroom (why did no one report that???)
-Adjusted occluders
-Minor fixes to lightning and props

In version 1.5 I will remake the whole 3D skybox and add more detail. I cannot guarantee it will come out before 2025. Until then, I may update the map to 1.4.1, if I find any serious bugs.

While playing on the map I noticed something odd. Something is emitting a radio signal; I couldn’t pinpoint the location. Maybe you can intercept it with a radio?

Version 1.3

The map haven't had any updates in a while. Well, it is because there is not much to update, and I was focused on another project. But I decided to shift my priorities a little. This update mostly focuses on optimization and minor bug fixes. Most notable changes:

-Addon size reduced in half (from 42 mb to 22 mb)
-Light improvements in some areas.
-Dynamic shadows are now able to change their angles based on light source.
-Gym lines are now more high quality.
-Removed some unused and out-of-place textures.

In theory, the map should load faster, but in practice, 80% of the loading time is the GMod loading addons, so the difference in loading speed is negligible.

This update isn't much, but with boring bug fixes and optimization out of the way, I can now focus on updates that actually change the map visually.

In the next update (1.4) I will focus on details. The school corridors are very empty, so I will add some decals and, perhaps, some decoration. I will also, finally, add a way to open that door to the basement. I also plan to redo all of the cubemaps, you won't notice much difference, but the map will take up a little less space. I hope to get that update out by the end of August. I don't currently have any plans for update 1.5, so feel free to suggest!

By the way, just to clear things up: the TTT version is not coming. The map just isn't good for TTT. I had a prototype, and it is a torture to play TTT on this map, it is too big, with a lot of classrooms, and it is perfect for snipers. Even if you ignore the gameplay, there are still two more reason why it will not come out. First one: nobody cares about it. Nobody is interested in the TTT version of gm_deschool. Second one: it is time consuming to update both versions of the map. Additionally, any TTT servers that may host my map will be forced to download updates for it, and nobody likes maps that you have to update every month. I mean, it's not like I update my map often, but I plan to, alright?

Version 1.2 is out.

Added library at the third floor.
Removed unused textures.
Removed obstructed props from 3D skybox.
Removed Herobrine.
Sun's penumbra is more noticeable now.
Lightmap optimization.
.ain file is now included with the map.
Moved to using Hammer++ and Slammin' Source tools (feels like having all infinity stones):
-Significant lighting improvements.
-Minor optimization.

Version 1.1.2 is out. Not a lot of updates, I know, but there are barely any bugs to fix, and I can't come up with a good feature.

Minor bugfixes.
Added ambient sounds, now you can hear birds chirping, water leaking from pipes in restrooms, etc.
