3.2 The Biome and Graphics Overhaul

Fixed many biomes:

  • Conifer forests are no longer mostly fruit trees
  • Grasslands are now actually grasslands, with sparse trees around water sources
  • Wild shrubs now grow only in their original native wild habitats
  • Changed wild sliver thorn and sun berry back to appearing only in EVIL and GOOD biomes
  • Cultivated sliver thorn and sun berry should still appear in trade and be farmable anywhere
Biomes should now feel unique and realistic instead of every non-freezing region being a fruit tree forest.

Removed a redundant line from the soap definition in the plant files (it's already defined the same in the material template).

Added many new shrub sprites provided by ryno.

3.1 Fixed a few wild crop seasons that were missed.

3.0 NOT compatible with existing saves.

Added flour, milk, and tofu for quarry bush
Added flour for peanuts
Added coir, oil and soap to coconuts
Coconuts are processed by husking to the useable coconut fruit and a husk item
The husk can be spun into thread, but cannot be used to make paper
Added missing materials for tree catkins and cones

Changed materials that exist in vanilla back to their vanilla IDs for increased mod compatibility (MILL, EXTRACT)

Milling dyes in bulk now requires a Millstone and cannot be performed at a Quern
Moved extraction (syrup, sugar crystallization) reactions to the Still instead of the Farmer's Workshop
Moved paper pressing to the Screw Press
Removed redundant DOES_NOT_ABSORB modifier from reactions requiring FOOD_STORAGE_CONTAINER

Returned vanilla reaction "mill seeds/nuts to paste" for mods that may use it (does not work with any AA plants)
Seedless reactions have been removed

Made vanilla mead brewing reaction work with more than just honey bee honey
No change to vanilla function, but allows it to work with modded sources of honey

Added generic reactions for milling plants and plant growths to dye, flour, milk, paste, powder, or slurry
Added generic reactions for extracting syrup from plants and plant growths
Added generic reaction for crystallizing sugar from syrup
Added generic reactions for spinning thread from plants, plant growths, and wool
These generic reactions work the same as the vanilla jobs, but have variants available for plant growths instead of just plants

Added [REACTION_CLASS:ALCOHOL] for alcoholic drinks
Added [REACTION_CLASS:CAFFEINE] for caffeinated drinks
Added [REACTION_CLASS:BEVERAGE] for water-based drinks

Added realistic growth durations and seasons to plantable crops
Fixed a few wild forages appearing at the wrong time of year

Reduced clustersize on most wild plants, max foraged yields per plant are now lower than cultivated.

2.26 Compatible with previous saves, though those growing plants in the WINTER may want to wait until a different season to apply this update, or not update.

Removed WINTER farming from above-ground crops since tokens cannot be removed without cutting and re-writing plants. This allows temperate embarks to grow tropical crops as temperate annuals (a very common practice) without being able to grow crops throughout the winter. This does affect growing crops in tropical areas due to the game treating all biomes as having temperate seasons. Yes, I am aware some crops are perennials, but I am not changing GROW_DUR at this time. There is also the issue that most perennials aren't planted in the winter, and the game does not simulate planting and harvesting times except for wild growths.

2.25 Compatible with previous saves. Some wild crops now change sprites when the seed-producing forageable growth is ready to harvest. This includes most beans, berries, cucurbits, and nightshades.

2.23 Compatible with previous saves. Added REACTION_CLASS for DYE, EDIBLE_POWDER, FLOUR, PLANT_MILK, PLANT_OIL, SUGAR, and SYRUP. This will allow modders to more easily select specific materials for reactions.

2.22 Compatible with previous saves. Fixed alfalfa shoots not being gatherable. Removed unused graphic tokens from wild plants. It is now possible to visually tell when wild fisher berries, prickle berries, strawberries, and sun berries are ready to forage.
