Olympia Class Super Carrier
- The Olympia-class super carrier is one of the oldest line of super carriers serving in the UNSC during the war. Lacking the immense carrying capacity of newer super carriers like the Punic-class, or the firepower of the Thermopylae-class, the Olympia was designed for supporting massive ground campaigns in unknown or hostile territories. The ship has 8 large hangers able to house D20 Heron's or prowlers to be repaired & rearmed internally, It also carries the resources necessary to build firebases. This was during a time when most ships could only dock large ships like the D20 externally, exposed on their outer hulls. This made the class an extremely durable orbital support ship, with the ability to carry & protect large amounts of ground troops and ample supplies to sustain them in the field with little to no external contact for considerable amounts of time. While normally only equipped with a couple squadrons of long swords & short swords, it has numerise amounts of Pelican, Albatross, & Darter dropships to quickly and efficiently distribute supplies near hostile areas, while the D20 Herons deploy prefabricated firebases to reinforce places of interest.

Having been already decommissioned prior to the Insurrection, the Olympia class was originally envisioned as a military counterpart to the Phoenix-class Colony Ship, designed to quickly set up UNSC bases and infrastructure at a time when most colonies still lacked the means of supporting large military operations. Eventually the UNSC desided to obtain and refit the already proven line of Phoenix-class colony ship's into the Phoenix-class support vessel's instead. Compared to the Olympia class they would come at a fraction of the cost. However even with the extra armour and cannons, the Phoenix-class support vessel was under-powered compared to other warships; and it still lacked the capacity to operate as a front-line ship-to-ship combatant. It was Largely do to this limitation that the Olympia would still be produced in limited numbers, however as time went on the need for such vessels was greatly diminished, eventually being phased entirely during the Inner Colony Wars. Despite not serving with the UNSC Navy during the Insurrection, many given to the UEG were still serving as battlegroup flagships. The beginning of the Human-Covenant War would see these carriers brought back into service with the UNSC and a new limited production of the class, with the first few ships to be refit & ready for service relatively quickly, having been well maintained acting as museum ships prior to the war. Most of the ships would find there way to the Third Fleet to take place in the Harvest campaign, with a few making their way into battle groups spread across the Outer Colonies. The production of new ships only lasted a couple years due to the prospect of retaking worlds lost to the covenant being seen as too costly, then altogether unfeasible. By the time the UNSC pulled back to the inner colonies the few ships that survived were hopelessly obsolete and quickly scrapped.

Iliad/ Athens Class Carrier
- The Iliad-class heavy carrier is an obsolete line of warships based off of Halifax Spacewerx's successful line of colony ships. The Iliad was the primary means of exacting the UNSC's will for almost a century. While not as well-armed or armoured as the mighty supercarriers that succeeded it, the Iliad's massive modular interior could allow it to carry far more fighters and transports than the aforementioned flagships could. In fact, when fully kitted out for invasions, a single Iliad was often all that was required to overwhelm the defences of most rebelling colonies - a fact which translated into the ships' common descriptor as a "Siege-Breaker".

Having been constructed to bring an end to the dreaded Inner Colony Wars, these carriers saw very little action once the conflict ended, with many colonists quickly acknowledging the UEG's authority. With few protests and incidents demanding the deployment of a massive peacekeeping force, Iliads would slowly decay from decades of non-use, with many being salvaged even as frustration brewed in the colonies. As a result, every Iliad carrier was on the verge of being decommissioned by the time of the Insurrection. The desperation of the UNSC resulted in a new generation of these vessels being approved for production, playing a major role in the early years of the civil war. Ships with the 2514 refit, along with the newest generation of the vessels, were redesignated to Athens-class carrier's to help differentiate the class from the older models used by the CMA & various Insurrectionist factions. Eventually, newer or more effective warships such as the Epoch-class & Orion-class would begin to phase them out, with the carriers sent to shipbreaking yards to be scrapped. Some members of this class would see some stubborn use in the early years of the Human-Covenant War. However, their ineffectiveness compared to newer & smaller vessels would inspire the UNSC to cease using them after 2537.

( NOTE: The Iliad & Athens are the 2 most common names used for the class so ive combined their limited lores)

Salamis Class Assault Carrier
- The Salamis-class carrier is based off of the Iliad/ Athens Class Carrier. The class has less mass then the Iliad and additional fusion engines & emergency thrusters. Along with the installation of more powerful Slipspace drives allow the class to reach remarkable speeds for a ship of its tonnage, however this comes at the cost of even less armour & carrying capacity then the original Iliad/ Athens class.

Having been constructed along side the 2514 refit for the Iliad/ Athens class, the Salamis Class was designed as specialized fast scout carrier or flotilla leaders. This was primarily done to help stretch the life span of the ageing hulls they were based from. Do to the desperation of the UNSC at the beginning of the Insurrection era, the first four ships of the class were build from old salvaged ships that had already been decommissioned & even partially scrapped. Despite this, and its many other short comings, the class was seen as being more inline with UNSC fleet doctrine of the time. It could respond much quicker then any other carrier to stomp out any local unrest, able to rapidly deploy large amounts of peacekeeping forces with the goal of neutralizing the unrest before it has a chance to gain momentum or dig-in, but still able to support massive peacekeeping campaigns if needed do to retaining the vast internal factories of the phoenix class. Unfortunately, the beginning of the Human-Covenant War would see these carriers taking atrocious losses during the early years of the war. Even with their increased speeds, most reinforcement groups would arrive to find the battle already over and the fleet they were meant to support reduced to little more then molten debris fields. With little in the way of defences, as well as the class being spread throughout the Outer Colonies in small flotilla's, when the order was finally given to pull back to the inner colonies, nearly all of the Salamis class carriers had been destroyed or damages beyond repair during the massacre of the outer colonies. With the needs of the UNSC having drastically changed, the last few ships were decommissioned and scrapped for parts for more effective vessels.

Epoch-class heavy carrier
- See coded part of description, couldn't fit it all in one place
