Far East Preview: Documentation
Welcome to the Far East Preview! We are proud to give you this small glimpse into what will become the larger and more complete Far East Expansion Mod. My name is Zyph, and I am going to attempt to document what this preview contains, and let you know what it may be incompatible with.
I will start with a list of the new classes, those who have documentation else will be described only briefly. I will then move on to the amount of items we have added, and close the document with the one incompatibility we have found.
I would ask that you understand that this release is the open beta release. There are still bugs here and there, and we hope you will point them out to us so we can fix them.
Credit needs to go to the team I work with before I move on, and I would like to give you the name of the team who has gotten to this point. I would like to say I feel this team is going to bring you much more Far East greatness!
Foldar: Our Web Guy, and much more.
Epoch: Who has given us the Ninja, some amazing skill concepts, working on a UI overhaul, and is on the Shugenja team.
Minesweeper: Brought us the completed Monster Hunter, aids in Particle creation, and is on the Shugenja team.
Vash: Who gives us our amazing character portraits.
Zyph: I do some of everything.
Our Testers who have ensured you didnt get a buggy and unplayable mod. If I missed one of you, please let me know so you can be added.
Rusty
Kyousho
JacKc
Jjstraka
Cedvan
Isaki
Thanks!

The Kensei: Description can be found on RGF <http://www.runicgamesfansite.com/vbdownloads.php?do=download&downloadid=481>

The Monster Hunter: Description can be found at <http://www.runicgamesfansite.com/vbdownloads.php?do=download&downloadid=530>
The Grand Master:
The Grand Masters have dedicated their lives to traveling the world and mastering various forms of Martial Arts. They are not content with the standard styles taught in villages and monasteries, they seek the exotic, and mystical.
Once they have learned a style, they will move on seeking to master and improve upon what they were taught. They do this with ease, for each Grand Master is a martial arts savant. It is as if they were destine to be masters before birth.
While they have great respect for the Warrior Monks that travel the land, they see their martial style as too limited in focus.
The Grand Master has traveled the land and discovered four training manuals for lost and mystical styles. Such is their Martial prowess that they are able to easily learn the style through these manuals.
To utilize the Grand Masters various styled new fist weapons have been placed in the game. Floating Fist, Closed Fist, Hidden Fist, and Legendary Fist. Using one of these fists weapons in the right hand will change the Idle fighting stance the Grand Master uses. While most attacks do not require one of these fists, some do, and the most powerful will require one of these fists in the right and left hand.
The Ronin:
The Ronin or Wave Man/Woman is a traveling soldier who throws in on the cause of their choice. They wander the land perfecting their combat skills in battle after battle.
The greatest of them all was a swordsman named Miyamoto Musashi. This Ronin wrote what would become the key philosophy of many warriors to come. He titled this The Book of 5 Rings, which contained the chapters Fire, Air, Earth, Water, and Void.
The Ronin lives and dies by Musashis book as they walk the land. In this their schools are each a represented as one of the elemental rings in name.
The Ronin has 3 skill trees with 12 skills in each tree. All but the Void tree contains two elemental schools.
Like the Grand Master the Ronin utilizes various stances based on the weapons they are using. We have added Katana weapons to the game, these are broken down into Basic, Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. Each weapon also has its own idle stance.
Total additions with the Preview
6 new character classes
20+ new animations
50+ new weapon models
100+ new armor items items (Gi tops, Kung Fu uniforms, Armor, Tattoos, Hakama pants, Blind Folds, and Conical Hats.)
1 new merchant
Incompatibility: There is a single incompatibility that I am ashamed to say I cant find the source of. The Preview does not work with Brothers in Arms by Dudely. If anyone is willing to dig through to find the problem, please contact me.

Attempted Fix of double cast skills.

Update: Sep 4, 2013 @ 6:03am

Change Notes
• All Classes: Passives that offer an increase in stats now unlock at level 5, and then can be purchased every 6 levels thereafter. This is another attempt to combat the stat crash bug without removing the stat bonus.
• Hakama: All of the older Hakama had their textures modified.

Update: Aug 31, 2013 @ 9:17pm

Act 1 Far East Merchant has lost her sword. I returned it.

Update: Aug 31, 2013 @ 5:51am

Change Notes

Minor changes to Weapon.

Update: Aug 30, 2013 @ 9:01am

Change Notes
• Minor Change to Eastern Merchant in act 3
• Minor Affix Changes
• Katana: Now have items from 1-100

Update: Aug 30, 2013 @ 6:01am

Bugs Fixed
Raging Inferno: tier bonuses description still looks wrong. ranks 10-15 don't hit enemies (ranks 1-9 work fine). also mp cost looks too low for so strong skill

Battle Hardened: poison armor bonus is much lower than other elemental armors (maybe it's not a bug and it should be so)

Repaired

Reed in the Wind: passive dodge bonus is removed by using Flip Kick with tier 1-3 bonus (dodge chance buff) or Close the Distance (dodge chance buff at any rank). RitW activates again after changing rank in any passive skill

Repaired
The Way of the Void: description says attack bonus is 100% focus, skill effect shows 200% focus as "magical damage", character's attack in stats doesn't increase, but damage done increases

also i have a feeling that it would crash multiplayer games (didn't test it yet). "+X all damage" adds X points of damage by every possible element. i thought there's one "hidden" element that is not listed in any stats, and it causes crashes for other players when used in character's attacks. looks like "magical damage" is that hidden element (maybe i'm wrong of course)
Reply: I have changed it back to physical damage.
The Way of Earth: tier 1 bonus elemental damage reduction doesn't work. crit rate debuff is still listed in tier effects descriptions

Repaired

Update: Aug 29, 2013 @ 5:50pm

Change Notes
Ronin: Master of the 5 Rings: Damage bonus per-level increased.
Ronin: Servant of the 5 Rings: There was a bug corrected that was preventing the skill from leveling.
Ronin: Sweeping Fire and Raging Inferno: Animation correction.
Ronin: Frozen River, Damage bonus per-level reduced.
Ronin: Battle Hardened did not have the stat crash bug fix applied. That has been corrected.
Ronin: Void Stance: Buffed.
