CHANGED

  • The mod now requires the Veterans of Alesia mod.
  • Changed starting units for Caesar in the Battle of Zela.
  • Some re-balancing of unit veterancy.
  • All First Cohort units in all Roman armies (only in these historical battles, and not in campaign or custom battles), have had their numbers doubled from 160 to 320 men.
  • Removed all Auxiliary Infantry from all Roman factions, and reduced the amount of (the generically named) Auxiliary Cavalry, as local auxiliaries were more common than Romanized ones.

REPLACED
  • Replaced the Auxiliary Infantry in the Battle of Pharsalus (that were supposed to represent Legionaries using their Pila as a spear to fend off cavalry, as happened historically) with a new unit of Legionaries which use Pila as a spear, for greater immersion.
  • Replaced the naval unit of Auxiliary Cretan Archers in the Battle of the Nile (originally Velites in the vanilla battle) with a unit of Egyptian Archers, which along with the Cleopatra unit will give a greater sense of the battle being part of an Egyptian civil war.

ADDED
  • Named sub-commanders added to most battles: Mark Antony in the battles of Alesia and Pharsalus, Cleopatra and Mithridates of Pergamon in the Battle of the Nile, King Deiotarus of Galatia in the Battle of Zela, and King Bogud of Mauretania in the Battle of Munda.
  • Cleopatra has been given her historical bodyguard Apollodorus as a standard bearer, his appearance is based of how he looked in Assassin's Creed: Origins; he is an inconsequential but immersive "Easter Egg" that was fun to add.
  • New units (based on existing units) for added flavor.
  • New visuals for existing units using the models from the Veterans of Alesia mod.
  • Any non Roman or not named as an "Auxiliary" unit has been given slightly different uniform colors based on a mix of Rome's colors and colors from their native country.
